We rented my dad's fellow po house on the beach in the 70s.i think we only went to one restaurant with lobster.i was only 5 or 6? It was nice to visit and has always been my favorite vacation.all i have to do is turn my fan on and im there again 😁
Maine overall was a great living experience for me.I lived in Scarborough from 1996-2004. I had to move back to my native state of Pa for family reasons. The two biggest cons are the cost of most homes and low salaries. My wife and I did see a major improvement in our financial health after moving and we were able to afford a very nice suburban home because salaries were much higher and comparable to the area of Pa we moved to. The quality of life in Maine I found was much better and I would move back without a doubt if it wasn’t for the cost of living and low salaries that are not on par with the cost of living in Southern Maine especially the coastal towns and cities.
Looking to transfer to Portland, I work at Texas Instruments in Texas and there is a fab in Portland… I lived in Groton Connecticut and I LOVED the weather and people. Biddeford seems like the best place for me to look at. Any advice? How is the cost of living? I make about 120k a year. Will that be a livable wage there? I am also looking to rent not own.
Biddeford is an awesome City if you are looking for things to do, places to walk, great shopping and fantastic restaurants if you combine with Saco. Rents will be fairly high but, might be worth it. You shouldn't have any problem based on your salary.
I transferred from TI Dallas to MFAB a year and a half ago and moved to Biddeford. The commute is easy (I don't miss the traffic at all) and you should be able to find a nice house in Biddeford or Saco.
@@bobkatttt how do you like it there? I’m at RFAB and the environment is amazing but I want colder weather and to be able to live closer to work instead of commuting 1 hour everyday twice due to the cost of living in the surrounding area.

Texas Instruments? Do you sell fiddles ?
Best thing I ever did was move out of Maine and went to Florida. I am glad I left Maine before covid hit.
I have a home in FL, love visiting in the winter.
That's funny! I live in Florida and want to move to Maine!
