We're back with a new vlog from Corralejo. We've taken a few weeks away from UA-cam to enjoy the fantastic weather here and have a little escape from filming and editing. We hope you enjoy this video from our recent stay at Barcelo Corralejo Bay Hotel (Adults Only) 😀
I spent one wonderful week there in 2014. My first stay in Fuerteventura. A friend of mine used to live in Villaverde so I often returned, trying other accommodations in Corralejo and El Cotillo. It was a great Time. I enjoyed so much being at the Barcelo Bay. Yes, very good food, nice atmosphere. Thank you very much for this video. It's always a pleasure to hear from you.

Stayed here 4 times now. Best hotel we've stayed in ever. Staff are lovely fitness classes with Stefan are first class and fun too. Hoping to go back soon.
Thanks for the video ladies. Very interesting. We have been to this hotel for the past 5 years apart from last year. We have always found it comfortable with good food and friendly staff. We didn’t choose it initially because it’s adults only, but it definitely has its advantages. It’s in a great location for the beach, shops and water park and not far from the dunes. The hotel runs a free coach to the dunes every day which is helpful. It takes about half an hour to walk, but not recommended when it’s very hot. The dunes are definitely worth a visit. Think it’s got a good reputation as the hotel was also used a few years ago as the base for some actors when they were filming Dr Who in Fuerteventura. An exciting bonus for one of our stays. Anyway, sure you will enjoy it again if you visit for longer. Thanks again for your video and happy anniversary for next month.

Stayed at the Barcelo Thalassa spa in caleta de fuste in 2018 and had a lovely time. This particular one in correlejo has been on my radar ever since, having very good reviews on trip advisor. Mind now made up next time i visit Fuerteventura. Great video and Happy anniversary to you both.

Great video. We stayed in that hotel 2 years ago, had a standard room which seemed to be the same as your room, only no hot tub or cabana {but did have a balcony}. Loved it, food, location, and comfortable quiet room. Also free activities eg cocktail tasting, pilates, spanish lesson, even a walking tour of Corralejo. Would love to go again.
That was a lovely surprise to see you back & from the hotel we stay in . It was nice to see Harry & Leticia singing there. Hopefully our September holiday goes ahead but not too hopeful the way the numbers are rising again in the UK. We have stayed in the Sands hotel too & it's also very nice with more entertainment .

Thanks for another great blog, we stayed at the Barcelo Corrolejo Sands in 2018 and it was great, food there was also very nice. We had a plan to go to the Barcelo Castillo Beach resort but didn’t make it due to travel restrictions. Hopefully we will make it in the not too distant future. 👍

Lots of memories for us in this video, ladies, so many thanks. We stayed at the same hotel (I think it had a different name then) a few years ago. We were very impressed with it and it seems to have maintained its standards. Hopefully, we'll finally, after many unsuccessful attempts in the last 18 months or so, get to the Canaries (Lanzarote) again in October. We have booked but who knows what might happen between then and now? It must be great, by the way, to be able to check out of a hotel in Fuerteventura and not then have to check in at the airport, especially just now with all the hoops we have to jump through just to have a holiday.

Hi from Co. Wexford, :) I was wondering where you ladies were, and i actually came to this site to see had i missed some video's. I don't know what it is about Fuerteventura but I love it there, wish i could live there for my winter. But all is good with our weather here on the sunny south east of Ireland last week and this week is to be good also. So I can close my eyes and have the heat of the sun and pretend i am there LOL. I have stayed in Sara Elba a few times and twice in the Barclo near the main little strip, and stayed in what was then called Geranios Suites, Think it's called Eurostars or something like that now. that was a nice place also.

Since writing my comment below my husband has watched the vlog & as much as he enjoyed it he said it was like “rubbing salt in the wound” as we have had at least 3 stays cancelled during the past 16 months at The Bay fingers crossed for our September one as it will be our 50th Anniversary at the beginning of October. We've visited the Canaries about 25 times over the years mainly in winter, Fuerteventura being our favourite island and we have stayed at this hotel 3 times for 2 weeks each time, we chose it for it's location, we hire a car and we're off exploring. Yes this is a good adults only hotel, recently refurbished and looking good, what we found not to be good was the evening dinner, it was alright but below par when compared to other hotels on the islands, some nights we struggled to find anything special, if you like pork then you're onto a winner. I told the manager that their buffet food was not as good as other hotels and he just shrugged his shoulders and said no one else had complained, that was a lie as in the comments book in the restaurant there were many complaints. We only return as it's central, clean and we can park the car, o.k. the hotel is very good excluding the lack if imagination dinner. I was surprised to see in the video the buffet was serve yourselves which meant everyone touched the utensils, as far as I know I thought this self service had been dropped while we still have the pandemic, not all hotel guests are particular when at the buffet.
Hi Lee. Interesting perspective. Firstly, we thought the food was pretty good and certainly great value for money. Secondly, given that over 99.7% of the population here don’t have Covid, I think that helping yourself at a buffet is a pretty low risk activity and certainly one that I didn’t think twice about. Also there’s no guarantee than someone else serving you would present any less of a risk and takes the fun out of the whole buffet experience for me. I have no desire to spend my life wrapped up in cotton wool just incase something bad happens. Each to their own I guess, thanks for your thoughts 😁
@@sarahbolgerBolgy There's no guarantees in life but any help along the way should always be welcomed, less people touching the utensils the better, it's not just the possible spread of covid here that's the risk it's the germs or bacteria that are passed on from selfish people who don't care too much about hygiene because in their encapsulated world they are all that matters, we've all seen it. Like I said it's a great hotel but I'll stick to what I said about the food, I've spent 42 nights there in all not just one or two so I'm in a much better position to give judgment but as you say each to their own.
We always stay at the Bahia Real (now Secrets) and have walked past this hotel so many times on our way into and out of town! Thank you for the tour of the hotel and dining - looks like this could be a great option if we ever wanted to change things up. We really miss our Corralejo holidays so these videos keep us going until our next visit!

wow amazing! beautiful hotel. So wish we were there as we should have been flying next week for our yearly 3 weeks with my boys and hubby (this us still the holiday moved from last year... moved again and moved to 2022) Great about masks 😷👌 wish it wasn't such a grim situation here in UK cases going up but restrictions lifted urmmmm. Anyway. Can't wait to come back. Enjoy and keep the videos coming . Can't really complain just started my 6 week school holiday break and we are in our 4th day of 29 degree. Take care kirsty 🙂

I don't get this, honestly. I've been to some wonderful places, the highlights have been: Pesaro in Italy, Les Deux Alpes in France, Helsingör in Denmark, Norefjell in Norway, Pelekas on Corfu, Antiparos in the Ionean Sea, central Amsterdam, Koh Samui In Thailand, Cherating in Malaysia, Corralejo on Fuerteventura. And finally, I live on the West coast of Sweden. The thing is, it's never been about where I've stayed, it's been everything around it. To be honest, we've gone to the same mediocre hotel on Crete three times, once for every child. But that was from getting to be friends with the owners. The hotel is a trap, all inclusive is a trap. There are some really great restaurants in Corralejo, but you won't find them if you stay at the hotel. I know you two have been everywhere, and I'd love if you do a series on getting around the island on a budget.
Hello Eskil, You’ve hopefully watched some of their previous vlogs and appreciated how earthy and honestly informative they are. That’s how it seems to me anyhow. They deliberately let us viewers know from the off that they were up in Corralejo for a bit of a luxury break. They’ve also posted a vlog from Corralejo where they stayed at more affordable yet very pleasant self catering accommodation and took us all out to dinner at a restaurant with them. Horses for courses I suppose, but whilst the covid related difficulties remain, pertaining to travel from the UK, this pair of ladies have kept alive my enthusiasm for Fuerteventura very much alive and I’m grateful for them. You seem to be well traveled. Keep it up when conditions allow you. In the meantime, watch some of the back catalogue of ‘Amelia vids’ as we refer to them. Some fantastic insights into the Far East including a mad dash through city streets on the back of a flippin moped. I promise you’ll see the wider picture here. Cheers pal, Good luck!👍

You obviously didn't hear what the lovely ladies said. You have to wear them outside if you can't maintain 1.5 metres from other people. Very difficult in holiday areas and you can see most people wear them outside.

@@stephaniewilson9551 Terribly sorry Stephanie, I didn't mean to offend you but my friend who lives in Fuerteventura tells me that a lot of people, tourists in particular, think that they don't have to wear them at all outside anymore when it is actually law that you have to if you can't keep away. She also tells me there have been big street parties in Corralejo that are against the law and that the Police have to keep breaking up. I'll hopefully get over and see for myself if it gets off the amber list.

For example today I cancelled a hair appointment & I wore my mask when entering the salon!! Yes I saw the Police break up a party of 200 young people on the island partying! No masks!! Disgusting.

@@rennevanrenen6604 I went with friends and we spent time in Johannesburg, Sun City, Pilanesburg national park for a safari, Cape Town, and the surrounding area, wine region, cape of good hope etc, Durban and the Victoria Falls before flying back to Johannesburg and then the UK. @@sarahbolgerBolgy There's no guarantees in life but any help along the way should always be welcomed, less people touching the utensils the better, it's not just the possible spread of covid here that's the risk it's the germs or bacteria that are passed on from selfish people who don't care too much about hygiene because in their encapsulated world they are all that matters, we've all seen it. Like I said it's a great hotel but I'll stick to what I said about the food, I've spent 42 nights there in all not just one or two so I'm in a much better position to give judgment but as you say each to their own.

We always stay at the Bahia Real (now Secrets) and have walked past this hotel so many times on our way into and out of town! Thank you for the tour of the hotel and dining - looks like this could be a great option if we ever wanted to change things up. We really miss our Corralejo holidays so these videos keep us going until our next visit!

wow amazing! beautiful hotel. So wish we were there as we should have been flying next week for our yearly 3 weeks with my boys and hubby (this us still the holiday moved from last year... moved again and moved to 2022) Great about masks 😷👌 wish it wasn't such a grim situation here in UK cases going up but restrictions lifted urmmmm. Anyway. Can't wait to come back. Enjoy and keep the videos coming . Can't really complain just started my 6 week school holiday break and we are in our 4th day of 29 degree. Take care kirsty 🙂

I don't get this, honestly. I've been to some wonderful places, the highlights have been: Pesaro in Italy, Les Deux Alpes in France, Helsingör in Denmark, Norefjell in Norway, Pelekas on Corfu, Antiparos in the Ionean Sea, central Amsterdam, Koh Samui In Thailand, Cherating in Malaysia, Corralejo on Fuerteventura. And finally, I live on the West coast of Sweden. The thing is, it's never been about where I've stayed, it's been everything around it. To be honest, we've gone to the same mediocre hotel on Crete three times, once for every child. But that was from getting to be friends with the owners. The hotel is a trap, all inclusive is a trap. There are some really great restaurants in Corralejo, but you won't find them if you stay at the hotel. I know you two have been everywhere, and I'd love if you do a series on getting around the island on a budget.

You’ve hopefully watched some of their previous vlogs and appreciated how earthy and honestly informative they are. That’s how it seems to me anyhow. They deliberately let us viewers know from the off that they were up in Corralejo for a bit of a luxury break. They’ve also posted a vlog from Corralejo where they stayed at more affordable yet very pleasant self catering accommodation and took us all out to dinner at a restaurant with them. Horses for courses I suppose, but whilst the covid related difficulties remain, pertaining to travel from the UK, this pair of ladies have kept alive my enthusiasm for Fuerteventura very much alive and I’m grateful for them. You seem to be well traveled. Keep it up when conditions allow you. In the meantime, watch some of the back catalogue of ‘Amelia vids’ as we refer to them. Some fantastic insights into the Far East including a mad dash through city streets on the back of a flippin moped. I promise you’ll see the wider picture here.

You obviously didn't hear what the lovely ladies said. You have to wear them outside if you can't maintain 1.5 metres from other people. Very difficult in holiday areas and you can see most people wear them outside.

@@stephaniewilson9551 Terribly sorry Stephanie, I didn't mean to offend you but my friend who lives in Fuerteventura tells me that a lot of people, tourists in particular, think that they don't have to wear them at all outside anymore when it is actually law that you have to if you can't keep away. She also tells me there have been big street parties in Corralejo that are against the law and that the Police have to keep breaking up. I'll hopefully get over and see for myself if it gets off the amber list.

For example today I cancelled a hair appointment & I wore my mask when entering the salon!! Yes I saw the Police break up a party of 200 young people on the island partying! No masks!! Disgusting.

@@rennevanrenen6604 I went with friends and we spent time in Johannesburg, Sun City, Pilanesburg national park for a safari, Cape Town, and the surrounding area, wine region, cape of good hope etc, Durban and the Victoria Falls before flying back to Johannesburg and then the UK. Had an amazing time. We love to travel
