I'm so eager to play switch 2! The switch honestly has slowly crept it's way up to becoming my favourite console of all time. I first got a second hand switch lite, then a brand new switch lite, then the OLED. I've loved every single one of these consoles to death. Now i'm all in on the switch 2.
Jeez that implied optical sensor feature has just been making me stupidly excited. The amount of useful or interesting uses they could have for that is insane! It would already fix the Wii/wii u port issue of having to use the gyroscope and recalibrating for pointing. Now you'd just use the mouse function!!! Thats not even mentioning that mario paint may end up getting ported!
My first ever gaming system was a NES. The SNES was awesome, the N64 with goldeneye and perfect dark. Mario on game cube. I'm thrilled that the switch 2 looks like a powerful family friendly machine for me and my young son. Can't wait to introduce him to mario kart!
I'm very excited by the potential of the optical sensor! I am a big strategy buff so the possibility of having integrated mouse support for games on Switch 2 has me over the moon! This could also open things up for MMORPGs too, (if Switch 2's online is overhauled of course) there's a whole catalogue of MMOs that rely on cursor support that could feasibly be ported now. What an exciting time to be a Nintendo fan
Here's what I would like to see, and expect to see; • Super Mario Kart (9 or 10) will be a launch title and have upwards of 50 characters in the roster. Includjng some more obscure Mario characters like E.Gadd and Wart. • Super Mario Maker 3 will be a Holiday title celebrating Mario's (and Nintendo's console) anniversary of 40 years. With the ability to make Mario courses based around other NES titles like Ice Climber, Kirby's Adventure and Metroid. • Animal Crossing will be announced but won't release until Spring/Summer 2026. • Star Fox Zero will have a Remaster. However I would prefer an Assault remaster/remake. • OCARINA OF TIME will be the game that the film is based on, and on that there will be a Remake of the game with a complete overhaul in graphics, gameplay style and more. Akin to how FF7Remake is a remake of FF7. The game will be the first of a brand NEW Zelda timeline/series, and will just be called "The Legend of Zelda." • A new 3D mario will be announced and will release Holiday 2026. • Metroid Prime 4 will officially be revealed with gameplay and more. It will release early 2026. • Arms 2 will have a release and tenth anniversary releasing early 2026. • And, finally, Pokémon Z-A will be releasing this August. Gen 10 will officially have small tidbits released over the course of this year in time for it's official reveal on Pokémon's 30th Anniversary in February 2026.
I'm kinda thinking, that what if the dock itself is actually going to do more than just output it to the TV. The original Switch's dock did give the system a very small boost in performance, I'm wondering if Switch 2 goes all out on this, not just performance, but maybe graphics and stuff as well...?
I do not understand why people want 1080p in handheld. The pixel density on 720p is already high enough for a crisp image in handheld mode. The Steam Deck uses 800p and it looks great. 1080p just means a worse performance, higher energy consumpion therefore less battery life and more heat for a next to non-noticable difference in image quality. Thats just silly.
Completely agree. I care about stuff being better or being just as good. Why should I care about a number being bigger if that means actually playing a game will feel/look worse?
This is what I don’t get about the criticisms of the switch. It’s a handheld first peak performance is not conducive to mobility. I’d rather have something with a little less power but better optimized and a game designed for its weight class. If you want to flex with your peak gaming rig just buy a pc
Personally, I can see the difference between 720p and 1080p on a screen the size of Switch. More so on the Switch 2's larger screen. I wouldn't be bothered that much if Nintendo sticks with 720p until 2032 (assuming similar console life) but it would be odd. I'm more annoyed with capturing a 30s video at 720p while I was watching it at 1080p on my TV moments ago. Especially with games like Splatoon witch has so many things happening on the screen. I am gonna buy it nonetheless, but I hope Nintendo made some right quality choices with Switch 2 because they have to stick with them for the rest of this decade.
720 is "crisp" but 1080 would still be crisper. Either way, framerate and things like texture quality and draw distance are a looot more important than the resolution past 720p on a screen like this
I'm super interested in switch 2... but, right now, my mind is on the pokemon direct. I want generations 1-3 on the switch, either NSO or a collection. I'd probably pay $60 for the 11 games
I honestly hope it's a 720p screen for the sake of the battery. I really don't think 1080p is going to make much of a difference on a portable handheld screen
I'm calling it: we are going to see a new Splatoon during the april direct. Splatoon 3 was released all the way back in 2022 and the upcoming release of a new game would explain why support for Splatoon 3 ended last september.
The PS1 was just called the PlayStation originally. So yeah, I guess it's the Switch 1 now. Also again, Sony, their controllers are called DualShock, DualShock 2 etc. Not that I think Nintendo will go down that route for the JoyCons
Astral Chain 2, Bayonetta 4, Zelda Wind Waker, Zelda Twilight Princess remake, Metroid Prime 4, Luigi Mansion 4, Mario Odyssey 2, Kirby Yarn 🧶 should be on Switch 2
Having MK9 or whatever it's called as a launch title would be very important to get the thing to a flying start immediately, unless it's totally overpriced like the 3ds was. I'm also wondering if the switch procontroller will work for switch 2 games, or if 3rd party controllers will work like my wired 3rd party controller, does the dock have usb ports? I wouldn't be too keen on buying all those again. Oh and wouldn't it be cool to be able to play 4-player splitscreen online simultaneously on MK9, instead of only 2-player.
What do you think will be the first-party accessories available on launch day? Additional joy-con colors, switch 2 pro controller, joy-con charging stand, etc..? Curious your thoughts
I just wish for social features and street pass. And a feature i DESPERATELY NEED, is to be able to stick these joycon to the fridge next to my other magnets
I think the button like thing you see on 3:35 at the bottom is the magnet. At the top you have the same just with the pin in the middle to seperate them.
2:18 Switch 1 is good(to call it) 8:15 I would like to see games with motion controls. Like Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, but with more action with the sword and shield. It would also be nice to have other weapons, like a bow and spear.
I don't think the joy cons have magnets at all because the way they always put the joycons into the console and the grip In The trailer shows the bottom goes in first then the top so I think its just a leverage mechanical button on the top and it hooks into a notch so the bottom part needs to go in first and come out last
My question is will the current Pro controller work with the new console or will we have to buy new ones? If we did you would think there would be leaks from other third party companies.
Hyped but sad no analogue triggers again. Not deal breaking but would have been nice for racing fans like me. Dealbreaker would be another 720 screen but i highly down they didnt upgrade to 1080. Im not foing from an oled to 8 inch 720
Idk exactly how signing up for the experience thing works but I was able to sign for both paris and london, I'll probably become ineligible for one if I win the other but still
I have doubts, but they kinda left it open that even tho switch2 will play switch1 carts, they haven't said anything about releasing new games physically..it could be for legacy only, and then they could try and snuff out those pesky leaks
given they launch their latest system this year, and it is the 40th annivesary of Mario, and like 7, or 8 whatever, years since oddysy... still can not believe that game is that old already... but yeah, I think a brand new Super Mario game would make sense, and they have had plenty of time to plan it. Altough it does make to much sense, so probably Nintendo don't want to do it, because is to predictable.. I do wish we get some other new Mario stuff.. some collectibles, some music, toy, remakes, or rereleases... perhaps most of all, I sincerely hope they do another G&W game this summer, like at the 35th.. I love that g&w, I collect g&w, I ended up playing it quite alot this past week, with all the hype about switch 2, and speculating in a new mario game, I still not beaten the original mario game, but I loved playing it again this week. and I sat a new personal record on ball on the mario game, well, on A mode, I had not really bothered with A mode before, I was not able to beat my previous one on b mode, I got about 3000 points on b, but I am over that.. so really no new records, but I spend a few hours, really enjyoing it. I really want another Mario G&W, they could focus on the 16 bit era, or stay with the GB, gbc to stay with only needing 2 buttons, still those games are awesome, and ofc one of the original g&w with marios head slapped ontop.. or ofc they could add like one, or a bunch of the already existing mario G&W, I do own the mario cement factory, honestly that is my least favourite of the g&w games, I forget the button layout, but I think like they did with gallery, they could make it work with the current setup from last mario g&w. honestly.. Im almost more excited about the idea of more G&w then the switch 2, especially with zelda 40th next year... also while, super mario world, needs more button, which might be a problem with another G&W in that format as the original one, like previous 2 at the 35th annivesary... super Mario allstars, I think they can get away with the only 2 button layout.. seriously, if they do like a menu remake of all-stars, and make another G&W with that game as the focus, mayby a reskin old g&w game, and mayby the gb mario games, it would be an amazing addition to the g&w lineup.. as much as the all star game is amazing, making a new menu, because the old one sucks, and is kinda confusing, I seem to remember, and make it reflect the controller look, it would be incredibly. and if possibly, making the dpad, slighty bigger, not a problem with mario, but on zelda, it was noticable how small that was, and kinda ruined actually playing it on it, still did quite alot of hours on it.
I think a new Mario Maker would be the best for the anniversary. A "Super Mario Maker Wonder" if you will. Including games like Super Mario Bros., 3, World, New, 3D and Wonder would be perfect. I would also love it if the game itself had a MiiVerse style thing like the good 'ol days on the Wii U.
You guys RLY! pumping out Switch 2 videos 😂 Same talkingpoints in every video too ;) I love you guys, but seriously, you have talked about the same things about this for like 7 videos 😅
I remember getting the Xbox 360 it was supposed to be backwards compatible over half of my original Xbox games did not work. You had to go online and look at a list to find out what games would work. So disapointing i wouldn't get your hopes up. I hope im wrong.
call me a debbie downer but there's no way the new magnetic (?) slap-on (?) feature for the joy-cons isn't going to have longevity issues, either from parts bending or just dust accumulation. i was under the impression the point of the slide-on mechanism in the first switch was to prevent these issues! idk, i was really hoping the switch 2 would fix some of the QOL/longevity issues of the first switch, and maybe it will! but as of now i'm not convinced.
Not a touch screen? LOL In what universe does Nintendo release a backwards compatible Switch 2, but without a touch screen? It's true they haven't explicitly said it, though. Maybe all those games that use it will be incompatible.
At that size, realistically it would be more like those mouse nubs on some laptops. But that would make more sense as a circle instead of a square. I'm thinking it's just a button.
@@logicalfundy don't forget there's gonna be a C on the button, Nintendo removed it for the trailer. It'll have a feature that starts with C most likely
Honestly hardware wise it’s a solid 8/10. It’s kinda missing a few important features, especially for crossplatform games. I wanna see: - Analog triggers on ZL/ZR in the style of the wii classic controller 1.0 (this was a nintendo invention and crossplatform features). - Left joycon buttons should be designed a bit like the Playstation Dpad, but underneath its 4 separate buttons. Basically 4 buttons closer together but with groves to rest your thumb in the middle. - Hall effect sticks (we dont know yet). Longer travel time for the sticks, seems like basically the same as the OG joycons :(. Pro controller: - Analog Triggers, with full range of travel. - Headphone jack w/mic support. (I love that you can play at night easy with headphones on ps5/xbox) Fix the Online Eco-System, 2 issues right now is that playerbases die so fast for non-1st party games and the netcode for games are bad. Make 3 tiers: Free: - Can Online Matchmake on any non-nintendo game. (3rd party games die in a month, to prevent this) - Can Add friends via friend code. - Game Invites. - No user name, just a bunch of letters/numbers in game. $20 a year/Standard Subscription: - Play 1st party games online. - add friends via username. (Unlike free now your username is registered/owned) - Text/DMs and Party chat only with friends. - Achievements/Trophies. - Discord Support. - NES, SNES, GB, GBA and Arcade games included. On a paid account there should be a credit card linked, so that means parents should know that the console is online. Kids have to go out their way to add friends cant get bullied by randoms in DMs. By default have everything off, then people should go on the website with the acct log in to turn on chat and stuff. Plus: - Verified badge. - Everything. - N64, Genesis, Gamecube and DS games included. For games, I want to see: Re-release of Mario 3D All Stars Deluxe. This time add: - 4k/1440p support for all games. For mario 64: - 60 FPS and option to play widescreen. - Option for button remaps and analog camera controls. - (fix graphics being wrong) Use 3 point texture filtering instead of add anti aliasing (missing from n64) - fix audio delay and muffling. - Option for 1.0 version of the game with a button combo or something. - NSO N64 controller support. - 60 FPS for Mario Sunshine. - Retain Gamecube adapter support. - Mario Galaxy 2 The limited time release and poor emulation makes the game needs a 2nd chance. Release in 2025, then Odyssey 2 in 2026. - Metroid Prime 2 Remake in 2025. (the first one was really good, use the same company) then a Metroid Prime 3 Remake in first half of 2026. - Metroid Prime 4, released in 2nd half of 2026/when it’s ready. With online multiplayer similar to Arena shooters/classic Halo. - Zelda Wind Waker HD + Twilight Princess Dual Pack w/60 fps. AI upscale the Twilight Princess environment textures and add Ray Tracing/lighting improvements. - Ocarina of Time/Majora’s Mask 3D port dual pack. Maybe even include A Link Between Worlds. Upgrade the resolution and 60fps. (Look up emulators on max settings). Do this the year after. - New F-Zero, to show off hardware. +Good Online Multiplayer. - Star Fox reboot, in the style of Assault/64. Expand on the pvp and online. - Kid Icarus Uprising port or sequel. - Scarlet/Violet “third version” like a pokemon emerald. Should have the game heavily re-optimized with all content from both games+dlc “remixed”. - Smash Ultimate Deluxe. Base game with all DLC. Reworked online multiplayer, should actually work now. Then 1 DLC pass to end it, with: - Crash Bandicoot - Master Chief - Laura Croft - Sub Zero - 5th one idk Ray Man? - Waluigi (as a bonus like piranha plant) Base game: - Ganondorf, based on Twilight Princess design and final boss fight. Un-clone him. - New Pokemon, maybe a new Grass Starter or Sceptile. (To finish out the Trio of starters) - Tingle, as a joke character. There hasn’t been a new original zelda character since 2001. - Dixie Kong - Bandana Dee (kirby forgotten world made him player 2, so he more important now) - Toggle stage hazards with a button. Nerfs to DLC like Steve, Kazuya, Mythra/Pyra, Min-Min. Then to Sonic and Game & Watch. Fix moves and buff low tiers. Give heavies longer tech rolls, more invincibility on rolls/airdodges. Patches: - Every Switch 1 game should be improved just by the hardware, but optimization patches should be a thing. - Tears of The Kingdom, needs one bad. - All Pokemon Games. - Pikmin 4 - Age of Calamity
Everyone considering the mouse thing hard confirmed but like... I did the comparison said here to my mouse and while its similar to some degree, I'd very much hesitate to call them identical. We really should be dialing back the expectation here. People are treating it like its confirmed when at best its likely and at worst is everyone misinterpreting the entire scene.
@@mildhoof That looked more like joy cons imitating cars (or karts, given its Nintendo) racing around. Its not confirmed at all. Now it COULD be mouse functionality but that's not a confirmation in the slightest. Merely getting an impression.
@@GameAW1 There have been numerous leaks, confirmed in the hardware Nintendo revealed here, including shots of the sensor and then they showed the joycons upright moving along a flat surface with the sensors facing the flat surface. How are you this dense bro?
@ I'll give you I haven't been keeping up with the leaks so I'll have to look into that one, but the animation EASILY passes off as Nintendo quirkiness and imitating the Joy Cons racing against each other. And what game did they show literally seconds later? Why, it was Mario Kart! A game where players race one another on tracks! And this is the same company that had Reggie fighting Iwata in an anime battle just to introduce amiibo. It fits their M.O. to a T
I have it on strong authority that Nintendo won't be calling the controllers a set of "joycon"... they'll be calling them Joycons. Because that's what they should have been called in the first place. I absolute HATE how Nintendo refuse to pluralise. It's the height of cringe. Amiibo (rather than Amiibos), two Pikachu (Rather than Pikachus) and a set of joycon. Grrr
You guys are the only channel I've seen that for some reason even considers the possibility that the new Mario Kart will be called Mario Kart 10 or X just because of Mario Kart Tour, and I have no idea why. There's absolutely no way that Nintendo will count Mario Kart Tour as Mario Kart 9.
really glad they decided to keep the power button. Turning this thing on will be so important to having a good gaming experience

They should call the new Joycon the RejoiceCon.
all i want is to have steady and stable game and new games or remake instead of remaster older game
FINALLY, thank you Zion, EVERYONE is saying its red and its been driving me INSANE lol its 1000% orange
GameCube port on the switch 2 I could only wish
What if the mouse features get us a Wii emulator :3
I have doubts, but they kinda left it open that even tho switch2 will play switch1 carts, they haven't said anything about releasing new games physically..it could be for legacy only, and then they could try and snuff out those pesky leaks
Mario RTS incoming
Waiting for April
We didn't start calling the Xbox "Xbox 1" after the Xbox 360 came out. Woulda been pretty funny though.
given they launch their latest system this year, and it is the 40th annivesary of Mario, and like 7, or 8 whatever, years since oddysy... still can not believe that game is that old already... but yeah, I think a brand new Super Mario game would make sense, and they have had plenty of time to plan it.
You guys RLY! pumping out Switch 2 videos 😂
Same talkingpoints in every video too ;) I love you guys, but seriously, you have talked about the same things about this for like 7 videos 😅
Switch 1 sounds strange 😅😂😜
I remember getting the Xbox 360 it was supposed to be backwards compatible over half of my original Xbox games did not work. You had to go online and look at a list to find out what games would work. So disapointing i wouldn't get your hopes up. I hope im wrong.
Switch Tuah on that thang
forever mad it's not called the Swiitch
can the joycon stick strudy like the switch 1
But, will we finally get Geometry Wars? 🤔
Will The Switch Pro Controller Work ? Or The original Joycon ?
🤔
According to old leaked info - which got other things right -, yes.
call me a debbie downer but there's no way the new magnetic (?) slap-on (?) feature for the joy-cons isn't going to have longevity issues, either from parts bending or just dust accumulation. i was under the impression the point of the slide-on mechanism in the first switch was to prevent these issues! idk, i was really hoping the switch 2 would fix some of the QOL/longevity issues of the first switch, and maybe it will! but as of now i'm not convinced.
So this is the Switch 2?? How about Switch Oled and Switch lite? Are they also a switch 2??
I don’t care what Nintendo says, I’m still calling it Super Switch and super joy-cons 😊
Not a touch screen? LOL
In what universe does Nintendo release a backwards compatible Switch 2, but without a touch screen?
It's true they haven't explicitly said it, though. Maybe all those games that use it will be incompatible.
I see Zion, I like!
why is ben affleck bringing the switch 2 news?
I just hope the console is 4k 60 fps with ray tracing like the original switch.
I would say the supposed C button is a trackpad
Way too small for that
At that size, realistically it would be more like those mouse nubs on some laptops. But that would make more sense as a circle instead of a square. I'm thinking it's just a button.
@@logicalfundy don't forget there's gonna be a C on the button, Nintendo removed it for the trailer. It'll have a feature that starts with C most likely
Nintendo Attach hahaha, I remember so many UA-camrs
how many more videos you gonna make from this reveal ?
Honestly hardware wise it’s a solid 8/10. It’s kinda missing a few important features, especially for crossplatform games.
I wanna see:
- Analog triggers on ZL/ZR in the style of the wii classic controller 1.0 (this was a nintendo invention and crossplatform features).
Pro controller:
- Analog Triggers, with full range of travel.
- Headphone jack w/mic support. (I love that you can play at night easy with headphones on ps5/xbox)
Fix the Online Eco-System, 2 issues right now is that playerbases die so fast for non-1st party games and the netcode for games are bad. Make 3 tiers:
Free:
- Can Online Matchmake on any non-nintendo game. (3rd party games die in a month, to prevent this)
- Can Add friends via friend code.
- Game Invites.
- No user name, just a bunch of letters/numbers in game.
$20 a year/Standard Subscription:
- Play 1st party games online.
- add friends via username. (Unlike free now your username is registered/owned)
- Text/DMs and Party chat only with friends.
Plus:
- Verified badge.
- Everything.
- N64, Genesis, Gamecube and DS games included.
For games, I want to see:
Re-release of Mario 3D All Stars Deluxe. This time add:
- 4k/1440p support for all games.
For mario 64:
- 60 FPS and option to play widescreen.
- Option for button remaps and analog camera controls.
- (fix graphics being wrong) Use 3 point texture filtering instead of add anti aliasing (missing from n64)
- fix audio delay and muffling.
- Option for 1.0 version of the game with a button combo or something.
- NSO N64 controller support.
- 60 FPS for Mario Sunshine.
- Retain Gamecube adapter support.
- Mario Galaxy 2
The limited time release and poor emulation makes the game needs a 2nd chance.
Then 1 DLC pass to end it, with:
- Crash Bandicoot
- Master Chief
- Laura Croft
- Sub Zero
- 5th one idk Ray Man?
- Waluigi (as a bonus like piranha plant)
Base game:
- Ganondorf, based on Twilight Princess design and final boss fight. Un-clone him.
- New Pokemon, maybe a new Grass Starter or Sceptile. (To finish out the Trio of starters)
- Tingle, as a joke character. There hasn’t been a new original zelda character since 2001.
- Dixie Kong
- Bandana Dee (kirby forgotten world made him player 2, so he more important now)
- Toggle stage hazards with a button.
Nerfs to DLC like Steve, Kazuya, Mythra/Pyra, Min-Min. Then to Sonic and Game & Watch. Fix moves and buff low tiers. Give heavies longer tech rolls, more invincibility on rolls/airdodges.
Patches:
- Every Switch 1 game should be improved just by the hardware, but optimization patches should be a thing.
- Tears of The Kingdom, needs one bad.
- All Pokemon Games.
- Pikmin 4
- Age of Calamity
Everyone considering the mouse thing hard confirmed but like... I did the comparison said here to my mouse and while its similar to some degree, I'd very much hesitate to call them identical. We really should be dialing back the expectation here. People are treating it like its confirmed when at best its likely and at worst is everyone misinterpreting the entire scene.
They even animated it to look like a 🐭 It’s confirmed bro
It fits their M.O. to a T
@@GameAW1 👍
One Two Switch Two Two better be a launch title.
Grrr
Hi zion, any chance of that earthbound play through continuing?
me me i'm a switch boy
You guys are the only channel I've seen that for some reason even considers the possibility that the new Mario Kart will be called Mario Kart 10 or X just because of Mario Kart Tour, and I have no idea why. There's absolutely no way that Nintendo will count Mario Kart Tour as Mario Kart 9.
I swear I remember hearing that Nintendo considers 8 Deluxe to be 9 internally
Switch 2 just like wii u pass
im hearing an1080p LCD not oled.. 2K docked
It’s switch pro. That’s it
Please just call it the O led...
It's Wisconsin pronunciation. 😄
