  • Click to Subscribe! ► bit.ly/JOovvU - My friend Austin brought his impressive Goblin 700 Competition 3D RC Helicopter out to the ranch today. During his visit, he discuses the aircrafts features, including the electronics and setup. The camera does the size of this machine no justice, and in person its simply - a jaw dropper. Austin is able to get the bird in the sky twice, so I took the highlights of each flight and combined them into one for you to enjoy. These style of videos are a rare treat on RC ADVENTURES, so I want to congratulate and thank Austin for demonstrating some of his 3D heli skills for all of us to see! It takes nerves of steel to pilot one of these powerful and fast machines - to be able to take off, show, and land without incident is a feat all in itself.
Awesome job Austin, the RC ADVENTURiSTS Salute YOU!

Larger models are always easier to control, they`re more docile and gentle in their movements.
And as mentioned in the vidjeio, get some SIM TIME, planes and heli`s, always get your basics in a sim or with a training cable and an experienced pilot.
Heli`s are dangerous AF if you loose it..

Glad you put some helis on the channel. The SAB Goblins are amazing machines. I picked up a Goblin 570 on Ebay not long ago. Still need to do a video on it. My stress levels rise greatly when flying my bigger helis. What a rush! Great vid!

The reason larger heli are easier to control and more stable has alot to do with the weight vs. outside effects like wind.

+Alex McGuire no they are not. it's 1195 for kit. he's running torque servos which normally push 150$ a piece plus 200ish for trials servo. FBL costs around 200$ normally. motor is around 200-350$. you don't know your shit

    • @thatonebeone
      @thatonebeone 8 років тому

kit 1100, motors are 300$+, esc 400$+, canopy like 120 to 300 if custom painted, radio 700+$.. list goes on.. so by time everything is like 6+k.. got one coming

thatonebeone bruh, you exaggerated quite a bit. Nick maxwells Diablo fully done was 2500. That's a competion spec helicopter with the little discounts he gets from his sponsors. That's. 3500 for a consumer. No one spends 6k on a heli

Rc crawlers are fun but nothing got my heart pounding like flying a large helicopter. And nothing was more painful than a full power crash which typically cost about half the price of the helicopter to fix. When they crash, they crash is spectacular fashion. And I know what you mean about the sound, the large 700 size helicopters have loud blade chop, you can feel it in your chest.

+RCSparks Studio Mr Medic thank you for sharing - this video introduced me to a new RC platform that I forgot I appreciated (A friend had a helic a bunch of years ago which I loved and desired). Since watching this I've started down the long and expensive path of RC Heli flying and my Goblin 500 sport arrived today - will be a long time before I'm at the point of being able to fly that critter but I can at least look at it (and lick it) in the mean time. LOVE you vids bro please keep them coming my friend :)

Blade micros are easy to learn on... harder to learn then big stable copters, but price point is much better when you do break and crash, which you will!!
450 for a beginner, too much cost of repair and very discouraging for people thinking it is easy to fly and keep in the air..
I learned to fly on a a blade MCP, besides blades I never ruined the thing with many full pitch crashes or landings. Batteries and all are cheap and easy to find.
I see learning on a small affordable heli better for when you get into the expenaive scale, youll feel much more at ease with big stable rotors.
At the time I learned a pc and simulator were over the cost of a new MCP. I learned how to fly inverted and do flips and rolls on an MCP and moved up in scale short after.
This scale is flipping mad! I love watching tareq alsaadi whip this thing through the sky :)

I fly 400 so I agree, the mini's are too twitchy. I feel the same way with planes too,the bigger planes are less responsive but you can see them better and dont have to worry about wind. smaller Planes are greatly affected by any kind of breeze. Granted I am not there yet flying my 400 size heli but I like it better than the smaller ones, much better. The larger ones do cost way more, and repairs are more in an incident. Thats what the simulator is for. I also use the Phoenix but on a larger computer with a better graphics card. I prefer a gaming computer and a large screen. Lap tops are not good for using a simulator on,no way. The experience can be broken, jerky and not realistic. Use your regular Transmitter on it too, stay away from the others that have the transmitter that only works on the simulator, flying is about muscle memory in your fingers. Using a different tx is not going to help much

When you see the size of the battery then see it flying, and watch how quick it changes direction, the amount of stress on the components really boggles my mind. They must be so well built just to hold together.

I quit flying helis about the time the lipo helis were coming in. I flew Miniature Aircraft 90 size birds and they were just as complex and expensive as they are today. I'm SOOOOOOOO glad now I fly quads. building, tuning, repairing these suck so much balls and benjamins out of your wallet. The blades are in excess of 100 bucks a set, or at least they were.

Greta helicopter and nice flying, I am amazed how much it sound better then smaller Goblin 570 (which sound hysterically, and this one sound like helicopter should sound).
Owner is right, it is much easier to fly bigger helicopter, then smaller, even bigger ones tend to have bigger lag on command input.

I get a medical card and I’m stoned right now and my eyes are like shot about how big that helicopter is I’m going to have to get a kit one day cause I have about $2000 in RC right now roughly around 2000 I calculated but don’t know how much the rest is In price I have an RC just nine or 10 vehicles including a boat attracts a spartan that cost $400 And thought about get a plane to a small plane like a wooden one who thinks it would be easier to fly a wooden plane if it breaks you can repair it easier or Can I fix a plastic plane easier which one is easier to fix

That performance is UNBELIEVABLE. I predict within 1-2 decades we will have electric full sized aircraft with real usable utility. That thing has far more performance than the gas choppers did when they were early on. And you wouldn't be doing tricks like that on one of those with NO stability augmentation, I'll bet. ;-) Look at the new Tesla electric sports car. Talk about unbelievable performance, 1.9 seconds to 60, 240 MPH, and starting to get some usable range, as well.

Sponsor him some blades and have him fly it into a ballistics gelatin head. lol
seriously though, that was friggin awesome. No 1:1 copter could do anything even close.
the SIZE of that thing.. dig it.. slower axis rotation makes flying HUGE copters easier.
Fully correct, and also, the price of failure is exponentially increased. Training sims ftw.

5:16 Allow me to help you!! Imagine the metallic high-pitched, warcry of a thousand robotic warriors charging into battle. Each screaming to the top of their vocal components as they plunge head-first into the carnage. Then, imagine the groan of the atmosphere as it is sucked into two sets of razor sharp blades spinning at breakneck speeds to carry the mighty beast of the sky upwards from the ground to which it was once tethered. There, hows that?

Someone please help. I'm getting my very first scaler and im stuck. The two I want are the axial scx 10 honcho or the power wagon. Both scx10. The power wagon has a waterproof esc but the honcho has drag brake. And I am gonna be doing some rock crawling. Not in a competition or anything. Please help thanks

Are expecting to cross deep water or mudding? If not the Hondo will be fine. Even then you can always waterproof or buy waterproof your receiver servo. You can program in a drag brake on you radio.

The AE-5 that comes with the Power wagon has drag brake as well. In my opinion it is a good esc. The AE-2 is old tech and I've smoked 2. I just checked towerhobbies and it says the powerwagon is discontinued, so get it if you can.
