When I met my wifes parents, they asked me what i listened to. (they are a christian family) I stated Twisted Sister, Frank Sinatra, King Diamond, and Gwar. I was getting the slight nods of woa, I said i have been a huge fan of Ministy since my youth. I got the smile of approval, and that praise music is absolutely welcomed, and from then it was good! 😁 I realized in tjat moment we had two different versions of Ministry, and i didnt have the heart to explain Ministry ! lol 14 years married, and now long divorced, but the inlaws will always be inlaws. I will never forget that moment when i said i loved Ministry 😆😁
This song reminds me of lying in a field of flowers with soft kittens playing with a ball of yarn, butterflies flying free in the summer sun drinking a strawberry milkshake .
I remember in Mansfield, MA, 2nd Lollapalooza, the tore down the wooden fence in the back during their set and burned it! A huge bonefire right in the crowd. Haha.
Hard to believe that the man who brought us "I wanted to tell her" has made it his mission to enlighten the masses and bring awareness about the New World Order. Props to you Mr. Jourgensen!
it is R. Lee Ermey Flashlight. that's what sets Ministry apart from most bands. No other band in the history of music uses sampling like they do. they are the best at it.
@Yogimeisters The chain fences originated from The Mind is a terrible taste tour, but before that album on the land of rape and honey tour they had barbed wire fences. If you watch the documentary that the live DVD Adios... Puta Madres came with, Al talks about on the Ministry forums that the fans wanted the fences because they remember them from The Mind tour. Al stated it as a Nostalgic thing to do.
You can say what you want about ministry but two things but two things are absolutely true: 1 thieves is the perfect live song and 2 Al Jourgensen has the live presence of a muppet.
Who was doing lead vocals on this song LIVE in the 1990 vhs release - seemed like two vocalists, but not Al? Kinda new to the band so I'm trying to learn some history.
If you're thinking of the "In Case You didn't Feel Like Showing Up" recording, the backup singer on Thieves was Joe Kelly, who was also in a punk band called Lost Cause. Also, between him and Al was Ogre from Skinny Puppy. Al always did lead vocals for Ministry though, except on a very few songs like "Jesus Built my Hotrod."
jackkoffin1 on that live video from 1990, I don't see Al up there, perhaps he is on guitar. Joe Kelly is the one with the hoodie, and there is somebody next to him with a hat on, which many people have said is the singer for Skinny Puppy...
Al was in the cowboy hat, playing guitar. And you're right, he doesn't seem to be singing there, though it's clearly his vocals in the audio. So, in summary, I'm not sure what's going on in that video. It looks like live footage, but it's edited like a music video. And yeah, the other guy is definitely Ogre.
jackkoffin1 well the studio song from 1989 is credited to him and Joe Kelly vocals. I kinda wondered what the true live version from that show sounded like (the show in 1990..)
I don't know... but I think the guys like Andrew Jackson, John Adams, George Washington, etc would really dig these guys if they were alive today. Yeah I know I have alot of time on my hands lol.
After nine years you must still be very curious about this. It's time to enlighten this one for you because you have waited the answer for so long and you've been a good yogimeister. The reason of those fences is that they're protecting the people on the stage not the get hit with bottles and other kind of shit.
@joshpaulh14 wow, lets just say your new to the internet and call it even? notice the guy is this video has no head tats and is paying bass kinda like this guy /watch?v=kT8gPhXr6q0
Apparently you don't know your history, so let me help you: Ministry released "Thieves" on their album "The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste" in 1989. Limp Bizkit simply redid the song in the late 90s, performed it at Woodstock 99 (& some other concerts) & repeatedly told the audience to "Get da fuck up!"
In 2023 they are still amazing! Live!!!!
Combination of the most ass kicking music styles: Industrial & Thrash Metal. Awesome.

@thehigorjardim FUCK NO!
Not a bad cover of the original Limp Bizkit version - 3/5. :\
Apparently you don't know your history, so let me help you: Ministry released "Thieves" on their album "The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste" in 1989.
