@William Anthony Leasure Excuse us but in the UK locomotive engineers are called "drivers". Same job, different terminology.

@William Anthony Leasure "You guys". Sorry, but I am not in the UK. I am an American citizen living in the United States. I really don't think the amount of rolling stock matters as to what the engineer is called. Those people that operate subway trains in the U.S. are also called "drivers". Submarine skippers are called "drivers" also.

Does it need to have doubled locomotives for eleven coaches?

    • @mr.buddah6004

Nope but they wanted it to look good, and there's a backup locomotive if number one starts to have issues which does happen. Last thing u want to hear over the radio is " locomotive 4141 having issues and is now stranded dead on the tracks at milepost 256"

Despite the eerily sad silence when I saw the coffin in stars and stripes, I can't think of politics and patriotism when I saw press footage of Bush in the locomotive. I saw a guy with a wry smile and the freedom to do what he wished with his very own train. A fine example of how trains used to bring people together in the twentieth century.

I concur with you on that. Note this to y'all haters....HATE-FILLED POLITICAL COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED AND NOT BE TOLERATED!!! PROTOCOL DICTATES ACTION AGAINST THOSE WHO WRITE THE HATE COMMENTS.
This video is about the train and for GHW Bush's "final journey", NOT POLITICS, please keep that in mind.

All we can say is she stood there, maybe she’s unaware of the protocol? I know I’d remove my cover when a funeral passes me but then I’ve been taught to show my respects to all who deserve it and like ‘em or not I believe that respect is due to all in death. I hope it was just ignorance on her part rather than a statement. She did at least stand as he passed, could’ve been a lot worse I guess.

RR industry rules 101 " hard had must be worn at all times on RR property, NO exceptions, violation of this is cause for termination." so although you may want to remove your hat out of respect if that train happens to run over a rock or any object and it goes flying for your head or body not only will you be terminated you will have no suit against the railroad. The female employee was correct in keeping her hardhat on, Safety first. PERIOD.
