Hi! I'm here to zentangles, I like them but I can't tell what is their use? Could you enlighten me, please? Thanks
Good question Maggie!
Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas designed the Zentangle method realising that anyone can create beautiful art creating structured designs following some basic steps. Originally, they used a small square tile because they are easy to rotate as you tangle on them and can be completed in a relatively short period of time. These tiles are very portable so you can tangle almost anywhere. Since this method has taken off and grown, people all over the world have come to find additional benefits other than creating a small piece of art. It is relaxing, relieves stress, improves self confidence and cultivates moment to moment awareness in a similar way as mindfulness meditation. As the method has evolved people are starting to use other materials. The original Zentangle method is non representational but you may see Zentangle used in a way that is representational so it is known as Zentangle inspired art.
You may ask, “what do I do with these small tiles?” Also a good question! I have a drawer full of them! You can put them in journals or frame them. The patterns are beautiful and don’t have to be done only on small tiles. You can tangle on bookmarks, greeting cards, shoes, bags…. Almost anything! It is a beautiful way of decorating whatever you desire.
@@TracyAnneWilkinson so thankful for your ample response! I didn't know about this kind of art and came to your page by accident. I have saved now some of your tutorials but was wondering what you do with them after painting them. I have now a clearer idea how to use them now. Thanks a lot!!!! Greetings from Mexico
