It's truly a gift to be able to say so much with so little. In terms of notes. Houser had a way of getting the point across so beautifully and the space left for the rest of the band was not only there it was so inviting and welcoming. But he did not leave himself out. 3 notes from Mikey may convey an entire chapter of emotion
Literally the best years of panic shows, I've been to. Did 2002 tou up to Red rocks, sold my tix for cedar rapids and little did I know I'd never see Mikey again! Sureal feeling that kept me away for a few years after gmac and picked back up with Jimmy. Best band in the fukn land! Thank you Mikey, missed and loved!
Brian I feel the need to comment because only 5 people liked your comment….WSP is one of the best bands ever with the best shows ever and if you were a part of it then you know. I know. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Let's Make it 8... And yes ....pluck any newbie with half a brain and a musical ear. Ohhh and a conscious......that's never heard WP . Take em to a show.....Milwaukee Friday night for example......and they're never the same again . Send the postcard and get in the car....
I got the full version of the best rock and roll outfit on earth during this period. It was a shock to the soul November's of 01-April 02....I'm blessed to have the last show in the Houser Era 4/19-4/20-4/21
@timborel1111 think it was under pretty bad circumstances too. Simply said he died from unforeseen complications from a medical condition. General theory is alcohol or drugs or both. Other band members had hinted that he had been struggling for several years.
I'm 29 years old. My oldest brother is 45 and my youngest brother is 40. They got me into Panic when I was about 12 years old. I have both of their DVD copies of this Live At Oak Mountain. Always a good choice for late night jams!
Loving this....I think about the summer of 92 and 93, often. I remember when this airplane was coming around Alabama and Georgia. I hope it comes back.
A truly wonderful person has recently reconnected me to this music. This life is funny, we get one and all that ends up left over is energy moving outward. Thanks to this band for putting theirs out into the universe and into my soul!
@@joshuathompson1179 I probably told him I was just trying to find my friends. The last time I saw them they were heading into the bushes. Now I can't find them 🤣🤣🤣
3 killer killer shows was there on the last night was way up in the seating leftover salmon and there whole crew came up literally directly in front of us and did some photos was a ton of them great days I saw them over 60 times had to stop because couldn't afford tickets life changed then I heard Mikey died these guys were tight i was hooked from first shoe Iowa city Iowa they played a killer set I had never heard them hairy Gary from omaha turned me on to them changed my life's trajectory he turned me on to moe too.
I got to see them twice so far!!! Both times I was Blown Away!!! EXCELLENT BAND!!! I put them up Top with BANDS like RUSH!!!. FLAWLESS PERFORMANCES!!!!.
That JoJo is most certainly the maestro of the boys. The buildup between Airplane and Pusher is without a doubt my all time favorite. Mikey played, but goddammit, JoJo's keys were so in the right time and, oh man, so much laid the groove to Mikey's power chord to pusher...it was sheer climax, musically speaking.
That was a special time and place right in here, 1998-2000. Oak Mountain Amphitheater, Pelham AL. Great times and all the great, great, amazing shows, and Widespread Panic was a huge part of that. The band called Oak Mountain their "home stadium," until they were banned from performing there again after some damage to the Holiday Inn and a couple of suicides. WSP took the blame which was short-sighted and unfair.

Gilmore does it in one note
The lingering lead…
Gilmour not Gilmore
@@jimmyherring7163 Gilmour not Gilmore
Funny the critic can’t spell Gilmour. Michael played a guitar style that has not and never will be copied
You never appreciate what’s happening now because you don’t realize there’s an end to everything. Savor every moment in the present
Well said.

The MF inside WSP in not necessary. WSP says enough.

It’s hard to describe it to people! WSP you just feel it and know it’s right!

Jo jo is better than Paige. Arguments welcome.
Magner is better than both
B4L
Sorry if you don't
Meh, they do two different things. Page is better at coming up with a stand-alone melody. Jojo is a better tickler and hammering the ivory.
