My Savage mk1* has a Canadian stock as well. I have been told in the past that it was maple and to be careful as it may crack in freezing temperatures. Out of curiosity, is your nose cap a Canadian one as well? Excellant video!
ive got a no4 mk1 that has been sportized and i was wondering if you could help me find a good place to find forends for it? by the way i love your video! :)
I used to have one of those and it I believe had the micrometer adjustable sight...I have it to my nephew in the last century :) - it was sporterised by a bro-in-law which I regret having it done but it's the nephews prob now :) great vid and I shall forward it to my son in Colorado.
I have a question about the Enfield No2 Mk 1. How do you sight it in? I have one and I want to hunt with it, but the screw on the sight want move the sight when turned. I would appreciate any help you could give me. Thanks
I've got a 1942 MkI* S, similar to that one in the middle. Are you finding that it is easier to find parts for these in EU or AU? My bolt handle doesn't have a hole in it like yours though...Is that an original bolt on the middle rifle?
From what i understand savage stopped putting the dates on their rifles sometime in 1943. My own savage (not as pretty as that one) was made in 1943 so it saw some heavy use. As did my maltby which was made in the same year. You have some very handsome rifles there Jollygreenslug.
Question....I have a 303 British with 1946 stamped on the wrist band.According to this informative video,I think it might be a No.4 mk1*.It does not have the bolt release button. I live in Canada and I was wondering if this was a Savage or the Canadian made Longbranch?
13 years later... Long Branch is Canadian! Savage is American. If your gun is not clearly marked as one or the other it could be English made. The markings on your rifle should clearly tell where it was made.
when I got mine as listed in popular science or some such, it was about $13.00 postpaid and then Kennedy was killed with an Italian rifle and that ended the free flow of weapons...You can get them but as you noted, lots of bucks :)
boy o boy I wan't a lee enfield so bad!!!! everyone says I'm an idiot and that they can't hit the broad side of a barn but man I still love them. can anyone tell me about the accuracy of this gun?
