Best part of this video, is the fact that when I finally saw VH live in 2012, the opening act was... yep, you guessed it! Kool And The Gang... 😂
Wow, that's Kool!
So, you're saying they could've done this live? 🤯
@WonkoTheSaneUK well, it was DLR on the stick, so...
Yup. Nashville. Saw that same show.
I saw that too! Saw them at Staples Center
It feels like Bill isnt even trying anymore.
Because he just makes it look and sound so easy and natrual
Or feels that way because it was boring as fak? Two really dull songs can never make one good one - no matter how good Master Bill is.
@@UberLummox Compared to what? Or are you here just to be a troll?
@@UberLummox- Because You've written better? 😂 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤪
@@clevername1349 Uuuuh compared to songs that *aren't* boring as fak perhaps?
And yes, I'm a troll....sure. Because you don't agree w/me.
@@davidpaul6656 Another copy & paste junior? I can smell the tr*mp TR45H from here.
Thumbs up from all who agree we need a Bill McClintoc radio station!!!
Oh HELL yeah!!!
The recording industry needs to award Bill for some of the masterpieces he's woven together.
🫵🏻🌎🎶🫶🏼 We love you Bill. Creating New #1's hits for some artists that have long ago passed away. Thank you sir. Each one them makes this a better world. 🤟🏼
Oh yes!
Bill McClintock in '24. The key to world peace, and that key is the key of Rock!

"Celebrate Both Worlds" is basically the purpose of this channel!
👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻😎✌🏻🎯🥇
Of all his mashups this one is the most emblematic of the essence of the channel 💫
My wife thinks Bill's mashups are REAL videos of bands she has never seen before! Lolin' Out Loud!
Laughing out loud out loud?
@@kitty1376 I think they meant "Rollin' On The Floor Out Loud"
Yikes... sorry to hear that.
@@tracycatt Exactly, not marriage material for me... No matter what else is on the table.
If I chuck on some music and there's not that vibing, nah. Jog on, please.
Bill's stuff is other worldly, and I really enjoy it. Same for the band, Rock Sugar.
Wives....
The mixing of Sammy's adlibs with the lyrics is so good here, 10/10
I think Bill improved on the Van Halen song.
Exactly what I was thinking!!!
It's the best of both worlds so let's celebrate!
That's what all the good soul singers can do.
Perfect thing to slip into a wedding reception when everyone expects just ‘Celebration’.
Looking forward to playing a bunch of McClintock's at the next party in which I relieve the DJ!
@@RickMacDonald19if I were at that party, I wouldn’t be able to stop smiling.
This song is indeed "the best of both worlds"!
Yougottabefaakingkiddingme
@@UberLummox- Because You've written better?? 😂
@@davidpaul6656 Because you admit all you taste is in your mouth?? 😂
The Best Of Both Worlds!
That gets 2 thumbs up.
👍 👍
The opposite would have been better, groovy
How on earth does he make it sound like a real song that I've forgotten somehow? Like everytime????
Everytime!!
It helps when both songs have the same notes/chords. The main riff of BOBW sounds just like the main riff of Celebrate.
Yeah it sounds like he moved celebration up a step so the keys would be the same but I wonder if Eddie blatantly ripped this off or did it subconsciously. I never put two and two together but that riff is closer to Celebration than Ice Ice Baby is to Under Pressure lol
The one second cameo by DLR was hysterical!
I saw it too!
Ahhh-ha! 03:25 😂
That’s the best part lmao
I can see Sammy watching this and thinking "I can get horn section to do this..." Masterful job Bill.
Michael Antony’s harmonization with Sammy at those high pitches was spectacular
Michael Anthony is sadly underrated when it comes to his harmonies and background vocals.
When he was no longer in VH, the band lost that layer and the music def suffered for it.
I'll never understand why he's not given enough credit for it!!
Amen. His backing vocals are phenomenal.
This mashup has been in my head for nearly 40 years. I've just been waiting for someone to make it.
Yeah, I remember when the VH song came out, it was pretty obvious that the melody was “Celebration”.
@@paulrichter2863main riff. Not the melody.
The Michelangelo of mashups.
It's not just the fact that he can masterfully mash the melody of the two song, but the ability to actually make the lyrics make sense as well is a whole other level entirely. Blows me away every time. 👍👍
Bill has created a whole new art form with these brilliant mash ups. No one else comes close to his song choices and editing skills. This should be a recognised musical genre.
This. ☝️
Wax Audio does
How can you have a genre that only consists of one man?
@@vadimastprojects8770 Well, Vadi(I can call you Vadi, yes? I feel like we've known each other for years, even though we've only just met 🤓), anyhoo, old mate, there are actually quite a few "mashup" artistes, just for gits and shiggles, punch in, oh, I dunno, something whacky like, ah, "mashups" into FaceTube search, and have a good ol' gander at the plethora of these fine peeps work.... just tell 'em I sent you, you'll be looked after splendidly. Y'all have fun now, y'hear?! 🤓👍
Well, it doesn’t consist of one man. Wax Audio probably made the best mashup of all time - Bee Gees and Pink Floyd. His Bee Gees and AC/DC is also great
I saw Kool and the Gang open for VH in Chicago in 2012. When the bill was announced, I thought that was a really weird combination.
Nope, it was fantastic. They played a 40 minute set, closing with Jungle Boogie, Ladies Night, Get Down On it and finally Celebration. And that VH crowd was going crazy, singing along at full volume.
10/10 for Bill, as always.
Sounds like an awesome show. I've Earth, Wind and Fire with Chicago and Chicago with Huey Lewis and both were great combos
When I first heard about that tour, I joked that if they didn't both take the stage and do a mashup of Celebration and Best of Both Worlds, it would be a wasted tour.
I saw the Houston show on that tour. It was kick ass!
In the 70s it would've caused a riot. And not in a good way...
Kool and the gang are the perfect act to open for anyone. They can get any crowd in a good mood
Are you kidding me?!?!? Bill’s knocked it out of the park again. WOW.
David Lee Roth's uncle owned a nightclub in New York where Kool and the Gang got their start. It was called the Cafe Wha and the band called themselves the Jazz Birds. Otherwise, it makes totally no sense that Kool and the Gang opened up for Van Halen's tour a back in 2012.
Andrew WK actually has a really interesting story about the first time he played in front of a crowd. It was at the Cafe Wha. I won't ruin the story in case you wanted to look it up but it's actually worth listening to. He's a great storyteller and while the story is kind of hard to listen to because of the embarrassment factor It's oddly wholesome.
(Actually now that I think about it, I wonder if the guy in the story that he talks about was David Lee Roth's uncle...if so he never knew or didn't mention it)
A soul & metal band out there HAVE to unite, learn all these McClintock mash-ups and take it on tour.
Yes, please
YES
Check out the band, Mother's Finest. Hard rock meets funk! Their heaviest album (that I have heard, that is) is "Iron Age," which is close to metal! 🙂
@@christianman73 Had a girlfriend, whose taste in music was extremely middle of the main stream road... Then I gave her Another Mother Further. I never saw anybody deep dive into soulfunk as fast as her after that 😁
@@Smo1k Right on! Kudos, to you, for giving her that great album, and introducing her to a great band!
I can't be the only one to smash that Like button even before the music starts playing, because, you know, it's Bill McC, and we know it will be epic!
I can’t wait to watch the future VH1 “Behind The Music” episode about Bill McClintock.
Bill, this mashup is flawless.
Bill made the best party soundtrack ever. Everyone around the World, come on, let's celebrate!!!
Celebrating both choruses. I love it when you don't have to leave any out.
It's almost like we're getting the best of both worlds or something.
Soul Metal forever! 🕺✨️🤘
VH is not metal
3:25 - So much to Celebrate that even *Diamond Dave* made a quick appearance!🤩 It's Fantastic, Outstanding, Simply the Best from Bill.
as usual, it was OFFICIALLY a party when dave showed up
loved the little DLR cameo
Unfortunately, putting Obnoxious Dave in there was a bad call. It was the worst part of an otherwise cool video and ruined the great vibe of this Mashup.
@@detroitdiezel7856it didn't ruin it. 😂😂😂
@@detroitdiezel7856 I see you’re one of the taller trees in “I Just Don’t Get It” Forest. It’s right near “I’m Not Budging” Gardens.
Bill took two songs I don't really care for, took their best bits, and mixed them into a seamless banger of its own. Aaand now it's in my head. Awesome.
They are both bangers. The originals and the mashup
Van Halen...with a horn section? Brilliant! Bill does it again!
I was almost certain there were at least one or two VH songs with horns until I read your comment and the first song that came to mind was "Shoot It" by David Lee Roth. So I scrolled through the VH library and it seems you're right... interesting. Clarinet even, but no horns!
That would be Aerosmith.
like most VH classics, you just can't say enough about cool papa anthony's back-up vocals...a true rock icon!
VH without Michael Anthony is not VH. End of story.
Without question the most feel-good McClintock ever. Happy af watching this and missing Eddie down deep.
Exactly how I feel too.
Another one for the soul metal playlist!
Damn, these two songs fit together so naturally.
This is spreading joy, bliss & confusion.
Can we just take a moment to not only acknowledge Bill's incredible music mash up skills but the video mash up is always spot on! Fantastic!!
I was standing up from my desktop to get ready to do laundry when I spotted this on my feed and I immediately sat back down....laundry can wait another day. A DLR split second cameo to boot 😆 Kool Halen 2024 edition.
Thanks Bill for giving us the, "Best of both worlds"!
Rest In Power 🙏 Eddie Van Halen.
Rest In Power 🙏 William
" Kool " Bell.
Nothing like a little Van Hagar and the Gang to start the day
Another stroke of genius. You could almost think it's just a little prettified version of the original. 👍
Flawless. It’s like both bands played that song together. Good job.
Dammit Bill......I don't know how you got the talent to put songs together that have no business being together, but it's absolutely amazing and they bring a lot of fun and great music to a lot of people. Thanks for being a genius and for using your powers to create so much goodness in this crazy world!
Bill did it again, a strait up banger❤ 👏👏👏
This just might be his finest offering to date, and that’s saying something!!!
I celebrate every time Bill puts out another seamless banger !!! thanks Bill👍🏻
More of a tapper than a banger...if that.
Awesome as usual. Thanks for existing, Bill McClintock!
Kaizen....makimg something good better every time to reach greatness. Bill you are amazing!
It was a long running joke for years that Van Halen's Best of Both Worlds musically sounded too much like Kool & The Gang's Celebration. This video finally proves it!
I'm imagining Michael Anthony's backing vocals in Kool and the gang. Glorious.
Uncle Bill, thank you for not forgetting the legacy of the King Edward Van Halen.
This mashup has been living in my head rent-free for YEARS! It's about time someone realized this. This is the quintessential mashup for anyone living in St. Louis - Cardinals' early 80s World Series victory song + Sammy Hagar. They just love Sammy over in St. Louis. KSHE-95 would've played this every hour on the hour back in the day.
Oh my. Mr. McClintock, you have outdone yourself. Absolutely amazing.
No other collaboration sums up Bill McClintock's Mashups than THIS!!!
Yes!!! Another video! 'VAN- KOOL' ...WOO !!😮
Takk!
Thank you!
Thank you for making fantastic tracks for us to enjoy!😊
Truly the Best Celebration of Both Worlds with You!!!!!!! FIRE!!!!!
This. Is. Incredible.
Sounds natural.
...and Diamond Dave still shows up!!! Win!
Genius! I liked the Diamond Dave Easter Egg!
Soul Metal is back again 🤘👌🕺
Words can't express how much I love your work.
Sneaky DLR at 3:27 !
Wow, I wasn't expecting that! Fan-f'n-tastic!!!!!
I never expected to hear a remix of celebration.
Crazy
I was out cruising in the sunny weather & got a hunch that Bill must have realised a new song by now. I was correct with a 40 minute difference.
Also this is my favourite Van Halen song & the anthem me & the guys played every spring/summer party back in the day. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Bill, I didn't think you could get any better, You are a cutter of the highest order.
This is instantly one of my top 5 McClintock faves! The best Van Halen mash imo.
And this video edit is a celebration on its own.
I'll never listen to these two songs again, without thinking of this mashup! Brilliant!
One of Bill’s finest to date - the editing and mixing speaks for itself; but the track is just so damned feel-good, the vibe and overall message so positive! I have a huge grin on my face 😂
+1 for the Roth cameo!!
Never before did a mashup get a more fitting title ❤
I've always told people this was the same chord progression as "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. A band I was in at the time around '86 actually did a fusion of the two songs just like this. I was a huge Van Halen fan at the time. Eddie was my biggest guitar influence. Great memories. I'm thrilled McClintock put this together. Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hit like before it started ...there is no doubt.
Jeder dieser Mixe ist so genial; Titel oder Genre, die ich kopfmäßig nie zsammengesteckt hätte, erscheinen hier völlig neu und beinahe immer megacool. Dieser hier ist ebenfalls absolut gelungen! Love it !
My favorite part of these videos is usually the guest guitar solos, but as soon as I saw this one I went "probably just leave it alone, because EVH, right?" Also, it's CRAZY how well this pairing works, vocally, instrumentally, and compositionally.
Sheer magic! Well done... AGAIN!
Always on Point Bill
Thanks for a great mash.
🤣👍🥃
As soon as I heard Eddie's intro, I started singing the 'Celebrate good times lyrics' to it. Seamless as always Bill, nice...
Wow! Just wow! Got me from the first note! Bill McClintock is the Man of Men on these combinations!
I don't think I'm at all exaggerating by saying that these mashups get better and better each time! Each one is more flawless than the last! Metal Soul lives and breathes eternal!
I wish all your mashups were on Spotify so I could blast them in my work truck all day. Love what you do, Bill. Keep up the great mashups! 😁
I swear. Each one is more brilliant than the last. It just flows so well! I mean, that being said, Now we know where Eddie got the hook from.
Those Roth devotees would really hate this. Aside from that, we have another winner from Mr McClintock. Great Job! 👍
I’ve been saying these songs have sounded so much alike for years and I always wanted to hear them mashed together. Thank you Bill!!
IT WAS GENIUS TO COMBINE THE SOULFUL TUNE TO ROCK- THANK U BILL MCCLINTOCK '' GOD BLESS ''!!!!!!!
The flash of DLR towards the end was pure genius!!!
And Van Halen as your Third Act Surprise?
So meta!
Hats off to you, Sir 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
Truly the best of both worlds ❤
No guest soloist needed! Eddie is the King 🤘!!
Yup, another absolute stunner from McClintock!!
You've done it again Bill! 👯💃
Yes! More ear candy from Bill! Thanks so much 😊!
STELLAR MASHUP! 10 out of 10! 2 of my favorite bands and songs! THIS WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME!!!🤩😍🥳🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Genius, absolute genius work! I see you couldn't leave David Lee Roth out of this! Hahaha!
Finally! The sequel to Kool & the Riot's "Bang Your Head (It's a Celebration)" that we didn't know we needed!
Awesome mashup. This is a perfect match right there. 🎶 🎵 Celebrate good tunes! Rock on! 🎶🎵 😎🤘🏻🎸
I'm pretty sure Bill made this one specifically for me.
How did you know that I am a bassist in a wedding band working on nailing the synchopated vocals/bassline to Celebration as we speak? Now I know the secret - just sing like Michael Anthony! Problem solved!! Much apprecited!!
Ooh, this was ambitious. I like how in this one, the bands don't each have their clearly defined role in the song as a whole. They all just jump in whenever it fits, and it still works. Definitely one of the most thoroughly fused mashups I've seen here.
Bill!!! What does one say! You truly are the master of what you do 👍👍
Thanks for sharing your amazing skill 🎶🎵🎸🎸
Damn, this is really cool!!! Love the Diamond Dave easter egg :)
this is probably the best Mashup I've ever heard. And the fact that I saw Kool n the Gang open for Van Halen( w/Roth), back in 2012 makes it even more special to me.
This sounds like someone hit record in an afterparty jam session. Killer work, Bill!
Yes!!!!! I've been saying these songs are damn near the same riff for years! Thank you, Bill, for making my dream come true! Woop woop! 😅
EXCELLENT! And if this was 1986 again, this tour could actually happen.
