I always suggest before stressing for a side hustle always review your finances and see where u can cut corners, make cut backs and swap out for sustainble/reusable items and for me this was my way to have more $ every month without stressing over a 2nd job....Hope you feel better and have a beautiful holiday 💚🐾
Yes!!! A sude hustle is bug in the personal finance world but it tough to work full time and add more to working after hours. Especially when we have kids. Im focused on planning and taking advantage of saving, while cutting out expenses as well as using rebate apps rather than starting a side hustle.
@@AccountabilityCorner ABSOLUTELY! GOOD FOR YOU GIRL!!! Starting off the new year right! Blessings to you and your beautiful family and have a safe and happy holiday 🎄
Just discovered your channel and you have honestly inspired me to get back to a more minimal lifestyle. A lot of your tips are already making a big difference for me, so thanks for sharing!
Anyone who would leave a bad comment just because someone does not give gifts is nuts. I love that you make baked goods or do something creative. Those things are from the heart and wonderful!
These are great tips. My favorite is not giving gifts. I don’t ask for anything because I am able to buy myself what I want. I would like to stop exchanging gifts with my husbands side of the family. They are really into exchanging gifts, we basically just pass gift cards to each other anyway. We don’t exchange gifts on my side of the family - except for the kids.
I have implemented a lot of things from your older videos. I am right now struggling between being a minimalist & enjoying my wedding planning as an Indian but hoping to get right back on your tips soon after all of this is over & saving for buying a house of our own. Thank you, Kyra, love how unapologetic you are.
Hope you feel better soon! Currently in bed with a sinus infection and feel miserable. Your videos are helping me plan my spending for next year :) edit: turns out I’m Covid positive as well.
My family doesn´t gift anymore for years on the holidays. Because If somebody needs something during the year, everyone helps out with that. So there is no need for an extra day to get and give gifts. And the second reason is: christmas is for spending time with your loved ones and money can´t buy a good time or good memories :)
I put all electronics on a power strip and turn it off when I leave for work in the morning. If I don't use anything on that strip it all stays off until needed.
I'm inspired every time you mention reusable items in your videos. Someday I hope to be completely zero waste. 🙏 it's definitely a big transition and commitment.
Just moved into my own studio apartment last week. I’ve been unplugging & keep the blinds open all day. I live in Salt Lake City & I’ve yet to turn on the heat because I get sunshine throughout the day. I’m excited to see my first electric bill 😀 It’s currently 70° in my place right now.
Depending on your cat & how you change your litter. I buy the same pellets for 2 cats & a bag last me almost 8-9 months. I don't throw my pellets out when I empty the dust. I shake it out & just top it off with fresh. Makes it last longer & I have no issues with smell whatsoever. I rinse bottom pan with water. Spray with vinegar & let it air dry before putting it back together or I dry it off. But I do not rinse the vinegar off or the plastic can start smelling like urine in my experience.
It is not a myth I called electric company they told me things that are plugged in sucks up electricity. That’s smart all these tips. My cat died Sun and I’m loosing my mind dealing with her burial. Pray for me I’m going thru so much pain right now.
I switched to pellets after I saw you using them, I have 5 cats. I’ve tried the crystals and they were just as bad as the conventional litter for dust and smell. The smell is so much better with wood pellets. I pay $8.99/bag where I am 2 bags have lasted me almost a full 2 months.
I too don’t have a lot of makeup. I barely wear it and only really use very little concealer, lip balm and mascara and then moisturizer/sunscreen. I don’t like spending money on makeup. I’m always blown away how people can spend the $300 a year etc to get the vip programs at Sephora! Or even that amount in one visit! I rather save that!
For the gift part for Christmas or birthdays I’ll bake a couple different cookies and make big platters for my family members. I personally love baking and feel like that’s why I can show I appreciate and feel appreciated
I echo all of these tips🔥. I’ll add one. One thing I do is (this might sound extreme) .. I sit down and I meal plan for the MONTH ahead. That way I know week-by-week what food to get & only buy EXACTLY what I need to. And if have everything on hand and ready to go, there is little to no chance I’m spending money ordering food in. It sounds boring I know but it works👌🏻. There’s less food wasted too so that’s another bonus👌🏻 Buy store brands. Use your rewards cards/coupons. Be careful when ordering your grocery home deliveries from apps.. there’s always an extra hidden charge. I did a bit of research recently and I would’ve been spending an extra €6+ (Ireland) through the shopping app and that DID NOT even include delivery/picking cost. They were the exact items I would’ve bought on store but they simply cost more online.
You say you are great with creating meals I would love if you did some videos in regards to this. You also said you are a great baker, maybe do some videos of baking? Have a wonderful Christmas
The unplugging things I definitely need to work on but I am currently in the stage of using everything in the house before I go shopping again I cannot tell you how much expired food we throw away it’s beyond shameful🤦🏻♀️‼️
I've switched to several reusable items! I bought those sponges from Amazon because of you earlier this year, and I love them so much that I got a pack for my mom for Christmas. :)
Hey Kyra! Could you possibly link the pellets from tractor supply? I was looking on their site but I’m not sure which ones you use! I have a 7 month old kitten and am interested in giving them a try!
We’ve had to go to mechanics we trust for oil changes because we’ve gone to those chain places that have cheap prices and we’ve had problems afterwards. Boy I miss those prices.
Coconut oil is my holy grail product! I use it in the kitchen as a cooking oil, I use it as a deep conditioner hair mask, as a heavy duty body / face lotion and a makeup remover 😹 so many things have multiple uses. Also period underwear have been a game changer. Spent maybe £150 getting enough to last my cycle, that was last January. Haven’t had to buy anymore since 😊
Question about the cat litter…does it have the California warning that it causes cancer and birth defects? I’ve tried Feline Pine before and returned it immediately because of its cancer warning (wasn’t disclosed on the website when I purchased it). Searching still for a less harmful litter than the typical clay. Baking soda is natural and helps with odor control. Tractor supply doesn’t disclose the warning and I’m curious if the back of the bag does. Thanks! Love your channel!
Thank you so much for this video! Throughout the years I have taken up the reusable route as well and it's so worth it. I'm not 0 waste either. I have those kitchen towels as well and so many things you showed. I LOVE your accent!!!
I stopped buying shampoo. I only buy conditioner now. Try washing your hair with conditioner like it’s shampoo! Love your channel girl, keep it coming!
giving gifts is also wasteful, people may have a lot of loved ones and end up stressed and giving useless unwanted items really. it’s only done by ppl but it’s much more fun exciting to give gifts as you find something perfect and when you can, no obligation to time.
Great tips! You should switch to a safety razor if you haven’t already... I’ve saved so much money and plastic by not buying a new razor every few weeks/months.
@@jasminejanay3016 Personally I use reusable pads so I guess it's different but basically the same concept. I don't experience odor that is any different to normal disposable pads. I'm sure the underwear has something in it that is like a pad where it just absorbs it like regular pads do. I soak my reusable pads in cold water for like 15/20 mins to get rid of any potential stains and then throw them in the wash and they come out perfectly clean, no stains or left over odor and leave them to hang-dry. I also don't experience any wet feeling other than how you would usually feel with disposable pads which I assume feels the same as the reusable underwear. I hope this helps :)
12 years ago I stopped shampooing my hair...and it slchanged my life. I also stopped needing conditioner. I hope you try it. I juat brush my hair every morning and the dust and fluff is removed.

True. Except I don't wanna cut on anything. 😅

I like how you threw in to keep negative comments to yourself!
At home we also put in practice the unplugging method. Last year we didn't give out gifts for the different holidays either.
I put all electronics on a power strip and turn it off when I leave for work in the morning. If I don't use anything on that strip it all stays off until needed.
Don't know why I never thought of a reuseable feather duster, but that's genius. Get well soon 😊
I like the 2in1 idea. I've been decluttering. I too am not buying new clothes. Great video! 🌞
I have been using your unplug idea for the last 6 months and my dad said he noticed a difference in our electric bill!
I'm inspired every time you mention reusable items in your videos. Someday I hope to be completely zero waste. 🙏 it's definitely a big transition and commitment.

Kyra can you please do a step by step video in how to use the ibotta app as I am not familiar with it would be appreciated 😃

Hi Kyra thanks to you I started using reusable cloth towels (instead of paper towels) and sponges! Your videos are so helpful.
Because of you I’ve used un paper towels and reusable sponges for a year now and I’m never going back!

Hey Kyra
I just have a quick question for you what would you do if UA-cam went bye-bye and have you thought of other side hustles
They charge you for items that are not on but plugged in? Thats crazy! Why am I only hearing of this?!
I feel her on the gift giving on the holidays. Things are so expensive just to give people gifts. 😩🙃
I can't wait to start my no buy year

In California even the air and water has a cancer warning. So I wouldn’t take their warning ⚠️ too serious.
