- In this video we go on a mission to find as many locations as possible that are displaying fall colors. This is by far our favorite time of the year to camp and you'll see in this video why. We jump from one location to another and are amazed at the breathtaking scenary all around.

I love that you love the 395 experience. Maybe our paths will cross. I used to travel 395 a lot when I was n the Marine Corps, going home on leave. Being older now, I notice how l didn't appreciate the beauty of the area I traversed.

38 mph is perfect speed to smooth out that washboard road.
Good hunting/fishing up there in zone 12. Stay on that road bearing right. Go over the hump when you get to it til the road ends. That's your camp site!
How ever Mama Goose does the prep or the cooking is the right way. Keep up the good work Mama Goose!!!!!! Would be nice to see her run the kitchen and critique Mr JNKY😄!!!!

That's a great location (the first one). Me and three other dad's and our kids went up that very road for a backpack trip. We stayed by the river at a different spot with a big ol boulder next to it. We climbed up on top and had our dinner with a fire up on top.
The next day we hiked up from the end of the road to some of the lakes. Very buggy so not recommended in July. Either do it early in the season before the hatch or late, like August, Sep, Oct.
We fished in a couple of the lakes on the way back down.
Good to know there's snow already. I've been thinking of heading up there and you've given me a good idea of what the weather is doing.
BTW...loved the little montage at the end. "You and me...meant to be...in the great outdoors" with you and momma sitting next to each other and giggling. Perfect. Gotta get out there with my wifey and m'boy.

Gosh! I love your videos like this. I'm sorting my gear right now and getting ready to do 1-2 weeks on the '95 but coming "downhill" from the north. I'll have to watch the weather b/c my lifted Subie won't get me out like your Jeep can. Fishin' gear already packed. Going through the rest of it tonight-tomorrow. Thanks for the inspiration.

This really is the best time of the year to do 395. We did a trip last year at this time over Sonora Pass, down 395 to Lee Vining, then east around the south end of Mono Lake over to Benton, on to Tonopah and up 376 to the Humbolt Toiyabe mountains/Arc Dome wilderness. Came back over Tioga pass through Yosemite. So much cool stuff. 395 is the gateway.

I learned early on from my chef father-in-law, always heat or chill the plate/bowl depending on what you're eating! it's not the plate, got to heat them up. Hot food on a hot plate or don't bother!

The snow might be knocking the older leaves off now(more orange) it’s kinda of a normal start for fall this year, as opposed to warmer dryer weather we’ve been seeing the last few years. Sonora pass is closing today, hopefully temporary, we’re getting more this week.

Great videos. Been watching a ton. Do you guys provide a resource to find these trails?. My lady like more mild scenic trails, gotta slowly acclimate her to the steep and narrow switch backs. This trail is amazing. I know it’s all about seeking out cool spots. But man this segment is just what the doctor ordered. Thank you for awesome and inspiring videos. God bless on your next chapter!

Been seeing that there has been snow on the east side of the Sierras. I want to do one more trip this year if possible. Destination is 7100' east of 395. Hopefully next week. Last part of Indian Summer.

This is the second time I have seen this spot (the initial one where you stayed over night). How do I get there? I would be heading north up the 395. Is this past Bishop? Love your content, subscribed.
Your need a 4 wheel inflate/deflate kit does em all at the same time quick and really sweet to fill all 4 at same time as well
Ive had the 4 tire inflate and deflate system. I wasn't a fan....
The system I had took too long for all 4 tires to equalize after filling up…and I could never tell exactly when to stop filling up to obtain my ideal pressure in all 4 tires. Plus, I didn’t really notice any time savings, nor was it any easier.

Definitely you should check Lytle creek area, it's a easy and beautiful place...

Lytle Creek is a great recommendation. Lots of fire roads in that area that are mild and not too aggressive. Also Big Bear has some very nice trails as well.

Thanks Brendon. Not sure the exact name of the lights...but they were just some cheap ones I found on Amazon that is actually purposed for backlighting for shooting videos. But the fact that they can also be battery powered make them a great solution to camp lighting considering their size.

D, be careful not to smoke extra virgin oil can be not good for you. High heat on skottles needs a frying olive oil because it can hold up to the heat.
What is the tent/roof top on your jeep? Do you get "upstairs" from inside or have an outside ladder?
Its called an Ursa Minor. It replaces the stock hard top. We get inside of it from the inside of the Jeep.
Random question, where did you get that thermometer you showed for the inside and outside temps? Have looked for something good for awhile. Thanks

Was this recently done. I notice that there is snow on the ground. I didn't know that it was already snowing in the area. I am new to this overlanding thing and I see a lot of people using the scottle. Why do you use it over using a camp stove like a coleman
This was filmed just a few days before I published it. As far as the skottle goes, I enjoy the fact that it cleans really easily, is multi purpose...and is an innovative device that has a very cool history behind the original skottle!

I did Vincent. Obviously, it wasn’t needed for additional traction. But, on washboard/rocky dirt roads which we were on for about 15-20 miles, you’d be surprised at the improved comfort of 15psi tires, compared to 32psi tires. Not to mention the fact that it is much easier on the Jeep components. I’d encourage you to experiment with your own psi on a similarly described long dirt road. Happy Trails
