This is one of the greatest albums ever created. It's helped me through so much in my life. Truly beautiful.
this song can bring me tears and smiles, I just love it with all my heart. This entire album is so special to me as well, the band. Will miss you guys.
In another interesting twist I'm just now learning the breakup that spawned Charlie Fink to write this whole album was with none other than Laura Marling - a brilliant songwriter/singer in her own right who was in the band for their previous album (in fact probably a better artist than this band except for this album). No wonder the first album so over the top happy and this one is entirely about depression - the two singers were in love on the first one and then broke up and she left the band. And her solo stuff is so unlike this stuff. Crazy, this album has been fundamental in getting me through some very tough transition stages in my life to figure out, as well as a serious breakup of my own, and just feeling lost and alone. And just this minute I'm realizing there was so much more to it.

this song is beautiful.i was crippled with horrible black depression and literally didnt get out of bed for two years.it was fucking horrible.on reflection this song reminds me of that time..the lyrics are positive but sad and heartfelt.amazing record..amazing

Having had some real awful depressive period in 2012 when I was in my late 20’s where I literally didn’t go out the house or couldn’t even answer the phone for a good 18 months that lyric ‘I’d do anything to be happy’ really hits hard because that’s exactly how I felt back then

i actually got to go to the premiere of this, and although there were "technical difficulties", we were the first people other than their families to watch the movie (in my student union with the boys all there to discuss it!!). The film is absolutely stunning. Seriously. Buy it and watch it. this song is my new favourite of theirs! It's kind of brooding, but really really beautiful and all tinged with nostalgia. Absolutely brilliant!!

the whole time I've been listening to this album I was thinking "wow, it sounds like it should be the soundtrack to a film." low and behold...
It is about a man who has lost the love of his life, and as he tries to get better he eventually drowns himself as he cannot handle the pain. This represents when the lead singer of Noah and the Whale, Charlie Fink, got his heart broken by his girlfriend. So he wrote this album and made this movie.
i saw it in hmv.. as like a dvd and cd combo type thing..but instead of a cd case its in a book. it looked really cool

Nahh a troll attempt.. You see, I was clinically depressed, and on the verge of suicide.
I was given tablets, so i was chilled for a lot of the day and just sat inside looking around youtube. I found this song, and fell in love, it made me realize that what was happening in my life was going to end eventually and i might as well just get out
This song didn't solely help me, it opened my eyes and i learnt to get one with my life
