Editing my first video on LumaFusion right now and this was super helpful, man. I can see myself using the XML export feature pretty regularly to have an edit in the works before I sit down at my desk to really dial everything in.
When you do screen recording on your ipad, CPU performance goes nuts. This can effect LumaFusion functionality and stability. I experience this issue all the time when I record my DJI tutorials from iPhone. Because you got mac, you can use quicktime to record your ipad/iphone screen by using airplay. Which helps reduce CPU usage :)
e1darie1 I used an HDMI recorder before which worked the best because it is the highest quality. It’s the way I will always do it. But the external drive was plugged in so I couldn’t for this one.
Wow. I just changed my mind now about if I should buy the next iPad Pro or the next Macbook Pro. Now I'll just get the iPad. Thanks Lee. And btw your studio lighting setup is strait fuego.
damn, i had no idea you could even do this on an ipad lol. We use it mostly for movie time on long car rides with the fam! I need to get my own damn toy ;), things have changed so much! Great video Lee!
I just bought LumaFusion and I am impressed, although importing files on the iPad is a lot slower and cumbersome, and no progress bar that I can see. I am tempted to buy this export function, although I wish color corrections would transfer as well. It seems that with LF I can paste color correction on a clip and it can replace an existing one. While in FCPX the the color corrections go on top of the existing, making it more cumbersome (maybe I am missing something). I subscribed to your channel.
Great video! Been considering the Ipad Pro now after LumaFushion added the new FCPX exporting features. Once you import your files into the Ipad Pro from the Gnarbox, can you unplug the Gnarbox?
Jufloca yeah I was surprised. My reaction was like “this is not an update it’s a paid add on” I dunno. I personally wouldn’t care if I needed the feature. But for most people I don’t think it would be worth it to spend that much extra
Jufloca i would disagree and say that given the capabilities of the app, the 20-30 price range is excellent value. Final cut export is a niche tool to have, but if you do need it, I find it easy to justify, especially since this may be used for paid work.
Shouldn't USB C be good enough to use externally located files without importig? Video files can be huge and it forses you to pay more for ipad with more disk space.
Computer. Because iPad pro functionality (software) is very limited. But I'm planning to buy iPad for video editing instead )) Subscribe me, I will share my experience then.
Hello, read good night, I hope you are very well in this quarantine that grieves us all so much because of the sad things that happen, a query, what is the name of that external device that you have there? I wish you could save my photos and videos in something external and make it more practical to pass it to my Ipad and luma Fusión, I hope you can help me with that. thank you very much, big hug from Argentina, greetings
@@LeeZavitz I'm in very need for advice. As I can't touch devices now in shops. And I can't make decision if 12.9 is comfortable for the whole day on sofa, mostly browsing and video editing, also photo editing. As for me 11 looks pretty, but 12.9 is more for work but it is massive to handle in hands the whole day. Can you give me advices? Also, i'm worry that 12.9 is better for eyes...
@@alexanderv.753 Im happy with the 11" most people I know feel the same way. If you think you will be working off it a lot like a laptop then it makes sense to get the bigger iPad.
@@LeeZavitz what do you mean like a laptop? I working the whole day on my mac, now I want to transfer my browsing , video and photo editing to iPad Pro. Is it convenient to use 12.9 on the sofa, handling it in one hand etc... It will not move out of home frequently, but sometimes it will. I don't edit videos everyday. As you said i will use it for everything else. Also, i want to use sidecar a lot for maybe FCPX and other software (full Photoshop) if it turns speedy. I worry that 11 is not good for eyes if you work the whole day - is it a myth?
I’ve made a few gfx100 videos when I had the camera but they get insanely low views. So I can assume not many people (besides you) care about the camera all that much. Probably because it’s $10k
What the Fffffffff! You should have said it was a paid add on from the start. I literally bought it because of what you said, and now I have to buy some more!!!

actually dope when traveling
Nice! That's a pretty awesome feature. I've been doing a lot of iPad editing so I'm totally going to check this out.
John Branch IV Photography is that app purchase for lifetime or we getting charged after every month?
Great tutorial 👍 you’re a natural

I'm sick of not having digital stabilisation, it's the only thing keeping from using it

Yeah man. Lumafusion is so good. Its missing a lot from a full desktop experience but it's still pretty crazy what it can do on an iPad.

hey bro do you have any videos on what you feel is the best way to export to different platforms?!
if your using the gnarbox, couldn't you create your proxy files before importing them to luma?
The iPad is way more fun to edit on but have never been able to edit my XT3 H.265 10 bit files. Will try again. Thanks
Seeing the price of the export function compared to the initial cost of the App, it’s a Macro transaction, rather than a micro one...
Jufloca yeah I was surprised. My reaction was like “this is not an update it’s a paid add on” I dunno. I personally wouldn’t care if I needed the feature. But for most people I don’t think it would be worth it to spend that much extra
Lee, I guess this makes it a moot point for us PC users anyway.
But that’s a bit steep, even for an App as useful and powerful as LumaFusion.

Should be but it’s not how it works unfortunately. Maybe it’s how Apple does things or just how LumaFusion works. It has to transfer
It stinks like Apple to me.
@@LeeZavitz so if we make a copy from external drive to iPad then open it in LumaFusion it makes another one copy on the device?
Your videos are great ... I just want to know a little something .... i pad pro or good computer for good vodeo edditin...?

The warnings are because you're using 10bit files. It doesn't interfere with program operation....
Can you add external transitions, luts, effects onto lumafusion?
Do you edit your Sony HLG2 footage in LumaFusion? If so, any tips.
This is great. Thanks.
Super cool video! I have a question.. If I use a Windows keyboard with the usb adapter can I use this comands?? Thanks for sharing!!
I think yes - windows button should work as cmd.
Bro Can you please help me to get lumafusion on my iPhone?
I was suprised to see that the ipad could play the 10 bit 4k easily while macbook struggled. HOW?

As I understand you are using iPad Pro 11? Is it convenient enough to work in LumaFusion on 11?
I love the size. The 12.9 is massive to use for other normal things. But if you plan to only use it for editing bigger is maybe better

a 30dollar upgrade and it won't carry grading across. Not sure I can see the point TBH.
Make more GFX100 BTS please!

Lee Zavitz but it’s not about this exact camera, it’s about technology. Tomorrow Fuji make another one with lower price but with same tech inside.
