My Library Haul - Books I'm Reading
Вставка
- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- Hello everyone and welcome to a short video about what books I borrowed from the library recently.
A bit of a mixed bag really I think and sometimes that's a good thing as I like to see how I can link them in some way.
So I have the next couple of weeks reading sorted out for me now. What are you reading? Do you know any of these authors or read these books? Thoughts?

Greetings from Texas. A while back I can conversation via comments with Tom L.A. Books about a Divine Comedy life lesson book. I don't know if you know his channel, but Tom has been reading and commenting on the entire Divine Comedy for several years. He liked the idea and it's true about many books. Montaigne, whom I've been reading in the mornings, took his life lessons from life and ancient readings to compose his insightful essays. He relied a lot on Plutarch's books, which I too have been revisiting thanks to him.
Somerset Maugham's short stories are brilliant. Two that come to mind, one about a woman who has turned 50 is having a conversation with a male friend. Her much younger boyfriend has broken up with her for a younger woman. Her reaction to it is interesting and delightful. Another one, much darker, an English man visiting Spain meets a a Spaniard at a bull fight. The stranger invites him to his home and introduces him to his wife. He then shares an anecdote about someone he knew and the consequences of jealousy. If you find his short stories, I recommend them.
Wonderful! Thank you for letting me know about these stories. I went to a book store tonight and tried to find his short stories but all they had was Razor’s Edge. I’ll find them at the library I’m sure. Thanks for watching and giving me these recommendations. I’ll check out the UA-cam channel you mentioned. I started reading Divine Comedy this year but……I got sidetracked in my reading of other books. 🤣
So sorry to hear about your loss 😢
Thanks Priya. 🙏Our pets as you know, mean so much to us as they’re our family. I enjoyed our catchup today. Take care and we will catch up again soon. 🧶 📚
