    The Hightower is gone! Surprised how much better I like 27.5. I thought I was going to miss 29! The Bronson is RAD!

      Surprised you moved from 29'ers, when it seems like it's the latest thing in Enduro racing. I guess when Sam Hill can wreck everyone on a 27.5, it just goes to show that it's not 29'er or bust just yet, right? I've been on a carbon Patrol for a few years now, and I've ridden several 29'ers, and while I enjoy them, I never get back on my bike and think..."Yeah, I like that bike better," so I see no reason to switch at this point.
      I'll be interested to see what you think when you go on a long pedal ride with 3-4K feet of elevation, and more than 18 or so miles. I keep hearing that the roll over helps long term efficiency versus 27.5, and that's something I haven't tested in practice yet. I did notice that on 29'ers, once you get them up to speed, they do seem to "truck along the trail" a little better with less pedaling to maintain momentum, but that is the only advantage I have witnessed first-hand. Other than that, I think they are a little more sluggish feeling, don't jump quite as well, and are heavier in general. THOUGHTS?

      Awesome video and super awesome trail, I am in the market for santa cruz bike my first choice is the HTLT but I am hearing so much about the bronson so I am having a hard time deciding. Is it possible if you can share an input with me regarding your experience between the two? Thank you so much

      Willbros My Thoughts are that you’re very close in that analogy... But when riding “At Speed” Maneuverability may play the biggest roll as far as feel & comfort in the bikes geometry vs. just wheel size alone. I’m almost thinking a Shorter travel 29 makes the most sense when you look at it roll ability over longer distances..because mostly steep short DH style riding is all intuitive to the Rider and their feedbacks playing the bigger control factor vs just Size & Speed. The Bronson looks super snappy and plenty of ground hugging control!! Stoked you’re having a ton of fun on the New Bike!!!

      What are you liking better about the 27.5's? I too am considering getting a Bronson and selling my Hightower.

      I just switched from a Yeti SB5.5 to a Transition Patrol and it rips. Not looking back. SBG is legit. Was also looking at the Bronson. I think we may see some trending back to 27.5 inch wheels, especially those set up with 2.5 or 2.6 inch tires. 27.5 feels quicker in acceleration and tight corners and keeps wheelbase shorter on bikes with long reach numbers.

    As a newby to the sport, I watch other mountain bike channels and think to myself, "I could probably ride that trail." But when I watch your videos (which I love by the way) I'm like, "Naaaah bruh, not doing that!" Thanks for bringing us along on your rides.

      Seriously. I’m not a nube and love going fast and cutting it close but I’m thinking I wouldn’t walk away from the resulting crash. I’m not going to bouncing through the trees at what looks like the plus side 40mph. Gnar!

    You, sir, can ride. One of the better MTB vids I’ve seen in a long time. Absolutely ripping. I just picked up a carbon Bronson after demoing one in Pisgah, such a capable bike.

    @trailpeek can you explain a little bit more the difference between the HT (LT if possible) vs Bronson 3 in term of climbing, playfullness, downhill? I'm searching a playful do it all bike and like a lot to play with the ground. Like a lot the efficiency of the LT but was lacking the fun factor (playing with the ground and changing direction).

    • @TrailPeek
      @TrailPeek  6 років тому +1

      Id say the LT and Bronson climb similarly, theres a lot of geo differences between the two bikes. The Bronson is going to be more playful, in my experience, and because of the smaller wheels and chainstays. Hope that helps!

    Hi Trail peek, what is your tire combination? I have the Bronson V3 S+ build and running 2.6 Front and rear . I’m thinking what would be a nice setup / tire size combination front and rear? Thanks!

    • @TrailPeek
      @TrailPeek  6 років тому +2

      Right now I am running WTB Trail Boss 2.6 Tough/Fast rolling up front and a 2.4 Trail Boss Tough/Fast Rolling in the rear. Pretty solid all around set up. If you need something to dig deeper I suggest the new Vigilantes or Judges.

    • @ivansarajev49
      @ivansarajev49 5 років тому

      We are in the same boat, im testing both next week so I will let you know. From my research so far the Bronson is better all purpose mtb. But if you want something more DH oriented than Nomad is the right choice. I live in Vancouver btw so the terrain is similar to Vancouver Island.

  • @caseycavakico2190

    I think I'll invent a drag chute for people who want to enjoy the downhill longer, so it'll slow them down to 1/2 - 2/3 speed without bakin' brakes & boiling fluid
