Feels privileged to have the fan base he has.... I appreciate the modesty. I'm still waiting for the day that the Deftones get the recognition they deserve. The GORE album is a masterpiece. I can't quit listening to it. Once the beat hit me, which, for whatever reason, with all of their albums, takes forever. I can't quit listening to THAT album. I've done this for the last... 15 years? Yikes lol. I can't help it. To me, nothing compares to this band. They are alone on this creative deftone journey. I used to think Tool was the only band to relate them to but they are also on that single wave length that nobody else comes close to. I'm just very grateful they are still making music. Without it... I'm not so sure how I would have matured. It was just yesterday that Doomed User gave me this insight into my current mindset that hopefully can push me into the phase of my life. Where maybe, I can make something more of myself. And that, my friends, is music. Sounds that create sparks in people. Words that set them ablaze.
I just posted elsewhere on how paradox Deftones music is within itself, and that i cant think of any other band with such strange/haunting/gorgeous/groove/simplicity-complexity tug of war within their songs. I love it. But some of their albums def took time for me to get into because i don't understand it initially. I love =around the fur/white pony/diamond eyes/noi yokan (truly classics) But ohms/gore/Sat. night wrist- all took time for me to digest. Adrenaline album is crazy if you consider that they're like 18-20 years old or something making songs like "bored" which is so ahead of its time. "Deftones" self titled album i STILL dont understand especially coming of the heels of white pony album which was their big mtv/radio moment. The singles are classic- hexogram and Minerva, but many of the other songs seem like they are unfinished in one way or another. Like some of the recordings sound like recordings from early 80s quality amd some songs feel incomplete. Long live Deftones!!
+NGT OI Seriously I Have High Hopes For Tool Soon I Know They Are Making 2 Videos For Songs But The Album Still Might Have A Bit But Atleast They Are Giving Us 2 New Tracks With Videos
+chrono050 The thing is that the 2 new videos Adam is working on are both for old songs (Opiate and The Pot) so they might actually end up delaying the new album if anything.
I have the absolute respect for these guys, they make fantastic music, beautiful melodies, and I will continue to listen to them, and everyone needs to chill about Chino's weight, we get it lol.
Chinoooo I freakin love you! I can't believe how long Deftones has been going strong and staying new... it's been amazing to grow and develop and watch/hear them grow and develop!
Love you chino, love you more than anything, hope you are happy in life and with the new album. and thank you for recognizing the fans, some people nevr do
The first show I ever went to was to see Deftones at a small club called the stone pony in NJ way back in 98, I was 17 and holy crap, chinos voice in person is unbelievable ... freaking limp bizkit opened for them and I thought wow this band sucks so bad, they were giving the crowd the middle finger, terrible attitude .... deftones came out and chino was so appreciative and gracious that everyone was there to see them .... amazing show, been a fan since adrenaline, and Chino, if you ever read this THANK YOU for your music and creativity ... you guys have meant a lot to me for a long time ✊
I'd rather bands take time to release interesting and worthwhile music. Bands like Five Finger Death Punch have release 7 studio albums since 2007 and even their biggest fans must surely concede that there isn't that much to differentiate them (at least from the ones I've heard, I can't tell most of the songs apart but they're mostly about "the demons inside of me"). Each Deftones album as a unique flavour and feel to it and often slightly different production. So most fans are eagerly anticipating Gore but speaking for myself I'm happy to wait for something I'm very confident is going to be great.
Five finger death punch is a band? I think there should be another name for acts like that. How about acts? They are a bad act at best. Poison to my ears.
They differently pulled through, it's a classic Deftones album and I love it and I see their new song doomed user pulling great hights and for good reason too.
It's really sad how much people care about how Chino looks. Yeah, it may be an actual concern for his health, but since when has music been a fucking beauty pageant. If your hyped for the new album, the get hyped. If Chino's weight is what concerns you, go start a health blog and leave us the fuck alone.
although he says recording an album is taxing, he put out last deftones album, Crosses Debut Album And Palms Debut Album all within a few years, so although he says he doesn't have to worry or do it for 3 more years, i feel we'll get new stuff from any of the projects way before that.
Glad to see a lot of positive comments. Among a lot of deftones fans I know, Gore is considered their worst record. I LOVE IT. I guess one of your records will be the “worst” by default because you guys put out some banging S***.
+Wolfman Reform CRAWLIIING IIIIN MYYYY SKIIIN nah both bands share part of the same fanbase. Mike Shinoda and Chino collabed on a song together a few years back despite the beef they had in 2003.
What i love about deftones is that everyone thought they were a korn or a limp bizkit band from the 90's but infact they ascended to a new level of music writing while the other kept listening to the shit labels they signed with. Deftones to me is just as good as TOOL in their song writing.
when somebody says they are excited that they don't have to make a record again for three years says alot. if its not natural and its forced, it will be garbage.. if its effortless like around the fur was it will be one for the books.
You are right, at least partially. I agree that something more spontaneous is better than long planning, forcing ideas, technical boloney etc. But making record it is not only about expressing own ideas and transfer it into music. it is also about hard work in the studio when you need to finish the record, mix it, close it. There are a lot of things to do. Many tedious work to do. You have to cooperate with other bandmates and everyone has own ways and concepts. It can be very frustrating to join it and blend it. When you start new project (especially when you are young) everything looks fresh and exciting. After many years of doing something your attitude may change. It is more about solid work, discipline etc. Blood, sweat and tears... Lucky, deftones are still manage to create great music!
+Sophie O'Donnell I'm guessing you're from Europe? It comes out April 8 so in like a little over a week or so. We put the month first on the date here in America.
Maybe it will be one of those albums that grows on you or one day is like "boom!" I get it now. I've had records that I really didn't dig then out of no where I listened to it with a different ear and something clicked... Not always the case however.
I completely agree... However... Not their sound at all. It's shit. I listened to white pony when it dropped. Hated it but for one song. Then one day the album hit rotation and I sat through it. One of my favorites now... This pussy echo scream whine has got to go.
+dallasb841 See now I really think it shouldn't because I love Gore, have on repeat often. I don't think it's that vastly different from their previous albums. People do this a lot with bands and it actually pisses me off because the people that complain about their sound changing are often the same people who complain when it doesn't change it all.
Whatever it is that makes a person completely ignore what a person is saying and fixate on their looks instead... I'm glad I don't have that tendency, because it's fucking annoying.
Springfeeeel I am a health professional. Rapid weight gain leads to multiple problems such as CAD. I don't want that to happen to my favorite band. So chill out.
someone is a little too serious about his art. I think the 'tones may have jumped the shark. Also not in love with what I'm hearing coming down the pike. This may be the first album I don't buy.
You could take 3 yrs. Nobodies forgetting about these legends.
+Drummers Eve dang right I still listen to Minerva, mein, change etc

Your positivity makes the deftones community even better, cheers

Always stoked for new Deftones albums. Still waiting on Tool...
+NGT OI Seriously I Have High Hopes For Tool Soon I Know They Are Making 2 Videos For Songs But The Album Still Might Have A Bit But Atleast They Are Giving Us 2 New Tracks With Videos
+chrono050 Nice. I hadn't heard that yet and I usually scour the internet for any tool news. I just hope the album releases this year.
+chrono050 The thing is that the 2 new videos Adam is working on are both for old songs (Opiate and The Pot) so they might actually end up delaying the new album if anything.
+NGT OI Tool's next album - 100,000 Days
+NGT OI Dude, I'm completely on the same page as you on this~
The song doomed user is awesome
Yas bitchhh
Dude, I'll be in a retirement home one day still enjoying this music. Take as long as you want. Hope to see you one day on the stage.
+Ifitallfails hahaha same dude same
I have the absolute respect for these guys, they make fantastic music, beautiful melodies, and I will continue to listen to them, and everyone needs to chill about Chino's weight, we get it lol.
it's seems like they hide in plan site being so legendary but not mainstream.
this is such a good way to explain deftones fame
They were pretty “mainstream” from White Pony all the way through Diamond Eyes.
No one will ever forget you guys, Chino. Fucking alternative gods from sactown.
GODS
deftones: One of the greatest bands of all fucking time.
Chinoooo I freakin love you! I can't believe how long Deftones has been going strong and staying new... it's been amazing to grow and develop and watch/hear them grow and develop!
Yes, I was born ready for this new album.
Just keep doing you, Chino, you got this!
Gore is a breathtaking masterpiece I just ordered a copy
Love you chino, love you more than anything, hope you are happy in life and with the new album. and thank you for recognizing the fans, some people nevr do

Here, here...👍
i finally got to see these guys live last summer after so many years of wishing it happend :D
It sounds super freaking stressful but these guys are amazingly talented so no worries it'll always be awesomeness. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Pittura Infamante is too amazing for words
I'll never forget Deftones.
❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
My favorite album from them hands down.
best song of the album, prayers/triangles
You couldve stopped making music after my own summer and you still wouldve been at the top of my list youll never be forgotten

My body is ready.
Craig Diehl but my mind isn’t
Dont reproduce
People put toooo much pressure on legendary artists- it’s not fair… they fill it 1 million fold. Fuck the internet
Gore is a masterpiece. Took me maybe 3 listens to get thru the flat production but there a LOT of solid choruses on it.
Gore has some fucking bangers on it. I love the way their sound has evolved. What a massive journey from adrenaline to Ohms.
I'm excited for it

Hell, it took Tool 10,000 days (😁) to make an album....love Deftones.🤘
gore will always be my fav album
To me Koi No Yokan is still their new album.

I love you Chino
chino is the king of losing weight and puting it right back on
Nobody cares

No dislikes. Has to be a record! A month later? Thank you people!
Wait until linkin park fans run in to this video?!
+Wolfman Reform what? I enjoy both Linkin Park and Deftones
+Zander Oakman did I ask?
+Wolfman Reform you said that Linkin Park fans would dislike the video

I believe it's like running a marathon or something like that, after you're done, you just don't want to run it again right away 😵

I can't wait for 8th August.
+Sophie O'Donnell I'm guessing you're from Europe? It comes out April 8 so in like a little over a week or so. We put the month first on the date here in America.
Bryan H. Oh whoops. I meant April but for some reason typed August. I live in Australia, so it's the 8th April for me too :)
effn GREAT!
I love this man and this band. no homo. Ok maybe a little.
oh jyezz
no preassure! after this one and the tour, take a year or two... then come back with Chi: Lovers! Love Life and the D! April Hate, can't wait!
So far I haven't heard anything I liked from Gore. Hopefully the rest of the album impresses me.
Maybe it will be one of those albums that grows on you or one day is like "boom!" I get it now.
I've had records that I really didn't dig then out of no where I listened to it with a different ear and something clicked...
Not always the case however.
Who gives a fuck if it impresses you or not get off your ass and make a song that you like...
jersey Mcgee I have plenty of songs that I like.
I completely agree... However... Not their sound at all. It's shit. I listened to white pony when it dropped. Hated it but for one song. Then one day the album hit rotation and I sat through it. One of my favorites now... This pussy echo scream whine has got to go.

still waiting on the next Team Sleep geeez it's been 12 years already...oh well a dude can dream yeah?
Not one dislike. Awesome! :D
Well now that you mentioned it..
It's gonna be Saturday Night Wrist Pt.2
Darn chino gotta watch the weight again man.
+Jassie Fresh All he's gotta do is get on stage and he sheds it all like its an old shell.
He looks fine, he's looking healthy.
He's still performing top notch so it doesn't really matter

Gore is their best record since white pony !
+gabriel enriquez Hell no.
Hell fucking no
+gabriel enriquez hell yeah
gabriel enriquez Gore is amazing
dallasb841 what other album since white pony has been amazing? I have to agree with OP
This man simply can't speak words for the life of him
someone is a little too serious about his art. I think the 'tones may have jumped the shark. Also not in love with what I'm hearing coming down the pike. This may be the first album I don't buy.
Awesome you wont be missed.
Enjoy the schlock without me
You would prefer artists not care about their art? It sounds like you just don’t appreciate art.
@@TheAlibabatree Chino-led deftones is crap. If a 4-year-old makes a fingerpaint, I feel free to thoroughly dislike it.
@@JasonSallinger But that has nothing to do with “taking art too seriously”.
Their worst record.
