A week later we then smashed villa on a foggy boxing day. Probably my 2 best memories of being on the west terrace. Those were happy days. Pusb.
Cov had a good record against Liverpool at Highfield Road.
There was always massive bias against Coventry in those days. We smashed Liverpool 5-1 and all the pundits could talk about was how terrible Liverpool were. If it wasn’t for lineker mentioning us at the end you might have missed out who won beat Liverpool on the day. Jimmy Hill also used to face ridicule for supporting us, I seem to remember.
For many years from the early to mid 90's, Coventry used to be a boogie team for Liverpool at Highfield road. I was actually at the match , i think it was in 95, when Noel Whelan scored the winner from a Ndlouve cross.
i lose my voice for 2 days after this match. What a great day!!!
Took my girlfriend to this game on the day we got engaged. We’ve been married thirty years this year!! We went to anfield the following year and got beat 5-1 PUSB
The Liverpool demise really was something. Poor management and rank poor transfers. Letting Beardsley go. The wheels fell off in 1991.
Lovely stuff.
After this game coventry went 10 games without a win😊
free kick in the penalty box.... interesting..
PUSB 🐘
When Liverpool lose the whole country celebrates
Great days at the city
