I love the 108 model. I had one for about 12 years and have regretted selling it ever since it left! A real work horse for sure!
I refer to those early wide frames as the Stripe Tractor's.
    Yellow - 8 hp
    Green - 10 hp
    Red - 12 hp
    Blue - 14 hp & 16 hp 169 1yr

I never gave any thought to the HP to the stripe color. Thats good information. My 108 started my collection, so its pretty special to me. I almost sold it years ago, Im glad I did not now.

I cut a 4 1/2 inch hole. They are Trucklite grommets with 4411 bulbs.

Awesome! Thanks for the video, that'll be very helpful when I go to set the lights up. I'm just waiting for the paint on the old 104 to dry and get er wired up. I'm excited to see what its gonna look like with new paint/tires and working lights for once.

I would check both fuses first. Then start following wires to the headlights and pto. There may be a wire or both wires rubbed thru that are arcing togher.

Would anyone be able to help me out here? I have a 1997 Cub Cadet HDS 2165 with the headlight wire cut, there are currently no headlights in it. But everything that the lights need is already there. Basically, the wiring for the lights is ready to go but I'd have to add another foot of wire since it's cut down, and it's just missing the connectors and lights, so do I buy some wire, solder it, and add connectors? My plan is to buy a new headlight assembly because mine needs replaced anyway. I'd just like to see the old girl with lights again :)

I would just use wire connectors and crimp on some new wire the length you need. You could find a used headlight assembly on line for less money.

@@steiger256 Yeah I know... Those daggone assemblies cost $100+ new, but the original needs replaced. The reflective tape is gone, the lens is missing, and the bulbs don't exist. But thanks for helping me out! I just wanted to make sure whatever wiring I was going to do would work well.
