I met Ric at a hotel. I was a waiter and he was at the bar. Came down to the kitchen to introduce himself to one of the cooks that was a huge wrestling fan. She cried her eyes out as he hugged her. Ric is a great dude in my opinion.

Ric still has done terrible things like alot of these wrestlers and he probably enjoyed the attention he's stuck in that persona and won't snap out of it and him drinking so much is probably why he always took the time to socialize with any and everybody. I say this as an alcoholic myself.

The part about Flair not being able to be alone you have to keep in mind he was adopted. He never knew his real parents. He's gone on record saying his adoptive parents were absolutely wonderful to him but there's only so much anyone can do to help with the knowledge that your actual parents abandoned you. I think that's just a psychological trauma he's never gotten over and his need to be around people and constantly validated is due to that.

Hogan has really turned a corner, it seems. Nash has said that Hogan is kind of misunderstood. I could see how people would say the business-first, money-centric attitude was a thing. It seems like it was though maybe Hogan was doing some things, living a much faster life and didn't take stock. But time and mortality humbles even this guy.

Doesn't excuse what they did during, though. They still need to own up and make amends for that if it's to be set right.

Here's the thing regarding Ric's lifestyle. He did hit the genetic jackpot in terms of the abuse a body can take and still keep going... It's great that he's still alive and still has his attitude, but do NOT mistake that for everyone.
I get really depressed (and angry) when I see people who live a destructive lifestyle of non-stop partying, drinking, smoking, drugs, fast times, you name it and seem to always conveniently have something like, "oh well my grandma lived until 89 years old and smoked every day and she was fine!" as they're lighting up another cigarette... But they never seem to tell how that 89 year old actually lived OTHER than that, right? They fail to mention the frail health, the mental toll, the slow moving, the pain, the hard breathing, you name it...
That right there is denial. The vast majority of humans cannot escape the biological laws of cause and effect. I am also not a proponent of being straight-edge. I drink to excess as well, but my days of going hard ALL the time are done.
I read a quote somewhere that said something like, "you spend the first 30 years of your life abusing your health and the next 30 years trying to fix the abuse."
