I have bought 2 red leather car seats . They have never had any loving care (feeding ) so are a bit dry and broken up. I had some neetsfoot oil left over from another job, and have spent all day feeding (them ) the leather. Its sucked up a hell of a lot, especially in the worn/dry /cracked areas /panels/bolsters.Watching the videos, they show/talk about cleaning with a chemical, then roughing up and doing any repairs to damaged or ripped areas.

Can you use on fake leather
Hi Groomlake, That is all dirt being removed. Our cleaners do not remove the leather colour. This chair in fact was "junk" - it was found somewhere, we took it in.. gave it a new home for demonstrations.

Hi it is a chicken and egg situation, leather that has colour applied to it is sealed anyway so feeders will not sink in, The other leather Feeders work on is semi aniline and pure aniline. With the balm if the leather colour has come away fully and left a lighter colour below then the balm will work to colour repair and re seal the surface again. It will also brighten the balance of the leather. You then need to apply Leather Protection Cream
Your color is off. it looks too new in comparison with the rest of the seat. To be a good technician you need to blend it or mix the color up properly and atomize the paint so it blends properly and add a flexible clear coat to the top coat. I give this "repair" maybe 2 weeks. I repair Leather and vinyl for a living so I believe I'm qualified to say critique this not bad for an amateur repair but for commericial use this application is useless and ineffectual

is this colouring balm works well on faux leather/bonded leather (after I sand off the peeling parts and perhaps apply filler if necessary)?

A bit more cleaning and then a spray or rag application of leather paint . Am I doing the right thing by feeding the leather first, because it needs to go into the body of the leather, but they dont show this. In order to apply the colour , they chemically clean and do the work. So, if you apply the colour, surely you are in essence sealing the surface, thus preventing any oil applied afterwards, from sinking into the body of the leather ?

I have a cream 3 piece suite from DFS. it is 10 year old and is structurally very sound. The leather is showing signs of wear, particularly on the arms and around the stitching. it appears scuffed in places but only on the surface. it appears a little grubby in places where the leather is veined or textured. I am unaware whether it is aniline or not. Could you please advise me what to do with it and what products I need to purchase. I am unsure how much product i would need. Thank you

Faux leather = Textile + PVC. This liquid contains PVC so it's not just "color". It really restores the surface.

Some rubbing alcohol and black shoe polish does EXACTLY the same thing, for MUCH LESS cost and can do it yourself.
Black shoe polish, that's the best way to ruin your items. You can buy our products to it yourself as well.
I've used rubbing alcohol and shoe polish on two couches over the years, worked perfectly and NEVER left any marks on peoples skin or clothing. Just saying

Will this method work on faux leather jackets? I have two jackets that are cracked anf I would like to restore them. Also what do I need to do to keep it from cracking again?
Diana Teran hi it won't work on faux leather jackets I'm afraid, there is nothing on the market that will stop faux from cracking in the future, to repair what you now you will need a colour repair kit, but I can't say if this will not crack again.

good video but from the look of the undamaged leather and the damaged it may have needed a bit more work than just a recolor but still good video.

The glue will work on faux leather but the balm won't, you require a colouring kit to work on faux
nah its actually leather and color coming off from the cleaning you can see by looking before and after the cleaning. it got alot worse after the cleaning
your video is very informative thanks will the colour balm (brown) remove the stains left from splashes of advocate drops(dog Flea treatment) which he shock over the chair
doesnt matter what it is...if its rubbing off with soap it needs to come off or it wont bind well.....dirt is dirt

I did this but instead I used gloss black outdoor acrylic water based paint and the results were amazing. Only cost me $3

+LeatherRepairUK not saying it looks bad, just a noticeable difference to someone who does upholstery, audio fabrication, automotive machinist, suspension \frame fabrication etc. anything that has been "repaired" will never be the same again. good work but just a noticeable difference. if I did it, ID be happy with it.
Micheal Williams It's just a repair so when doing audio fabrics or re upholstery you are replacing with new, a repair is a fraction of the cost, yes it has its pros and cons with that. Still a big improvement on replacing everything and a great deal cheaper 😬😬
