Statistically the absolute best way to ensure a child's success in life is for them to have both biological parents. I moved to Alaska with my family because my wife wanted to move back close to her family and she was going to take the kids with or without me. 3 years later, she has an affair and kicked me out of the house when I found out about the affair and confronted her. We had shared a vehicle (I was working- she wasn't) so I no longer had a vehicle to work, a place to live and no support network. I managed to hang on for about 6 months before I eventually had to move back to Seattle after I was offered a high paying job. Tried to save money but I got hit with a massive back child support order in addition to what I was already paying. It financially broke me (which is pretty much the goal of this niche of the government- create a debt slave and ensure their parasitic bureaucratic department continues to exist so that they can have a cushy job with benefits and a 401K at your expense) and it spiraled downward from there. So I guess that makes me a "deadbeat." This isn't a unique experience either. There are fathers who WALK OUT on their families and then there are fathers who are FORCED out.

We had shared a vehicle (I was working- she wasn't) so I no longer had a vehicle to work, a place to live and no support network. I managed to hang on for about 6 months before I eventually had to move back to Seattle after I was offered a high paying job. Tried to save money but I got hit with a massive back child support order in addition to what I was already paying. It financially broke me (which is pretty much the goal of this niche of the government- create a debt slave and ensure their parasitic bureaucratic department continues to exist so that they can have a cushy job with benefits and a 401K at your expense) and it spiraled downward from there. So I guess that makes me a "deadbeat." This isn't a unique experience either. There are fathers who WALK OUT on their families and then there are fathers who are FORCED out.
Funny, most stories I hear working in family law are about the fathers abandoning their family. You're the exception.
