I'm inclined to agree that I think even after you've completed however many series you want, I personally would be happy to watch videos of just your normal gameplay with your normal commentary. So basically in the same format (from your stream). You (@flakes) are seriously one of the living legends of this game and I think I speak for the majority of your community when I say that we just genuinely enjoy watching you play and learning from you. Not to mention you're hella funny.
I’ve recommended this series so many times now. Helped me a lot so far. Don’t count yourself out flakes, everyone has a lame and can extend that lane if they want to. Don’t speak on yourself like you can’t be on the level of other content creators, because you can be.
When this series is completed, I wouldn’t mind a revamp of the 1v1 and 2v2 series but with the twist of demonstrating how to properly use mechanics. Rather than “without mechanics”. I think that’d be pretty cool.

Hi Flakes - You make the absolute best RL training videos. Please keep going. Even just watching you play while narrating your decisions (like you do in these "no mechanics" videos) would be fantastic. I would watch every single one. It's so helpful to continually see proof that I don't have to spend months learning how to flip reset to be able to rank up. No one else (that I know of anyway) is creating content like this, so you've got basically no competition and a whole bunch of people who will keep watching.

I always in the back of my mind when I vod review tell myself to play like this, but I've really committed this mindset and for a hot minute I was almost c3, fell a bit because of a rough stretch of games. Now I'm back in high c1, and honestly loving the game because this way of playing is also just so much more fun. I really look forward to these videos, I hope your channel doesn't die. Road to SSL 1v1 with mechanics would be absolutely insane. I miss seeing you play normally, there is a lot to be learned from the way you play naturally.
As far as YT content goes, just repeating the "no mechanics to SSL in 1v1/2v2" series every 12-18 months or so would be solid. Replay analysis videos likewise-basically infinite content there. And it doesn't have to be super frequent either. A lower-effort Twitch clip or VOD channel is way better than no channel at all, basically. Tryharding YT content creation is a losing game, but it doesn't have to be like that.
Yeah, or a road to rank one. Showcasing your playstyle in the highest ranks would also be really interesting to me & being on top of the leaderboards is free publicity. I would love to see you queue into some other pros that I watch like ApparentlyJack or Scrub Killa

I'd love to see Flakes vs Scrub where both record a video of the game along with commentary from their point of view. The vastly different playing styles would make it super interesting to watch the same game twice, first as Flakes, then as Scrub. Would probably work well with a different opponent too, I just haven't watched that much RL to know who the other top players are. Flakes is the man though.

Filled with inflated ego, ff-ing very quick and if you vote "No!", they alt+f4. But ranks are not on the same page. Silvers are not Plats, and Plats are not SSL (as they think they are ^_^' sometimes).

This series is one of the best for a "newbie". You don't need to practice hard mechanics, when positioning and reading the game can take you far longer. I started playing rocket league March 2020 casually, I'm at around 300hrs played, this series is both entertaining and educational. Sad to hear you're stopping putting this content out, but thanks for your hard work. You're the best.

@@fzxfzxfzx Mostly play more calculated ! I used to always kick the ball back to the opponents in defense for example, and now I tend to keep it and try to outplay instead. With a simple touch to the right or left you can often be in 1v1s when attacking, and then you can often score those. Looking at my teammates is a big thing, knowing if they make the same mistakes consistently can help me avoid overcomitting, etc.
Honestly i haven't been following this series that closely, but you are doing insane stuff and now i will be using this as my only hope for leveling up. You make plat level mechanics win in grand champ...youve put a lot into this series, just keep trusting the process bro

nice I almost peaked 1700 in 3s and 2s but I can only can reach c3 in 1s. I should watch my replays in 1s to actually look at what I'm lacking. since boost management is key in 3s, flakes low mechanical style doesn't need a lot of boost. my kick offs consistency is dog water.

I think if you hopefully show us how to babysit our 3s teammates, you could go over the mechanics that we could get the most out of adding once we hit a point where we'll struggle too much. So a guide over what to learn once we've gotten very good at cuts. It doesn't even have to be a goal rank, just some SSL gameplay where you go over things that are extremely effective that people can learn at most ranks
I know you said you are not a youtuber, but you pretty easily could be. I mean you have an excellent ability to relay what you are doing and why you are doing it so I would 100% watch you playing on your main account ranked 1s,2s,3s. Also ofc would watch 3s series and it would be interesting, because you have so much less space than even 2s and even more teammates to run into you so idk how effective this style can be at least when I try it in 3s.

I don't usually comment, but I'd like to chime in an say I'd definitely wanna see a 3v3 series like this and also as someone who watches Leth and Apparentlyjack among a few others, I'd even like to watch some videos on your high level ranked play in any of the modes as well. I don't think videos always have to be part of a specific sort of series, just seeing you play some high level ranked games would be nice too. Just my 2 cents.

How do you single-jump touch the ball without your car coming off at a weird angle? Whenever I do it, I have to air roll to get straight again and lose momentum. Flakes seems to do it effortlessly as if the ball hasn’t change the path of his car in the slightest?
@@vanyel_etc8695 just to clarify, what I mean is that when I single jump touch the ball to control / advance the play, I seem to bounce off it. Does leaning back help reduce/eliminate that?
hm, generally that means you're hitting the ball with the wrong part of your car, when you hit the ball with your front wheels they'll kind of bounce off the ball and push you backwards. However, the reason that could be happening is because you're spending too long realigning your car with air roll, and that can be helped by leaning back on your take off. I used to coach and it was a very common error that I noticed.
Go in free play, get ball on ur car, single jump. Voila, good job, practice more, practice hopping multiple times so after you single jump and ball is falling down, you single jump again, ball goes back up, cool, you land & get ready to single jump again. Practice my friend ^^
@@FlakesRL no sorry, I don’t mean bouncing the ball. Imagine the ball is slightly bouncing towards me or away from me & I want to get a single jump touch to control it. When I try to, my car seems to bounce off it slightly awkwardly, which means I have to recover a little bit & lose time/momentum. Hard to explain but hey ho. Love the vids man, keep up the great work!
I guess just looking at your opponent with more intention of checking if they’re pushing up quickly/how far up they are, I guess I just figured he was far away / not coming at me with threatening speed from that distance so I waited until he got a lil closer

I don't usually comment, but I'd like to chime in an say I'd definitely wanna see a 3v3 series like this and also as someone who watches Leth and Apparentlyjack among a few others, I'd even like to watch some videos on your high level ranked play in any of the modes as well. I don't think videos always have to be part of a specific sort of series, just seeing you play some high level ranked games would be nice too.

How do you single-jump touch the ball without your car coming off at a weird angle? Whenever I do it, I have to air roll to get straight again and lose momentum. Flakes seems to do it effortlessly as if the ball hasn’t change the path of his car in the slightest?

@@vanyel_etc8695 just to clarify, what I mean is that when I single jump touch the ball to control / advance the play, I seem to bounce off it. Does leaning back help reduce/eliminate that?
hm, generally that means you're hitting the ball with the wrong part of your car, when you hit the ball with your front wheels they'll kind of bounce off the ball and push you backwards.
However, the reason that could be happening is because you're spending too long realigning your car with air roll, and that can be helped by leaning back on your take off. I used to coach and it was a very common error that I noticed.
Go in free play, get ball on ur car, single jump. Voila, good job, practice more, practice hopping multiple times so after you single jump and ball is falling down, you single jump again, ball goes back up, cool, you land & get ready to single jump again. Practice my friend ^^
@@FlakesRL no sorry, I don’t mean bouncing the ball. Imagine the ball is slightly bouncing towards me or away from me & I want to get a single jump touch to control it. When I try to, my car seems to bounce off it slightly awkwardly, which means I have to recover a little bit & lose time/momentum. Hard to explain but hey ho. Love the vids man, keep up the great work!

I guess just looking at your opponent with more intention of checking if they’re pushing up quickly/how far up they are, I guess I just figured he was far away / not coming at me with threatening speed from that distance so I waited until he got a lil closer
