So, you could choose to co-operate fully, or you could help and be helped until it was more profitable for you to betray your fellow player. This would have interesting effects on the gameplay; it's still scary, but more fun with two players, but the added question of, "Are they going to turn on me?" makes it a bit spicier. Also, there's still only the same amount of food available, and everyone has such different playstyles...I think it would be a little easier than solo, but harder in other ways. You'd probably need some extra rules, like no hitting each other, so no one waits until they reach the exit before stealing all the glory. Hermits could still set each other up for traps/in the path of ravagers to do away with their competitor. I know it seems a bit mean, but they've played similarly combative minigames in the past. Also keep in mind that a dead lackey can still help (which might actually be broken, we'll see if Tango keeps doing it) which basically means that anyone who tries to go into the black mines can almost ignore the blindness of Wardens, the most difficult aspect of level 3, and always know where the Wardens are so that the hermits can avoid them as much as possible. A dungeon lackey might actually make Deadly difficulty runs completely trivial.
@@TheMightySpurdoAs seen in the video, unless tango fixes this, items and enemies are outside Tango's render distance on levels 2 and 3 so best he can do is tell map layout.
@@scientificthesis That happened because Tango died basically at the entrance of the level 1, his corpse was too far away from the rest of the dungeon so he couldn't see the items (but he could indeed see the enemies, he always can). The system would benefit especially newer people who want to get a feel for the thinking behind the dungeon and those who just want fun content, while having diminishing returns for stronger players who need to increasingly rely on their own skills to handle the deeper parts of the dungeon... That was so fun! Zed was great but the absolute gratitude in X's voice when you sacrificed for him was amazing! I was grinning ear to ear mate. What a good episode!
Tango, regarding some Warden musing from your stream: - the Warden explicitly can NOT detect flapping from bats (or bee/chicken/dragon/parrot/phantom/vex). It's one of the only "game events" from players/mobs that it can't detect. (ONLY sculk sensors can detect flapping in any way). - silencing mobs has no effect on Wardens, they care about "vibrations" which are emitted separately. The only things wrapped by "isSilent()" are sounds themselves.
This HC season everyone finished their bases, NOT for the end of the season, but for the Grand Opening of Decked Out 2.0! You've done such a spledid job and I, for one, cannot WAIT to see how the hermits react as they get to the LOWER LEVELS :)
I'm going to post the same comment I posted on Zedaph's. I'm loving the dungeon lackey and I hope Tango keeps this idea of lackey from beyond the grave for when the lackey dies, it seems like it's a good option for the cost of 8 crowns for a lackey death on level 1 or death in general that isn't as useful as being IN the dungeon, but is still useful. It's not as helpful as being in the dungeon for things like having someone else look at the compass, throw potions, collect treasure, lure ravagers, be an extra set of eyes, etc. From beyond the grave he can mostly just give advice the player might not have, and maybe he could make it a rule for himself (to help nerf it) to not look ahead. Maybe just an aerial view right above the player to see paths and still be able to be asked for advice, but maybe no warning about mobs or looking ahead. So I think it's still helpful, but being in the dungeon should definitely be the more advantageous one. Like with Xisuma, it was epic when Tango sacrificed himself when Xisuma fell into the River of Souls and saved him!
Tango, what a great way to get the "coop" experience factored into Decked Out! You've made a wonderful game. The joy from you and the other Hermits playing it is palpable.

Whilst it was fascinating to watch X's run from Tangos perspective, X's Pov does a lot more to show the stakes. Its thrilling watch X run out of the dungeon with half a heart, knowing the slightest tick of damage would end the run. I didn't expect to see tango actually punch the ravagers though, I guess its a good strategy to get them to retarget, I just hope they got a regen treat afterwards, because unfortunately eating hermits doesn't replenish their health (even though it should)

Yeah playing with a buddy is fun, and watching it too! I wonder if Tango will do more of his own runs to warm up for lackey runs coming up haha
I'd recommend Hypno
X and Tango the new double act we never knew we needed! Loved these runs, can't wait for more Hermits to buy it.
That was so fun! Zed was great but the absolute gratitude in X's voice when you sacrificed for him was amazing! I was grinning ear to ear mate. What a good episode!
The X and Tango run must be my favourite of the whole game. Let's see if anything can top that perfection :D
Did not expect any videos from this channel for another 3 months. But it's a good surprise!
Tango, regarding some Warden musing from your stream:
- the Warden explicitly can NOT detect flapping from bats (or bee/chicken/dragon/parrot/phantom/vex).
THANK YOU for making decked out. It’s a privilege to get to see it in action and all of its glory
Xisuma's happy noises are healing the world
I don't think he would have the most fun playing Decked Out 2, but I feel TinFoilChef would have loved the caves. R.I.P. to a legend ❤
o7
RIP, you will be missed ❤❤❤
I can just imagine him in the caves laughing like a beast when he falls into the river and dies
10 solid minutes of Xisuma having a wonderful time. Thank you for this gift 🙏
Tango, what a great way to get the "coop" experience factored into Decked Out! You've made a wonderful game. The joy from you and the other Hermits playing it is palpable.
Tango, Decked Out is marvelous. You've really outdone yourself here. And you're providing so much content for everyone with your game. Thanks so much for everything you do. Hilarious episode. Keep it up!
Tango just casually built the greatest thing on vanilla minecraft
I wouldn't say "casually", haha. Over a year of work living in a hole took serious commitment.
"and zed, somehow, some way, bought *three* of them" oh no this is gonna be good
That run with X is exactly what the lacky item was made for - great entertainment! 😂❤
I've been waiting for Tango's perspective!! Love this!!!! Love how Tango calls them "Sire" 😄
My sides have been hurting for 44 minutes and 41 seconds from laughter
Thank you Tango, X, and Zed, you three are magnificent
After seeing x play cleos game and this lacky run I am utterly convinced that he is the heart of hermit craft who believes no one could do wrong and wants everyone to have a good time
x is definitely admin for a reason! haha but you're right I love his relationships with all the hermits he's such an obviously caring guy full of nothing but the best intentions :)
That run with X was so epic! And of course hilarity ensues with Zedaph! Honestly this episode has made me incredibly happy XD
The Zedaph runs were fun but the X one was AMAZING! Loved hearing the joy in your voice too
So excited for this! I was dying laughing in X and Zed’s videos. Tango, you are such a legend. We are all so addicted to decked out
Ah, Zed and Tango, one of the best duos, if not the best. Let's see if Zed get some worth from running with you
Those runs had me giggeling like a teen. Such a great dynamic between the hermits and Tango an Zedaph have a special kind of comedy to them anyway. Watched the run with X from his perspective already and I had loads of fun with that episode.
What I love about Zedaph buying Dungeon Lackey tokens, is that you know full well he didn't buy them because he needed Dungeon Master help, he bought them because he wants runs full of shenanigans. It's very on brand for Zedaph!
Yup 😂😂
Tango and Zed goofing around is the best thing ever
I love the difference in treatment to tango compared to zedaph vs xisuma
We were here - Decked Out Edition!
Amazing game Tango with the map design, card design, balance and overall game design. It's awesome watching all the Hermits play and been a joy watching you build this and the excitement on your face watching all the runs.
Well done on an amazing game and season so far. This is by far my favorite season of Hermitcraft so far
Congratulations sir TangoTek
I love how you act in the role of a lackey! I can't wait for the other play styles later on!
Can we get a video tour of everyone's personalized rooms in decked out? 🎉🎉🎉 love this!
The pure joy and laughter of the dungeon lackey and the DO player is absolutely the best! Cant wait for other hermits to start buying it now! (Hopefully Zep and X buy more too)
Wait wait an actual main channel video from Tango? lol this has been so much fun I can’t wait to see this from Tangos point of view!
@TangoTek you should get your own customized weapons and make yourself the final boss in a SECRET level!
Omygoodness I just finished Zeds video, so happy to see Tango's perspective!
These lackey runs are epic! I can’t wait to see more. Thank you Tango for such an awesome game.
I suspected the next video would be lackey services! I hadn't seen Zed's yet, all of these runs were so good 😂 I can't wait for more Hermits to buy one now
I’m convinced the zed runs were lackey testing for legitimate lackey runs
Tango THANK YOU SO MUCH for building the game. Between the development streams to the many many dungeon runs, I have spent many hours, if not days, enjoying Decked Out! Thanks! ❤😊
Whilst it was fascinating to watch X's run from Tangos perspective, X's Pov does a lot more to show the stakes. Its thrilling watch X run out of the dungeon with half a heart, knowing the slightest tick of damage would end the run. I didn't expect to see tango actually punch the ravagers though, I guess its a good strategy to get them to retarget, I just hope they got a regen treat afterwards, because unfortunately eating hermits doesn't replenish their health (even though it should)
This is top tier content. I'd love to see other hermits taking turns as being a Dungeon lackey too down the line
Card idea: Oracle's wish
Cost: 20 crowns
Status: Permanent Ethereal
Condition: one time purchase per player
Effect: Apon completion of a successful run, Player receives all unused Frost Embers of all their previous successful runs.
Tango would be an amazing person to play D&D with
Yes he would
Sincerely some of the most hilarious interactions I've ever seen from the hermits.
Your game has brought so much to the Minecraft community, to us viewers, and to your fellow hermits. Thank you for all your effort and dedication to create such a wonderful hub of fun, laughter, adventure and camaraderie.
I've been wondering what would happen if two people played together. Now I now and it's VERY entertaining. More of this please.
The Enjoyment this game has brought to us all,The laughs Have been many So Thank you Tango for all the Heart Stopping moments for You as well as Us watching and willing Every Hermit to get through till the end.. Hopefully you have a well earned Rest soon ❤ You've Earned it!!
Dungeon Lackey! Go, go, go!
So much fun! I can't wait for X to buy another!
Etho buying one could be downright terrifying.
Great video tango seeing you hermits laugh and have fun reminds me of the situations you all get into in the life series when you're the lacky.
Now that I have seen both perspectives of Xisuma's ruin I love the Leackey System even more, immensely funny
Dungeon lackey from beyond the grave is totally fair. No longer able to take the hit or be a decoy but still worth the price.
So proud of your work tango.. its truly incredible!!
if we’re trying to add difficulty with higher clank and the evokers arent sufficient, maybe some strays at higher clank levels? slowness + the higher clank challenges might be effective
I've been with you since you started the DO2 journey and have loved every second of the ride, but these Dungeon Master Lackey runs are absolutely my favorites! ❤
Lol
It looks more fun as lackey than running the dungeon.
But i’ve to say that you and Zedaph and you and Scar makes the greatest content together in my opinion.
I'm waiting for someone to use the "dungeon lackey" to command tango to close his eyes while they(the runner) throw Barry's into the compass spot.
Also for some payback by having tango activate the *Frost Walker* trap.
What I love about the Dungeon Lackey, besides the very good joke in coming up with the title, is that if you think it's too powerful for future phases all you have to do is play worse.
Tango! Decked out is amazing! All your hard work paid off congrats you deserve it
I cackled when Tango threw the slowness potion onto Zedaph and then immediately died.
this was a great idea for an episode. been watching all the streams the last few weeks and it has been amazing to see so many hermits enjoying this game
Lmao "You don't go into the black mines skipping hop scotch." 😂😂 xisuma's run was great!
Zed was on to something!
If you're gonna go deadly, you want a lacky to distract the wardens.
Those lackey runs were amazingly entertaining, as is all of Decked Out
I had only seen x's run so far, so much more great content to be seen!
lol I could see etho getting the lacky item and making tango stand in a berry bush at the start just so he can get the two extra evasion and potions for a run.
