- This rendition celebrates Rabindranath Tagore's time spent in the West. Western melodies had inspired him to compose incredibly beautiful songs, three of which we tried putting together as a medley. The first song Phuley Phuley Dholey Dholey was inspired by the Scottish folk song Ye Banks and Braes, and the song Drink to Me Only With Thine Eyes, written by the English playwright Ben Jonson, went on to influence Tagore's melody for Kotobaro Bhebechhinu. Ending on a nostalgic note to depict the bringing together of people from different parts of the world - Purano Shei Diner Kotha, Tagore's inspiration from the very well-known Auld Lang Syne.

I am in a real fix! I have listened to and watched all the five published videos of TagoreCovers almost a million times each! But I am unable to figure out which rendition is the best. And, I am also trying to figure out who is my favourite singer.
Shuvanon Rajit has a solid unmistakable classical grain in his voice which adds weight to his husky male voice. He has a beautiful bass and that has shown itself in the English portion of this song too.
Avik Deb has one of the sweetest young male voices in the whole of Bengal (Bangladesh and West Bengal combined). The duet by Rajit and Avik, "Anandodhara Bohichhe Bhubone" is an absolute treat. He makes singing look so easy!
As for the female voices, it is very, very difficult to differentiate between them. Obichchheddo troyee. All three singers (Nashroh Naziat, Adrina Jamilee and Sharad Proteeti) are extremely pleasing to the ears. All three have immaculate pronunciation with the right stress on the right word.
Anusha (Nashroh Naziat) has a deeply sensual but soothing voice. The appeal of her voice is very subtle but its sweetness engulfs the listener's mind almost immediately. Premer gaan-er jonno ei voice ekdom boshano! Adrina has a powerful delivery but if you only hear the audio, her flawless voice seems like that of a small girl! It is fresh and has a little element of playfulness. Last, but not the least, we have Sharad Proteeti. She throws that husky voice with super perfection. While singing "Bhalobeshe Shokhi", Proteeti sounded at times like Kanika Bandyopadhyay.
Nashroh Naziat had sung: "Keho janibe na mor gobheer pronoy, keho dekhibe na mor osrubarichoi." And Adrina Jamilee followed: "Kemone Prokashi Kobo, Koto Bhalobashi". Sharad Proteeti-ke khoob miss korechhi ei gaane.

রবীন্দ্রসংগীত নিয়ে আমাদের দেশে এমন অনন্য আয়োজন খুবই কম হয়। এই ৭.২৯ মিনিট আসলেই অনেক মুগ্ধ হয়ে শুনছিলাম! সত্যিই অসাধারণ আয়োজন....
অনেকদিন পর আজকে আবার শুনলাম। দারুণ শান্তি লাগে রবীন্দ্র সংগীত শুনলেই আর আপনাদের উপস্থাপনা এবং গায়কী তো এককথায় অসাধারণ। পুরাণো সেই দিনের কথা - শুনে গায়ে কাঁটা দিল, মনে পরে যায় সেইসব দিনগুলি।
When I listen to any Rabindra sangeet, I cry. This song is really close to my heart.It’s amazing to see how Rabindranath 's spirit never died, it’s always with us,in our heart. ❤
অনেক আশা নিয়ে অপেক্ষা করে থাকি...প্রাণসুধা পান করার অপেক্ষা...অমৃতের নেশা ধরে যাওয়াটা বোধহয় দোষের কিছু নয়...!
এটা সত্য যে রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুর পাশ্চাত্য অনেক গানের সুরের দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হয়ে সুর নকল করেছেন। কিন্তু তিনি আবার নিজেই নিজের সুর সাধনার মাধ্যমে সবাইকে প্রভাবিত করেছেন। তিনি প্রভাবিত হয়েছেনও আবার প্রভাবিতও করেছেন। অসাধারণ।
নকল করেছেন বলাটা কতটা ঠিক তা নিয়ে সন্দেহ আছে, কারণ পাশ্চাত্যে একজনের সুর নিয়ে কারুকার্য করাও উচ্চমানের শিল্পসৃষ্টির মধ্যে ধরা হয়। আর এই গানটি তার অন্যতম সুন্দর একটি উদাহরণ।

নকল কিসের? নকল হয় যখন কাউকে না জানিয়ে লুকিয়ে কোনো গানকে নিজের বলে চালিয়ে দেওয়া হয়।
রবীন্দ্রনাথ টরুন বয়সে ইংল্যান্ডে থাকাকালে এইসব প্রচলিত আইরিশ,স্কটিশ লোকগানের অনুবাদ করেছিলেন। লক্ষ্য করলে দেখবেন গানের অর্থগুলোও একই। তিনি কখনো বলেননি এই সুর আমার তৈরি। তিনি অনুবাদ হিসেবেই লিখেছেন।
অপূর্ব! অসাধারন! এই ইংলিশ-বাংলা কম্বিনেশনগুলি আরো আছে ইউটিউবে, কিন্তু আপনারা অন্য মাত্রায় নিয়ে গিয়েছেন। অনেক পরে পরে এক একটা ভিডিও আসে, কিন্তু অপেক্ষা সার্থক। ভিডিওর পরিচালক আর সিনেমাটোগ্রাফারকেও ধন্যবাদ।
রবীন্দ্রনাথ ঠাকুরের গানে বাংলা ও ইংরেজি ভাষার দুর্দান্ত সমন্বয়। সত্যিই গান ক'টি মন ছুঁয়ে গেল।

The Cinematography is out of the world and the Composition, I am speechless.
মন্ত্রমুগ্ধ হয়ে শুনছি এবং দেখছি। অসাধারণ গায়কী ও ভিডিওগ্রাফি। এরকম আরো আরো চাই । আপনারাই নতুন প্রজন্মের কাছে রবীন্দ্র সংগীত জনপ্রিয় করে তুলবেন, এই প্রত্যাশা রাখছি। অনেক অনেক ধন্যবাদ।
ফুলে ফুলে এবং The Banks O' Doon এর একাধিক mixed composition শুনেছই। স্বভাবতই তুলোনামুলোক বিচার চলে আসে। সেই বিচারেই এই ভিডিও like deserve করে।
নুতন প্রজন্ম রবীন্দ্র সংগীতকে এক অন্য মাত্রায় নিয়ে গেছে যার মধ্যে আবেগ ও আকর্ষন যথাযত ভাবে সংরক্ষন করা হয়েছে। একজন প্রবীন রবীন্দ্র সংগীতের ভক্ত হিসাবে আমি তাদেরকে অনেক অনেক সাধুবাদ জানাই। নান্দনিক গ্রাফিক ভিডিও এর সংমিশ্রন প্রশংসার দাবী রাখে।

It is a prayer song. I sincerely believe Bengali Hindus need not do any puja, no temple visits, not to read any religious books, just sing Tagore songs. He combined all prayers in his song.

কোনো অংশকে আলাদা করে কৃতিত্ব দিয়ে এই ৭:২৯ মিনিটের ভিডিওটির বর্ণনা করা অন্যায় হয়ে যায়। শুধু ভোকাল কিংবা ভিডিওগ্রাফি নয় কম্পিজিশন,স্ক্রিনপ্লে,কনসেপ্ট প্রত্যেকটা পার্টই অসাধারণ। অপূর্ণতা বলতে একটা কভার এর পর আরেকটা আসতে সময় একটু বেশি লাগে এই যা।

composition, mixing এসব তো বরাবরের ভালো cinematography টা মন ছুঁয়ে গেল।

The amount of nostalgia the song 'fule fule' holds. I think it's the 1st lyrics most of us learnt and also added steps to it. May 'fule fule' become the introduction to the music field for a few more and may they too take a trip to the childhood days through the melody. ❤
