    try any length of daily meditation that is best for you. for me 1 hour /day or 40 mins twice a day works incredibly well. I could not believe or imagine that meditation will do this much to me to fight my urges, depression and chronic anxiety and anxiousness. as a note, I used to be a stoner for 11 years and the last 2 of it i was doing party drugs regularly. nonetheless I am lucky and blessed to get rid of all this shit in my mid 30s without any retreat, without damaging my reputation, without any help from anyone or anything, like prescription drugs. Only CBT I discovered for myself and with help of meditation of course

    Did my first one in 2011, only regret I've always had is not continuing it every year. Only did 3 10-day retreats so far. Last one finished 1 week ago!

    Hello, Kaitlyn!
    I must commend you for sharing the content so accurately. You've addressed almost all the essential questions. In 2019, I embarked on a remarkable journey through Vipassana, an experience that truly illuminated my understanding of genuine happiness. However, I eventually discontinued the daily 2-hour meditation routine, and the internal struggle resurfaced.
    As per the guidance of Goenka Guru, maintaining a consistent practice of 2 hours daily-1 hour in the morning and 1 in the evening-is essential. Unfortunately, I neglected this practice. For the past few months, I've come to realize that the progress I made has stagnated, and the positive changes I experienced in 2019 have diminished.
    That's why I've made a firm decision to restart. I've begun with Anapana, dedicating 10 minutes every hour. It's my way of getting back on track. Your video serves as a tremendous reminder of those memories, and I'm truly grateful for that.
    Thank you so much for creating this video-it has brought back a flood of meaningful memories.
    Warm regards,
    Kridip Kakati

      Hi! Keep up the discipline everyday. A kind friend once shared a quote with me that’s helped me stay on track. “Either experience the pain of discipline or the pain of regret”.

    Hi Kaitlin, Happen to run into your channel just now. In a few days, I’m heading north to Abhayagiri, CA, a Buddhist Thai Forest Tradition Monastery, not a retreat center. Going to stay and practice with the sangha ( monks & community). Never gone to a 10 day Vipassana Retreat, but do daily Breath Meditation at home. Thank you for the insight. Love and Peace to you from Southern California. ❤

    Sounds like your on a good path now! This retreat is called a boot camp of meditation it’s not always been beneficial for people. They are researching the negative effects that can happen at Brown University. Cheetah house. Many come back with difficulty. Sounds like your on a good path now! You might not need this retreat. I was sorta talked into my first retreat and looking back I don’t recommend it to people. Don’t discount your own hard work to get where you are now. That’s awesome!! Good luck!

      You post the same exact thing(cut and paste) on other videos about vipassana, but you fail to provide any proof about the negative effects. You go on to say that you don't recommend it to people, yet you have never been on it yourself, so my guess is that you are trolling...........Not sure why.

      @@HolisticKaitlyn after spending 15 years part time into various spiritual practices, i have yet to find anything as powerful efficient as Vipassana. This is a very serious matter. Go deep into Vipassana. Your video helps spread Vipassana. As you gain further insights into Vipassana, keep posting new videos. For eg . Soon you will learn that Vipassana is not about scanning body but about strengthing the observer function of brain by not reacting to sensation on the body. Scanning is just a way to come face to face with sensation so that we don't react to them thereby strengthening the first function of brain . The observer function. There are other subsequent function as well which all make up the chain of dependent origination. Observation of this entire chain for first time means you have entered the stream of liberation ie stottapana milestone.

    Hi.. When you sit to meditate, with in 5-10 minit your body sleep n you can realise your throat is dry.
    After this you focus on your breath thn you would realize that you are not breathing and breathing is going on automatically and breathing going on very sort . After this you can see who you are..
    If you focus on your thoughts after sleeping body, you have to just follow your thoughts plz don't try to switch thought, just follow your thought thn you will see entire thoughts to be powerless, inactive dead etc. And you can see thoughts are moving like fish in water very slow speed.
    If you meditate having open your eyes that is really magic.. You can see that someone is watching outside and you are watching that someone very closely even your eys's lance.
    After seen yourself can speak about that you are not, because now you knew that you can not able to speak about who you are.

      One more thing that what is identity of meditation , is that vivration/electric short, like discharge in sex, energy will run upside and then you are in other dimensions.

    • @HolisticKaitlyn
      @HolisticKaitlyn  Рік тому +2

      Hi! Thanks for the comment :)
      I definitely go in and out of consistency especially during travels. When I travel I aim for 10 mins a day with a guided vipassana I have linked in the description of this video. When I have a routine at home I aim for an hour. So it varies. I also posted a 3 minute guided vipassana for people who need something quicker. Hope this helps :)

    I’ve been on the fence about whether or not I’d ever do one of these retreats, but hearing you talk about your experience convinced me that I should! I’m curious tho, is Vipassana basically just mindfulness meditation? Cause I have a mindful meditation practice I do everyday where I focus on my breath and other physical sensations. Anytime my mind wanders I just observe my thoughts in a nonjudgmental way, and then return my attention back to the breath/the physical, which sounds pretty similar to what you described. Either way thanks for making this video!

    • @HolisticKaitlyn
      @HolisticKaitlyn  Рік тому +1

      Its changed my life for the better, if you have any questions feel free to contact me. Yes, it is a mindfulness meditation and sounds very similar to the meditation you are already doing. Hey, I am feeling weak. My head is doing involuntary moment's while practicing vipassana meditation at home. I did it before 9 years ago. Now am trying to practice at home and facing such problems. I feel like I am really weak and depressive thoughts. Feels like disconnected from self. What would you suggest to me, whether I should go to new course or not. 😇😇😇😇😇

    • @HolisticKaitlyn
      @HolisticKaitlyn  Рік тому +2

      You are not weak, your human, give yourself some grace. It’s okay to feel disconnected from yourself, everyone goes through these phases. It’s just about being aware that you feel that way, no clinging no adversity.
      What do you want to do? Do you want to go to the course? It’s something you have to reflect upon internally only you know what’s best for you.

    • @Avangers101
