  • Ian reviews the Channel Islands M23.
    Available here: www.boardshop.co.uk/brands/ch...
    The one board for all conditions has been reborn, with the amazing Channel Islands M23, which will become THE go to 'do it all' surfboard for most surfers.
    Channel Islands Surfboard's have produced another incredible surfboard here. After the last few years being dominated by the Channel Island's Mid, the launch of the all new M23 could not be better timed. Could the M23 paired with a Mid be the best two board quiver you can get your hands on? We think so.
    A derivative of the much-loved M13, CI's M23 model is truly a performance hybrid model that really appeals to and fits a multitude of surfers in size and ability. Shaped by Britt Merrick, the M23 comes with a tidy pulled in nose outline, which runs with medium to full rails, giving the board a margin for error when riding the board. The round tail provides control and hold while giving performance with the harder, sharper rail edge in the final third of the board. You'll find the M23 holds foam central to the board, creating a fast paddling board to hoover up waves from 2ft to 6ft with effortless style.
    Testament to the shape of the M23 is how versatile this board is. Suited to waves from beach breaks, reefs, points and even wave pools. Anyone on an M23 will rival the wave count of people on out and out mid lengths while having performance to match shortboards. Channel Island's have keep the board simple with fin plug options too, this is a thruster set up and suited to this. Use the AM template fins to make a perfect pairing with board and fin.

    My 7’6” CI mid is the best board I’ve ever had. By far. Turbo charged fun. Surfs like a board so much bigger. 🎉Can’t wait to check out the M23. Thanks Britt.

      Very curious to hear from somebody who has both. How do you feel like they compare? Like, what are the differences in terms of how they surf, and what waves they're good for? Thanks!

    fantastic! another board that has heaps of paddle power, but packs in bucket loads of performance, suitable for beginners through to advanced, best for ankle high to doublehead. I will add this to the rest of my collection of boards that do the same

    Great review, thanks. Would be interested to know the differences with the former M13 model. I have owned 2 of those, a 7'6 and a 7'0, both in Tuflite, probably best boards I ever had. I still surf the 7'0 when it gets big and punchy. Greetings from France

    Thanks for the review. Have you tried the 6`6 and the 6`8? Last year in Indo I had to fight hard for the waves on my Hayden Holy grail 6´0. I`m looking for more paddle power, and still surf up to double overhead. I´m afraid the 6`8 will be a bit to bulky even though its "only" 41,8L, but not sure?

      The M23 is a super versatile board, holds well in the larger more critical stuff, but also a great daily driver type board. It all depends on your height and weight too, 6' 6 makes a good 'step-up' sized board for the larger waves.

    how would you compare it against the Firewire Sunday?

    • @BoardshopUK
      @BoardshopUK  6 місяців тому +1

      Both super fun boards to surf! The Sunday is a big cruisy twin fin, built for line speed, exaggerated turns. The M23 is a great winter weapon, perfect for those steeper days at the local and overall great performance, for more info drop us an email at info@boardshop.co.uk 🙌

    How does it go as a step up?

    • @BoardshopUK
      @BoardshopUK  28 днів тому

      It will certainly work as a step up , depending on the size of the board and waves you'll be surfing it'll be great!
