Primal Fear Mod. Its pretty cool. He seemed to be avoiding the modded elements of the game. Primal fear increases states of everything like crazy and if he has Awesome Teleporters you make a base where ever then start teleporting around.
I'm honestly really mad that none of these "top 10 best tames" include the frog. Fast movement speed, large jump, swims fast, does torpor damage and makes cement paste. How is that not useful
It is very useful but at the same time the frog is too squishy. U either have good gear or if u get kapro'd in the swamp where a lot of the bugs are u and ur frog are both screwed
So you forget to mention, that Therizinos have higher dps than a rex, they just lack in the hp department. They gain a 50% damage reduction to fire though, making them hands down one of the best tames to take on the dragon with. Due to their smaller size, they are easier to breed and store than a rex, and you can have many different theris for different purposes, especially with their power and delicate harvesting. Need rare flowers? Grab your delicate harvester. Need meat? Grab your power harvester. Chitin? Delicate. Pump weight on all of them. Need to kill nasty stuff? Hp and melee. I typically breed these before I ever even tame a rex cause they are truly the ultimate swiss army knife of ark. Anky, doed, theri, now you have all the essential resources ready to go.
I prefer chainsaws and mining drills and using the argy to hold all my shit. Then teleport back to base Omni took the loot into vaults and back to harvesting.
As a strict solo player...a Quetz shouldn't be #1. Hard to tame solo (for starters) and having a mobile base is OK...BUT it is THE SLOWEST flyer in ARK. In a tribe with others it is ideal because one can fly while the other ride a resource tame (anky, doed, ect) but SOLO? not a good choice at all. I will take a 2x2 bed base with a Wyvern over a Quetz any day. Also, he fails to mention about platform saddles: Once you build a base you CANNOT pod them without that base being destroyed. That goes for ALL platform saddles.
gasbags are better for singleplayer because they have the most weight in the game and there isnt someone punching you toward the forge or picking you with ptera and punching you

Regim 60 Gasbags can’t be found in Island Just in Extinction map And Gasbags Will take fall DMG but Argys can pick up a lot of metal And even if they are out Of Stam they will slowly go down without taking fall DMG and Argys were a beast in the old days were you could Give it some movement speed
I never considered the Quetzal before as a single player. You build a base on the back and it just floats where you parked it forever? That sounds like a dream come true! Especially as I’m currently moving around the map hunting artifacts. I’m having to move from cave to cave and prepare for each one. I have my two house boats using the raft of course but really they’re only useful for seaside or underwater cave. But a flying base that can hover indefinitely while I’m on piloting it sounds great. I’ve only done two of the nine artifacts so a Quetzal might be just what I’m looking for.

I coloured my Quetz like the sky with a cloud and its camouflage is great because if someone is looking up casually they don't see a slow Quetz that they can easily kill.

Hey, just so everyone knows, only Abberant Raptors can pin u now, normal ones cannot anymore. Also, Thylacoleo has a pounce/pin ability. Just climb up a wall, turn around, and you'll get a cross hair. If u land on the target dino/survivor right, you'll pin it to the ground and you can kill it.
For taming the thylo go to crystal isles deserts and then it’s really easy to find and tame and their is rocks around that you can stand on for knocking out and will be out in the open.
Honestly the Sarco deserved a spot there. They are fast swimmers and easily take down spinos even with the spinos buff, as well as rexes, packs of Alasaurs, Megalodons, and I used a level 213 to fight a Giga with my friends and he did phenomenal. They can also pack a lot of weight, have a tanky amount of health, and damage similar to large land animals. Definitely should have at least one Sarco.
You can get a ferox just don’t feed it element and put it on passive because it will turn into a furious beast. Also there are chibis they are not tames you can also get them from gachaclus. an otter they also provide insulation for when your in the sea or tundra. Jerboas are there to look cute but use full on scorched story-mode to sense the super heat and sandstorms that can kill you. Also you can get an archer there in the redwoods on trees they eat chitin and can be used as a hand glider. Also basically all the light pets to help in the aberration caves with the seekers and the nameless and reapers.
Yeah I love sarco, it was the first semi aquatic creature I ever tamed in ark mobile and in all of ark since I got my PS4 with ark months later and now I have a PC that I play on, but the point is the sarco is extremely underrated, even after it got that TLC about a year or 2 ago. It has decent speed, health, stamina, melee, can do that death roll, and is pretty easy to tame early on and it’s saddle is like lvl 35 I think.
I love the sarco too it is very underrated however I have replaced it with a spino and I don’t regret it, my spino does 4,000 damage per second with no mods and without water buff 😂😂
18:20 one problem is you cant make it hover because it loses stamina while flying always so make a bronto base and get stamina for quetzil so you can hover for far longer
No love for gasbags? Carry weight between 3 and 5 thousand, 80% damage reduction when containing any gas, and unique flight mechanic that can make for lightning fast traversal.... Should've put it in argie's spot.
true, gasbags are extremely useful, but i dont think they are a replacement for argys, gasbags are extremely good for longer farming trips so you can take more ressources with you, but a good argy is still one of the best things to get ressources across the map (even though i still hate how slow they fly)
I would say only the Bry, Theri and Argi on this list are absolute must. The rest are just 'toys' when compared. Toys are for fun, but easily can be replaced with other toys based on a person's personal preference. I did all the underwater caves with just the Bry for example, get a group of 4-5 of them and 'bred' so you get bonuses well ya they will be able to take on even Alpha Mosas. So having a Mosa is completely not needed. I would also suggest now the new Deinonychus, they're ridiculously OP, and almost have the terrestrial mobility of a Thyla, with only their derpy wall climbing ability being less efficient. I've been breeding these ie collecting lvl 135-150 eggs to stack stats to make up for no taming bonus being they're not knock out tames, I'm dumb struck on how fast just one of them if you level them up can wipe a pack of Allos, and take out a Pranto and T-Rex, despite having the base stats of a Raptor (Minus the 30 damage vs a Raptors 15). I already got one of them able to do over 1000 damage per attack with a pack/mate/imprinting bonuses and I've not even done mutation breeding yet, oh and she doesn't have the highest base attack out of all the Deinos I have. Just the most leveled one. Out of all the pack animals in the game I'm actually honestly going to say I think Deinos if done right can take on any Dino you will find on land if you get at least 3-4 of them in a group so you can stack bonuses.
My strategy for taming decent creatures(at least on Crystal Isles) is to tame a Beelzebufo, go to the desert, and shoot stuff with a crossbow. You can even find Thylas in the desert. Then just use a command to give yourself some cryopods(if everyone’s fine with it) and bring what you get home.

Downloaded this yesterday ($10 on PSN, why not?) And had absolutely NO idea what I was getting myself into. Watched a few hours of UA-cam now, and I'm beginning to grasp how little I know about the complexity of this game. Tamed my first dino a few hours ago (which was absurdly difficult until I learned how to quick swap items from one inventory to another!) And realizing I have hours and hours of play to go before I can tackle the truly useful Dino's. If anyone sees this, and has any must know tips for a noob (solo for now) let me know!
@@BTLink6173 Single player default settings is harder than official servers. your settings will keep dino levels quite low, but a low level kills u just the same as a high really. On official u can get your dinos higher and use them to fight your battles. I did enjoy single player, but you're v limited in what you can do with the harvest levels etc, makes it v v grindy.
I personally wouldn’t have had quetz on the list, especially not as number one. I only ever do single player or with a friend or two and I think that the sheer difficulty of taming them alone counters the ability to have a base on its back. It’s useful, but I don’t know if I can say it’s worth it the struggle. Especially when they seem fairly prone to falling into the water. Granted this is a bit of an older video though
personnal preference, Id go for a mantis instead of the therizino, all you need is a set of tools to make it the any ressource gatherer, further more if you get your hand on higher quality tools. although I admit it is a hard tame, collecting deathworm horns aint easy already, yet you still need skills for the passive tame either to survive surronding hostiles or your tame target itself.
Ive got 2,112 hrs solo and my list would be the following: 1. Mana 2. Argy 3. Anky 4. Doedicurus 3. Beelzebufo (frog) 5. Purlovia 6. Dire Bear 7. Anglerfish 8. Griffin 9. Pteranodon 10. Quetz (for sky bases)

I tamed my first giga today 🥳 it was lvl 135 and I built a trap for it. Just 5 minutes after another one with the opposite gender spawned and I also got it in the trap.. after making a few more darts, I actually tamed it and even tho it was only level 60 I will breed them for sure! I’m just not sure if I really want to use them since I can’t really push him about 20 okay health but he does more damage than my rexs… what would you guys say rexes, gigas or both for boss fight? (Ragnarok atm)

Eqqus makes a beautiful first tame, they collect berries, nice weight, move fast, and they can knock out other creatures.

My favorites are the Rock drake, Yutyrannus, and griffin but the thylacoleo is also pretty cool

I would place the Theriz higher up in the ranking for SP. With sweet cakes they are my go to for boss fights (except maybe the manticore arena).

I did all the underwater caves with just the Bry for example, get a group of 4-5 of them and 'bred' so you get bonuses well ya they will be able to take on even Alpha Mosas. So having a Mosa is completely not needed. I would also suggest now the new Deinonychus, they're ridiculously OP, and almost have the terrestrial mobility of a
Thyla, with only their derpy wall climbing ability being less efficient. I've been breeding these ie collecting lvl 135-150 eggs to stack stats to make up for no taming bonus being they're not knock out tames, I'm dumb struck on how fast just one of them if you level them up can wipe a pack of Allos, and take out a Pranto and T-Rex, despite having the base stats of a Raptor (Minus the 30 damage vs a Raptors 15). I already got one of them able to do over 1000 damage per attack with a pack/mate/imprinting bonuses and I've not even done mutation breeding yet, oh and she doesn't have the highest base attack out of all the Deinos I have. Just the most leveled one. Out of all the pack animals in the game I'm actually honestly going to say I think Deinos if done right can take on any Dino you will find on land if you get at least 3-4 of them in a group so you can stack bonuses.

My strategy for taming decent creatures(at least on Crystal Isles) is to tame a Beelzebufo, go to the desert, and shoot stuff with a crossbow. You can even find Thylas in the desert. Then just use a command to give yourself some cryopods(if everyone’s fine with it) and bring what you get home.

One of my favorites to just mess around with is the blood stalker because of the web swinging ability like spider man and the ability to grab smaller dinos and pull them
They also have a charge up jump and a parachute ability and some of them can dive under water but it doesn’t work with some of them I’m not sure why

Downloaded this yesterday ($10 on PSN, why not?) And had absolutely NO idea what I was getting myself into.
Watched a few hours of UA-cam now, and I'm beginning to grasp how little I know about the complexity of this game. Tamed my first dino a few hours ago (which was absurdly difficult until I learned how to quick swap items from one inventory to another!) And realizing I have hours and hours of play to go before I can tackle the truly useful Dino's.
If anyone sees this, and has any must know tips for a noob (solo for now) let me know!

@@BTLink6173 Single player default settings is harder than official servers. your settings will keep dino levels quite low, but a low level kills u just the same as a high really. On official u can get your dinos higher and use them to fight your battles.
I did enjoy single player, but you're v limited in what you can do with the harvest levels etc, makes it v v grindy.

I personally wouldn’t have had quetz on the list, especially not as number one. I only ever do single player or with a friend or two and I think that the sheer difficulty of taming them alone counters the ability to have a base on its back. It’s useful, but I don’t know if I can say it’s worth it the struggle. Especially when they seem fairly prone to falling into the water. Granted this is a bit of an older video though

personnal preference, Id go for a mantis instead of the therizino, all you need is a set of tools to make it the any ressource gatherer, further more if you get your hand on higher quality tools. although I admit it is a hard tame, collecting deathworm horns aint easy already, yet you still need skills for the passive tame either to survive surronding hostiles or your tame target itself.

I tamed my first giga today 🥳 it was lvl 135 and I built a trap for it. Just 5 minutes after another one with the opposite gender spawned and I also got it in the trap.. after making a few more darts, I actually tamed it and even tho it was only level 60 I will breed them for sure! I’m just not sure if I really want to use them since I can’t really push him about 20 okay health but he does more damage than my rexs… what would you guys say rexes, gigas or both for boss fight? (Ragnarok atm)
