1 - biot savart law 2 - T = F * R -> Use F calculation from field generated in Boit Savart, and the magnetism from the permanent magnets. I'll leave determination of r to you 3 - As long as they are 90 degrees from each other, it is fine.

3 pole don't work, have to be in pair 2, 4, 6, 8 10, and so on, more pole less speed but more torque
