You've done 2 challenges without teammates. But what about a challenge where you have to rely on your teammates. Like you can't attack at all with or without the horse. Your teammates have to 100% of the damage.

I believe one of the issues with controllable party members was that horse skills don't work, or maybe it was just horse whispering, but i know there was a problem

Not exactly possible. I could manually do that for each level (maybe) but even then, only some would be possible to do it with
