    The bootstrap paradox is a central theme of the show. If you look for it, you're going to realise that it shows up again and again and again. The book is not the only example of things that only exist in the past because they existed in the future; it's just setting it up for the crazier stuff later on.

      @@joaquinmunoz7979 The TV show completely murdered the paradoxes and all time travel theories by wildly mixing and matching. If you want to talk about twelve monkey and a bootstrap paradox, talk about the movie.

    Ulrich has been heavily medicated , probably had electroshock therapy and the situation he's been in for the last 30 years has screwed him up. He's lost it. Great casting, btw, I didn't realize that was a different actor playing old Ulrich.

    5:20 I know it’s meant as a joke, but this is something that bothers me about many Americans. They are 0% self reflecting on their own history. Only because one chapter of Germany’s history was bad, it doesn’t mean that all of Germany’s history was bad, also many people shouldn’t judge as easily especially when they don’t have any background information, why the Second World War happened in the first place. In fact Germany has an extremely rich history since the beginning of the Holy Roman Empire, Germany is the origin of many great inventions that shaped our modern world drastically (bookprint, lightbulb, telephone, periodic table, helicopter, the camera, the car, the bike, X-rays) just to name a few.
    Americans need to stop minimizing Germany (or other countries) on one part of their history, otherwise I could say „America’s history was all bad“ , because they slaved and killed millions of black people not that long ago. Every country has a dark part in history, but it’s easier to push it on one certain site to appear as super innocent. Not only talking about America at this point Britain and France also committed war crimes that they haven’t admitted until this day.

      Not all Americans are like that😂 I'm sure they meant no harm either, but your right, America definitely has no squeaky clean history.

      I can promise you that not many of us actually think that way about Germany. The reason it might come up often is that so many of us have grandfathers who fought on the opposite side in WWII, and came back talkin’ smack for the rest of their lives. 😉 Germany is gorgeous, and the traditional food is my second favorite in the world! I do wish more people would understand not to equate German citizens with Nazis, and knew how many helped by hiding people etc.

    • @Drummer4President

      Americans don’t seem to understand that the USA has had a part in nearly every war or conflict of the past 100 years. It’s all about money to their government. And wars make money as sad as it is. And all of their history classes and films and books paint them as the good guys, or the liberators, EVERY single time. It’s ridiculous.

      @@uggggggghhhhh No I will not. It’s very common for people to discriminate Germans and think nothing about it only bc they’re white and can’t help themselves anyway. I‘m fed up with these stereotypes, so you’re either German yourself or you just be quite since the topic doesn’t concern you.

    It is important to understand that an object is not in an infinite loop. The object still has to be created as some point, but the older self of that object is used as reference to create a newer version which will eventually be the older self, rinse and repeat.
    We saw that with the time machine already in the S1 finale. The Stranger left the old and broken time machine there and took the "freshly manufactured" one with him. The time machine is espacially unique because there seem to exist multiple ones at a time, even thought its all the same time machine, just at different points in its "life".

    • @damian2829
      @damian2829 4 роки тому

      So is the loop happening only once. There is only 1 character with different versions of himself at different ages? How does a loop like this start though. A casual loop? There must be a set of events that created and set in motion the loop and all its paradoxes. Adam says that every cycle a new discovery is made. The chair, then the time machine, then the higgs boson. What does Adam mean by cycles I have no clue. Are this new discoveries changes in the timeline and there is a never ending loop but when it restarts something changes like those discoveries already mentioned. I have no clue. S3 really needs to answer this questions for me.

    • @SETHthegodofchaos
      @SETHthegodofchaos 4 роки тому +1

      @@damian2829 S2 SPOILERS
      There is no loop. There are no cycles. It is just manmade concepts that people use to explain what is happening as well as project their goals on. I wouldnt even be surprised if the person who wrote the notebook deliberately wrote stuff like "cycles" in it to have a reason for Sic Mundus to be created and have them have everything happen how it always happens. Promise Adam something that he wants at the end of the last cycle. Like changing everything to have everything normal again. Or destroy everything outright once and for all.
      The show has a way to let the characters make events happen. Thats what Adam talks about at the beginning in S2E7. We are all lead by what we want or need. And that motivates us to act and put events into motion, create interconnected webs between multiple people and set bigger stories in motion. Adam seems to understand this now, however he fails to see that his way of removing emotions and motivations to be truly free in itself is a motivation that leads events forward. And I wouldnt be suprised if at the end of the last cycle, that he wont destroy time, but actually create it. Maybe create the time bridge in the caves and the incident in the nuclear power plant, thus he once again will be the cause for everything.
      Moral of the story might be that you shouldnt try to change the past or obsess about the future. Live in the Now. Thats all that matters!

    2:22: His mother was often sad and he was in an orphanage because his father wasn't dead but a violent asshole. And since domestic violence wasn't a thing to talk about in the 50's (as people would blame the victims that they might have deserved it), they ran away and said that Tronte's father was dead. So far, so obvious. And Egon's wife (Claudia's mother) leaves him not for another man but for another woman, Tronte's mother.

    i am almost 100% sure that the show will end with the entire town of winden just disappearing and leaving nothing but a huge forest...
    The whole town is a huge bootstrap paradox and if they really solve the problem with the neverending cycle then winden would simply cease to exist imo.
