Carpe Diem makes the best fly fishing videos on UA-cam. You capture all of the little details and take the viewer with you on the river. Get to see the highs and lows and follow them with the angler. Perfection. Love your work. Thanks heaps for sharing.

In the depth of winter there is no better way to pass an evening than watching Carpe Diem videos to whet the appetite for the coming season on England's chalk streams.

Beautiful. Man cannot create this kind of feast for the senses, but he can capture some of the moments as you have. My most peaceful times have been on the sea at night and flyfishing in the mountains. Thanks.

Some will say that a fisherman that brings many fish is lucky. They are wrong. Luck is the residue of hard work. For example using the right bait at the right time (doing one’s homework). You have my utmost appreciation for every upload. Best regards always. 🤗

It’s like a dream come true when the are feeding steady in the feeding lane and all you have to do is get the right fly in front of them and they make that nice shuttle take . Sometimes that don’t even know their hooked for a brief second then it’s game on . Thank god not everyone knows this feeling :-)

Gentlemen, I'm your biggest fan, I watch all your amazing videos, but I can't help but notice the number of times (quite a lot) some of yous guys miss the fish on the strike. Now, don't get me wrong, I do not wish to lecture well experienced anglers, but I believe that I know an aspect of your technique that doesn't work so well. You can take this advice or leave it, up to you.
For example, at 2:28 when the fish is missed, I believe that the rod tip is way too high off the water and that you are not in 'contact' with the fly well enough - there is a loop of line, approx 1 metre long, hanging below the rod tip and in this instance this loop of line needs to be lifted and straightened during the strike before the hook can be set, having to do this is time consuming and clumsy, it is not ideal. So.. when dry fly fishing, I would like to suggest that you lower the rod tip right down until it is nearly touching the water and keep it there at all times in preparation for any strike, always. I would also suggest reducing the number of coils of line on the water, picking up any slack line, so that again you remain in 'contact' with the fly as best as possible. This means that when you strike then the strike is almost instantaneous, and that you are in better control.
These are fundamental aspects that I can't believe I so often see experienced anglers not doing. Please learn to do this and I promise you that you will convert more of your strikes. In the meantime, please don't stop making these beautiful, fun, truly wonderful videos. Yous guys are the best of the best, in the best places in the world too!..
