Also, I would love to see you make color mixtures with the phthalo blues and greens & show us the difference between the ones that are “blue shades, green shades, and yellow shades, etc”. That is so confusing to most of us

I notice that, in the end, you don't use ultramarine blue for any of your mixtures. Of course it's still valued for its own sake, and for mixing less saturated colors. But you have demonstrated that a greenish blue like manganese blue can make a nice violet, which is awesome!

Also, please add to them to make them around 10 min. Would be about ideal to expand on the ideas you’re sharing. Plus ~10min is optimal for UA-cam algorithms I think. I hope these videos succeed for you they’re great.

Please, I would like to see you mix the six combinations you didn't try!
SCARLET + LEMON (how are the oranges? do we really need two yellows?)
SCARLET + MANGANESE (complements that make near black?)
MAGENTA + ULTRAMARINE (are the violets any better than those with manganese?)
MAGENTA + YELLOW MEDIUM (how are those oranges? is the fault with the yellow or with the magenta?)
LEMON + ULTRAMARINE (how are the greens? is the fault with the yellow or with the ultramarine?)
YELLOW MEDIUM + MANGANESE (does medium yellow really ruin the greens?)

I'm also interested in the CMY(K) palette. Can you make that with Old Holland mono-pigmented paints? And which black would you use with it?

    • @EulogyfortheAngels
      @EulogyfortheAngels 2 роки тому +7

A great, single pigment OH CMYK palette would be:
      OH Magenta (Quin Magenta)
Scheveningen Yellow Lemon (Hansa Yellow Lemon)
      Caribbean Blue (cool Pthalo blue)
      Titanium White (opaque white)
      Scheveningen Intense Black (Lamp Black)
The oranges might be a bit underwhelming because of the cool temperatures of the colors, but you could still make any secondary/tertiary color with reasonable saturation. It should match most colors seen in nature (with some high chroma exceptions). Adding in Scheveningen Yellow Deep, Scheveningen Red Orange, and Ultramarine Blue (very warm red-yellow-blue primaries) would make an amazing palette that could mix just about anything, with high tinting strength as well!

Which red is the in the middle: in between cool & warm?
I would like to see mixtures with it instead of scarlet or magenta.

great videos thanks. !How can I tell which are warm and cool colours on your colour chart. ? Is there an indication code on chart to tell me if warm or cold? I too want to have warm and cool primary colour sets but I dont want to use cadmiums. Can you advise me please? I am hoping that madder lake, old holland blue and schveningen lemon will all go together. But I don not know if these are warm, cold or a mix of both. thankyou

Hello what's the code for old Holland primary blue

I learn the same at school. It seems like primary colors as we imagine does not exist. It's a theory but not applicable.
