If you make a part 2, it might be worth mentioning that riding a stego or a spino protects you from land dismounters! (Not sure about aquatic) Including purlovia, thylas, and even microraptors. It makes stegos in particular a really valuable early exploration tame since they are tanky, decent harvesters, and have that ability. I always try to get a stego and an iguanodon for big travel expeditions early on, considering how much ground the iguano covers without stam depletion as well. Equus are also great in general for taming since you rarely need tranqs with how much torpor their kicks do. (And it's always hilarious seeing things run from a horse.)
@@littlekitsune1 Thanks! Yeah I did have more ideas but rounded it out at 25 in the end (sounds better in the title) :D. I'm actually loving the Equus right now, it's needed to knockout a specific tame on this mod map i'm playing, they're so much fun just kicking everything knocking them out easily🤣
@@tonykeally1039 Either pump levels into movement speed or use a Spino instead. I like Stegos early game because they're pego-proof, and microraptor-proof while having good bulk, good carry weight, and good attack range and knockback. To each their own, I guess!
Everyone forgets the best 1st tame...... the Pego 😆 Just tame it and set it on wander. It will then gather you items like bolas, boomerangs, bullets and simple pistols. Really good for the beach bob to get early access to that stuff
If your daeodon is hungry and you need to wait for it to eat all its food, put tons of food in its inventory and go out of render and back in. It should eat all of the meat instantly
One more tip about the sinomacrops: they don't just have a 75% weight reduction, they're also the only shoulder pet you can access their inventory while wearing them, just like how you access a mount while riding. That makes them even more useful as a backpack.
Dire Bears are by far one of my favorite tames. They hit in the same damage category as a Rex, can attack while moving at full speed, swim decently well, provide an insulation bonus when you're near them, and can gather so many basic resources well. It's my go to for getting around the non-radiation areas on Aberration, as they're pretty easy to find and not hard to build a trap for(also honey isn't too bad to get in the green zone of Aberration)
This is a GREAT video!! I SO wish I had something like this when I started. I thought they had nerfed the otter when it came to carrying 2 artifacts so I stopped bringing mine in, but it's nice to hear that it still works!
My favorite autofarms: -Tame at least one mating pair of kairuku, hesperornis, or mantis (preferably all or at least multiple females) leave them on stationary breeding with a dimetrodon and caged or rocked oviraptor nearby, and get a few hyaenodons with meat packs on aggressive (obviously this works better in a confined area). As soon as babies are born and left unclaimed, the yeens will kill and harvest them automatically. And since the meat packs act as a portable fridge, spoil times on the prime meat and organic polymer should be lower, giving you more time to pick them up for use. -Similarly, I like to make a "Colosseum" for leveling up. Get a breeding pair of whatever gives good exp, obviously gigas are gonna be your big money if possible, set them on stationary breeding with the same setup of an oviraptor and dimetrodon, and with a lystro for good measure. Note that for both to work smoothly you may have to change your PvE settings in the advanced tab. Certain settings won't let your creatures ping babies as hostiles.
On the Andrewsarchus theres another ability that in my opinion is the best one, the saddle gives immunity to Radiation, very helpful when your getting some Rock Drakes on Fjordur or even Abberation.
Damn, i'm not the best at proof watching my videos, I even recorded me going into the radiation zone on Fjordur and showcasing it and completely forgot to edit it into the video!! I remember finishing the poison tip and be like 'aaaaah finally finished the video' oh well! But yep, the radiation immunity is probably the best one out of it's saddle passives! Maybe I need to proof watching my video more than once to notice something I've missed out haha!
@BEYPlaysGames lol its suprising how easily they made it to get Rock Drake eggs too, since Andrew's are right outside the Drakes Cave so you could just tame one and go in there real quick and have a rock drake in less then a couple of minutes
Also with maewings, if you leave the babies in its pouches on follow, if the imprint they need is a walk one, it’ll auto do it as they can’t leave the pouch but it still counts as them moving, helpful if your just gonna sit and watch babies grow.
Great video I came back to ark after 6 months and getting that strange urge every ark player gets to play ark again and I don’t remember everything about the game
I recently tamed an otter and I love that lil guy. He was kind of a douche to tame (kept running/swimming off in a dangerous river area), but definitely worth it. Haven't had a temperature issue since, and his backpack feature is fire. Was able to tame a really nice bary with the fish meat he carried, thus making a huge step up from the sarcos I had been using. I do have a couple spinos tamed, but don't have access to their saddles yet. Looking forward to that.
That's awesome! Honestly the Otter is by far one of the best creatures in the game! Especially for solo players, it's so nice to come away with more than one of the same artifact from cave runs :D

And still has slightly better weight reduction for metal than the Magmasaur , 300 stack weights 45 assuming that is what you meant? 😁I still tend to use them more than the Magmasaur, unless there's a metal spawn right next to my base or I can leave them nearby!
Magmasaur has a high gathering ability for metal then the anky, but less than the anky when it comes to crystal, obsidian, etc. However, the magmasaur melee gathering ability tops out much sooner than the anky, which does not top out to over 800 melee points. No other gathering creature has an ability higher then 500 and most cap closer to 300. So you will not see the Anky's full ability till you get it's melee that high. At more common value's they will gather metal and stone slower than the magmasaur due to this. Also they gather stone slower than the doed at all times. I'd say The Island is great for beginners but if you're up for a challenge and would like access to more varieties of creatures to tame then Fjordur is the best in my opinion!
The Tropeognathus is one of my go to tames once you give it a saddle. Not only is the saddle the only non tek weapon saddle, it uses grenades as weapons. Rarer versions of the saddle increase the grenades damage. It also uses gasoline as fuel to activate a jet engine on the back. It uses thermals to pick up speed as well as dive bombing like the gryphon. Also with the engine running it can do arial combat maneuvers, like 180 over and upward turns and can strafe fly like a tapi. I know when i used to PVP i would love using one to dive bomb and grenade bases only to have people chase me and me leave them in the dust. They take forever to tame however
In my opinion the Morellatops should get a TLC for ASA. They are cool/fine for early game SE (provided you don’t use good crafted water consumables), but they are kinda useless/underwhelming everywhere else.
@@awkward__lizard This is true, but unlike the rest, the Morellatops is literally useless after early-mid game. Crafted water recipes make them irrelevant. The rest of these creatures still have their uses. The only one that’s somewhat obsolete is the Carno. The Megalodon already got a “TLC” giving it a pack bonus and a bleed. But I do agree these creatures still should get some more love.
Mine was literally OP as far as protection and killing creatures so this confuses me. Maybe I just got an especially good one? I used it almost exclusively until I got a Thyla and it was VITAL to that taming. I loved it.
I guess it's not really a "Beginner friendly" creature, but I feel like the Yutyrannus should be an honorable mention as a support beast. Having a roar that boosts allied dinosaur damage and lowers incoming damage is really good if you're taking on a major threat. During those times where you're overwhelmed by smaller creatures or pack animals the fear roar is a great "save my butt" button. Though if you had to pick just 25 I can see why you left it off.
I did contemplate it but it's not really a passive ability as it is used in war or boss fights for the most part haha, these were to mainly focus on completely passive abilities :D
Might have to get back to this one day. Or maybe try Survival Ascended when it's not so riddled with bugs. I know it's not ideal, but I prefer to build my Dung Beetles and Achatinas their own enclosures where they have room to move. Though I may have to reconsider if I use that trick with the Gachas.
oviraptor was thought to reduce mating timer. but it was never confirmed by wildcard and no real proof has shown that just as a heads up. thats why its not directly mentioned on the wiki either for that dino
I tested it before recording the video with 2 sets of mate pairs of Rexes, mating one pair with the Oviraptor and the other pair without, I can't remember the exact difference but it reduced it by quite a lot! :)
@@BEYPlaysGames how many times if you dont mind me asking? because on x1 official servers for a few years now i havent noticed any notable difference with or without it especially since the mating timer can be so random naturally as is.
@@badwolf_gtv7725 Not at all! I tried 5 different occasions and every time the Rexes with the Oviraptor were considerably lower cooldowns, but if that is true, I must have got very lucky😁I'd be willing to test some more and see what I find!
May not see this but on console how do you change your max difficulty to 150? I saw your video on scorched earth with 150 dinos and wondering how I could achieve the same?
Hey mate! I actually rented a server to record that playthrough so the server set up is a little different but I'm pretty sure when in the settings for Single Player there should be a tick a box 'maximum difficulty' if you select that it should have dinos spawn at level 150! Yutyrannus, Daeodons, bulbpugs, x-spinos, reaper kings and reaper queens are very awesome in genesis 2 Rockwell’s largest heart lair ☝️ I basically destroy everything without trying 😤 Since every dino does their thing. Pug for charge light anti reapers, yutyrannus damage buffs and enemy debuffs, and daeodon for healing everyone 😎 And I have a small crew with my Mek Unit patrolling the floors slaughtering any reaper or other dino fool enough to challenge me
I have an otter with roughly 2435% melee damage and I don’t know why but every tame in my island save gets tamed with an insure melee damage no matter the level

Here's a good way to think of it. That's only mildly spoilery. Anything technology can do, dinosaurs can do. They are parallel progression paths.
My favorite autofarms:
-Tame at least one mating pair of kairuku, hesperornis, or mantis (preferably all or at least multiple females) leave them on stationary breeding with a dimetrodon and caged or rocked oviraptor nearby, and get a few hyaenodons with meat packs on aggressive (obviously this works better in a confined area).
Then stick the creature you want to level in there on aggressive so it starts auto-killing babies. Automated exp farm! This is really nice for underleveled creatures or for boss prep, without taking up your full time or having to go fight death worms or anything risky. If you want a "baby monitor" you can even stick a parasaur in there on alert mode and it'll go off whenever an unclaimed baby is there.
Note that for both to work smoothly you may have to change your PvE settings in the advanced tab. Certain settings won't let your creatures ping babies as hostiles.

Yep, I recorded the clips, voiceover to showcase it and everything and forgot to even put it into my video, you can see on the last clip in the video where my character is waving stood next to my Andrewsarchus I am actually outside the Rock Drake Nest cave on Fjordur, last clips I recorded of my video and still forgot to put it in when editing 🤣🤣😂
Thanks to you, now I know what I gonna do and what I gonna tame first, nice guide video
Thanks! :D Glad I could help!
Thanks for all the amazing videos dude!
No worries! :D
Excellent info here, I usually stay on the island so there are still things I don't know about the dinos that are not on the island. Thanks for the education!
Awesome! Glad it was helpful! No problem!!
@@BEYPlaysGames I did just run into the new thing in the swamp. I ran away lol
The Rhyniognatha? Haha@@chaoseclipse0305
@@BEYPlaysGames yea i need to research it... i dont know what theyre capable of and i havevt played in awhile... i was on my argent and had an otter. Didnt want to risk them
Yeah I wouldn't, very dangerous haha! I've actually got a video releasing later today with as much info about them that I could cram into it XD@@chaoseclipse0305
Great video! Learnt something new! :)
Awesome! Thank you!
Spectacular vid mate!
Thanks! :D
dude your channel is so underrated
Thank you!!
that is a fire thumbnail🔥
Thank you! :D
Great vid and very informative!!
Thank you! :D
long time no seen from me hehe nice video im thinking returning to ark :-) 🤣had a few month break to play Warframe if you know that video game
Hello mate! It has been a while! I have heard of it, never played it though! Hope you've enjoyed your break! :D
what map should i play on for solo play? i just started playing a week ago
I'd say The Island is great for beginners but if you're up for a challenge and would like access to more varieties of creatures to tame then Fjordur is the best in my opinion!
thanks. some of this was really helpful
No problem!
i thought i knew everything. Very useful video
Thank you! Glad it was helpful! :)
Andrewsarchus is my #1 favorite creature, you’re basically driving an amphibious Tank than can outrun fliers.
Great video mate!!
Great video! Very helpful!
Thanks mate!
Just came back to ark after a few years , the unicorn also boosts dino xp like the lystro.
Is the otter storage thing works on mobile too?
I'm honestly not sure sorry!
It does! I'm on mobile with my scarf-otter as we speak lol
Yeah I totally agree! Would love to see a TLC for them! They are definitely kinda useless at mid-late game :(
Morellatops, carno, megalodon, icthy (dolphin) all need tlc in my opinion.
Ah, I see now. Sorry I missed that part.@@BEYPlaysGames
Awesome vid mate!
Thanks mate!
I had no bugs and I played it for 2weeks only shading and light is really no good on ps5
The best ARK UA-camr! 😁
Thanks! :D
Love the video bro!
Great video bro!
Thanks mate!
They're magical leopluradonsss they're gonna show us the wayyy
Welcome to Ark survival evolved where everything is dangerous
I had NO IDEA the argy had weight reduction on anything. That makes my crystal runs twice as efficient!
Since when did oviraptors speed up mating time this is gonna help me so much.
Great video!😁
Thanks! 😁
the liopleurodon really is magical
The otter also attacks bugs, including bees, that attack you
Oh my. I did not know that about sinos
Dung beetle also holds owl pellets forever I have em set to toss out to my gachas
Trex do fit In maes think gigas are the only ones that don't witch Is kinda confusing since meas can also hold brontos
Yeah they do but I don't think they fit in the Procoptodon!
oviraptor was thought to reduce mating timer. but it was never confirmed by wildcard and no real proof has shown that just as a heads up. thats why its not directly mentioned on the wiki either for that dino
I always thought it wasn't guaranteed but can give a good chance of the mating timer being lower once mated!
nice video btw can I use maewing milk as a substitute for wyvern milk
Thank you! And umm Maewing milk? haha
@@BEYPlaysGames like when you enable the nursing mode
@@dandy_daniel Haha sadly not! 😁
@@BEYPlaysGames thanks for the info
Love the videos Bey!!
Thanks mate!
Every time I see a liopleurodon, it shows me the way 😆
does the liopleurodon interact with gacha?
Unfortunately not!
Is this for mobile,PC and console?
PC and console! Mobile works completely different to the original game from what I've seen :)
Do a dino wipe first when you start up the server!
@@BEYPlaysGames My max difficulty (forced) is 120 tho
@@smudge4605 Forced 120? Where does it state that? Is that even after ticking the Max difficulty box?
@@BEYPlaysGames unfortunately yes. bit weird
@@smudge4605 Hmmmm, I don't think i've ever encountered that before!! I don't play console anymore though So I would have to check my console to be sure!
Such a good video!!
Thank you!!
Great vid mate, would love to see you do more videos like the last 2 you've uploaded! They've been a big hit for me!! It seems like others share my opinion! :D
Thanks mate!! Glad you've enjoyed them!
Very good video! I usually forget about half these creatures and what they can do lol, added to favorites!!
Awesome! Thank you!
👌👌Great vids!
Thanks!
Yutyrannus, Daeodons, bulbpugs, x-spinos, reaper kings and reaper queens are very awesome in genesis 2 Rockwell’s largest heart lair ☝️ I basically destroy everything without trying 😤 Since every dino does their thing. Pug for charge light anti reapers, yutyrannus damage buffs and enemy debuffs, and daeodon for healing everyone 😎 And I have a small crew with my Mek Unit patrolling the floors slaughtering any reaper or other dino fool enough to challenge me
Amazing video!
Thanks mate!
I have an otter with roughly 2435% melee damage and I don’t know why but every tame in my island save gets tamed with an insure melee damage no matter the level
Wow haha, are you playing Single Player?
What are ur server settings
Not sure off the top of my head, what did you want to know?
