✨Free Crochet Pattern - Boho Crochet Coasters - forthefrills.com/easy-crochet-placemats-fringe-free-pattern Check out the free crochet coaster pattern! It has all the sizing info (coaster, place mat etc.), measurements, yarn amounts and alteration instructions ☺
Hi Ashley, I just used two skeins of yarn and pulled a strand from each. If you only have 1 skein of yarn you can pull the centre strand and the outside strand and use both at the same time. That way you don't have to worry about cutting the right length of yarn. I hope this helps, Grace :)
So happy I found this I'm excited to make these for my friends bridal shower this will be a great gift with a personal touch and they look perfect for her
We started doing this tutorial with my mom. My first try was not successful but my mom made 2 perfect coasters. We put them decoratively on coffee tables in our living room. Not only that they look great, they are also very useful. Protect wooden tables from heat when we put our hot cups!
Tip for anyone making fringe like in this video: don't take the crochet hook out/the yarn off of it - continue & pull the ends through the loop still on the hook to 'tie' on the fringe; much easier than using your fingers.
Yeah it was kinda weird that she has a crochet hook and decided to struggle with pulling the yarn with her fingers instead. I always use the hook to do my fringe.
Just attempted making, needed to practice since these will be a gift. I noticed on video you seemed to ease the beginning yarn tail into the round as crocheting but it wasn't mentioned. I feel this is not for extreme beginners but with some experience
Thank you, thank you for this tutorial! It was fairly simple (your instructions were super clear), but the end result was so gorgeous! I did an additional round because my yarn was thinner and my stitches were a bit tighter, but it came out great in the end!
I’m not even sure how to ask this question bc I’m so new at crocheting and the lingo. When you SC, are you going into just one loop of the stitch? It looks like you are going into the part that looks like a “v.?” That you so much!
hi. thankyou for video, i am a little confused bht i think doing it along w the video will help me very much. this will be my first crochet project so im hoping it turns out well.. do you think it will look nice if i use 2 different color strings? also i apologize if you answered this in the video, but how many coasters this size, do you think one spool of thread should make ? trying to determine how much i should order, thankyou !!
Hi Kyla, sure you can use 2 different coloured strands of yarn! The blog post (linked in the description) has all the yarn amounts for the coaster and size instructions. Grace :)
I don't understand what you do in the first place can you please explain to me what you do when you start? I mean do you use two yarns that I don't get
Hi 👋 I’m a beginner. I’d like to know how much yarn would I need to make a 12inch round? I’m trying to DIY 6 placemats. Just need to know how much yarn. Thank you!
Hi Rawan, If you check out the blog post there are instructions for 3 different sizes along with alteration instructions. I wouldn't recommend changing the hook size as it will make the coaster 'holey' and less dense. Grace :)

Thank you, thank you for this tutorial! It was fairly simple (your instructions were super clear), but the end result was so gorgeous! I did an additional round because my yarn was thinner and my stitches were a bit tighter, but it came out great in the end!

What a great and simple project!

Hi, all the yarn amounts are in the blog post - linked in the description :)
Can i use macrame for this????

I’m having that same problem. Need some advice.
Olá amiga boa noite Deus abençoe
How did you fringe no get curly and frizzy?
how much yarn does it take to make one table mat ?
Great work, this is lovely! about how long would you say it took to make 1 coaster?
Hi, I think it took me 20-30 minutes to make 1 coaster :)
Just crocheting the coaster takes less time about 30 - 35 mins, adding the fringe is the part that takes another 20 mins.
I don't understand what you do in the first place can you please explain to me what you do when you start? I mean do you use two yarns that I don't get
Hi, at the beginning you hold 2 strands of yarn together - this makes the coaster thicker and more sturdy :)
@@forthefrills got it thanks ❤️
Is it alright if we use 4.5 mm hook? Thanks :>
Can you just use a thicker yarn instead of two strands?
Hi 👋 I’m a beginner. I’d like to know how much yarn would I need to make a 12inch round? I’m trying to DIY 6 placemats. Just need to know how much yarn.
Thank you!

Hello how do you make this bigger?
Boy hacer esas bellezas❤️❤️
how if i want to make it bigger ? i change the hook size only ?
Hi Rawan,
If you check out the blog post there are instructions for 3 different sizes along with alteration instructions. I wouldn't recommend changing the hook size as it will make the coaster 'holey' and less dense.
Grace :)
I can't find the free pattern to download 😭

Hi Neha, all the materials are linked in the description :)
Tried the exact same thing didn't look anything like this in the end
