    I have tried and like both, in 5" and 7". No data but I'm happy with both, especially for the ease of transport!

      Thank you for the feedback! They should be also less likely to get stuck on branches and safer for turtle mode in tall vegetation. I need to spend more time flying both and see.

    Could you compare both of these folding props to a non-folding one like say the Gemfan 51466? So we can see what difference there is.

    Sorry if this seems like a dumb question to you but how did the Gemfans generate more thrust with lower pitch and being heavier than the DALprops while on the same kv motor and at the same voltage? Sorry if this seems obvious to you i'm new to FPV.

    • @muteFPV
      @muteFPV  4 роки тому +3

      I was not expecting this either but numbers never lie. It looks like the smaller blade surface area of the DALprops makes a lot of difference. What you see in the video is just a fragment of several tests, I always confirm the results before publishing anything.

    • @stevenkelby2169
      @stevenkelby2169 4 роки тому +1

      Lower pitch means that the motor has an easier time, so they can spin faster and produce more thrust.
      Maybe idk lol.

      I noticed this myself the other day as well when switching back and forth between these two props on my Nazgul5. I could immediately feel the increased thrust of the Gemfans, especially when doing a full throttle ounchout but also just troughout the throttle range. I had to look up this video and check that I was not imagining things since one would assume that the the lower pitch props have less thrust, not more!.
      thatks for these excellent tests!

      They can, yes. The Gemfans will probably be easier to disassemble.

    hey!, nice comparison, what about vibration? I have the DAL 7 inch and I can clearly see they make my floss vibrate (I see the xfire pro antena vibrate) while a standard non folding prop does not. can you do some sort of vibration test for both?

    • @muteFPV
      @muteFPV  4 роки тому +1

      RCbenchmark has supported my test series with a new test rig that also measures vibrations and torque. I am not ready yet to release any results, my schedule has been all over the place due to COVID and I am still fine tuning everything. Specifically for vibration tests I am considering running multiple tests on multiple props (of the same type) and average the results. I have also noticed that the blades are looser on the shaft of the DALprops and tighter on the shaft of the Gemfans, I don't know yet if and which is better and how this affects their characteristics.

    • @RCracingSLO

      @@muteFPV for the props on the motors you need to turn the propeller 90 degrees to the bell and see if there is more or less vibration. Nowadays all props can be made to run perfectly smooth this way.

    • @muteFPV
      @muteFPV  4 роки тому

      @Miha Oh I didn't know that. What is the reasoning behind this?

    • @RCracingSLO
      @RCracingSLO 4 роки тому +1

      @@muteFPV Not every motor bell is centered perfectly. You cannot just put on the prop and expect it spin perfectly smoothly. Tiny balance imperfections can be ironed out with trying the prop in different positions on the bell. Once you will have the new rig you can test this out pretty easily. Good friend of mine was always checking each prop in the BF motor tab and feeling the vibrations holding the quads arm. Yes, the prop change took 5 minutes, but he was flying smooth till first hit, LOL :-) But 2 blade 65mm push on props like on Diatone GTB229 can be evenly just "blindly" rotated and within a minute there are literally no vibrations at all :-)

    • @muteFPV
      @muteFPV  4 роки тому

      Not sure if it is worth it, as you said it will only last until first crash :D :D :D I was curious about the 90 degrees you mentioned and thought there was something I missed. Props aren't perfectly balanced either so if you would be getting into this whole process, maybe balancing props and bells and the bench is more time efficient than doing that on every prop change with trial and error.

    Bought some of the dal ones, most of them are already shredded because the plastic of the blades is so thin, would not recommend. Also they suck at turtle mode by flipping the quad 360° instead of 180°.
