I just bought Willen because of its size. Sound wise vocal is very superb, but not much clarity in bass and treble, but overall the sound quality is great for its price and compact size.
I upgraded from Bose Micro to Willen. The overall sound of Micro is better for my taste. It’s somehow cleaner & more balanced. Willen is better in loudness and battery life. I expected more bass from Willen as it’s more powerful. I don’t regret that I spend my money on Willen, I just expected a little bit more from it.
@Adineo You’re welcome. Bose sounds better at volume 60% and less but Willen is overall louder and sound gets worse after 80%. Bose limit is 70%, after it sounds like shit.
@Adineo I suggest you to choose Willen if you care about battery life and loudness (which is important outdoors). If 6+ hours at 50-60% volume is fine for you then Bose Micro is a good choice as well. But anyway, Micro is old model (more than 5 years if I’m not wrong). In long term perspective Willen is better choice in my opinion. Sound is decent, battery life is excellent. And you always can experiment with EQ in apps like Spotify and similar.
I really really wanted to like the Emberton Mainly because I love its aesthetics/form factor But I compared it to the Bose Soundlink Flex and that speaker sounds way better… So since they’re around the same price I highly suggest getting the Bose. Especially if sound is your main concern But if looks are your main thing then get the Emberton. Plus it sounds decent
I agree with you till your last statement. Marshall isn't only about the looks but it's about it's features and the genre of music you listen to. If you love listening to Blues, R&B, Jazz, Rock, Raggae, Country music, etc my piont if you like settle music then Marshall is your choice but if you like Hip Hop, Electronic Music, Funk, etc the Bose is your choice. And let's not forget the 360 soundstage or whatever they call it feature where you can hear the smae sound no matter the angle you sit. And of course battery life, if you also paratise battery then Marshall is the choice leading the Bose up triple the battery of it. And if you also want to watch videos then the Marshall takes it with it's low latency. I tried both at the store and i chose the Marshall because of what i mentioned about. I played the genre of music i love on both and loved the sound i was getting from the Marshall and i went with it. And i haven't regretted a single bit because of how good the stereo is espeacilly when watching a video and i also don't listen to it at high volume.
here the Emberton II is a clear winner, since it produces better rich bass and cyrtal clear sound. only bad thing about emberton is not having a band to carry around easily.
I own the Emberton 1, I been thinking of updating to the 2 for the app connectivity but I’m still not convinced also the price of $170. The Willen is ok but not for the $120 price tag. I bought my Emberton for $130 from UO with a $20 off so I got a good deal.
I also own the Emberton 1, the Emberton 2 have brighter sound signature which brighter than Jbl Charge 5 if you compare it in Rtings. If you prefer how smooth and comfortable Emberton 1 sounds, dont get the Emberton 2.
Hi Aaron, This is a very good video. Unlike many other video attempts by various media types, I found your sound comparison easy to follow and interpret. You presented a likeable description of the differences between the two speakers as well, and I will look for future videos. If and when you do get out of the house more often, one "baby step" you may want to consider would be to take a chance on wearing a pair of "Elvis Costello-style" glasses just as a change of pace, which would give you a fresh new look. Thanks!
I have an older Bose mini speaker that at the time was a decent enough product if a little expensive at the time. I just picked up an Emberton 2 a few days ago and immediately set about trying various tracks from my HiFi quality tracks from Tidal. I'm over the moon with the sound. My background being one of a HiFi enthusiast that has spent years buying, listening, up grading where now my system is worth in excess of £50k .... Having said this, the Marshall represents great value for money, is very well made, nicely finished and gives very good sound quality for such a compact speaker. The Marshall app is basic but works well enough and I'm sure there are comparable Bluetooth speakers out there that can offer a slightly better sound however, be under no illusion, the sound from this little speaker belies its size and price. In all its well worth a consideration.
In this size and weight category the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 is still class leader at the half of the price. 2nd Gen. is better in battery performance and sound neutrality than the predecessor but the 1st Gen. still is a good choice if you can get it on sale. Definitely better than Willen and Bose Micro.
I agree. I have one but it is hella ugly. I want to upgrade to willen for the looks. Willen now goes around 80usd, still expensive. I'm usually the function over form guy but even how much I love how it sounds, tribit's look make me use it less.
@@AMIGA79 I did. Some cons before I get to why I am happy with the willen. I personally think the micro 2 sounds better. 100% of the time I get surprised by the sound that's coming out of that speaker. Around 20% more bass. Willen rattles on the table when placed flat on a surface even at 50% volume but no problems when you put vertically (standing on the desk) or when strapped to something. BUT I am sticking with the Willen. I am impressed 80% of the time. When you get used to it, it's pretty good. Maybe 90% of the sound from the Micro2. Good Clear trebles and mids. Great for taking calls. Significantly lighter (that's why it rattles) Looks great and now I use it more. The micro was so damn ugly which made me use it very rarely so I sold it. :)
@@aaronloudnwireless When I got the Emberton I last year, I could choose from several small speaker brands and went with it because it was stronger on bass than other models (without being "stuffy"). I don't think it has lost that but don't know if it gained anything.
As the Emberton II is still in the shops, at least at Media Markt in Switzerland, this remark might be in order. The Emberton has max 87 dB and the Willen has 82 dB. As 6 dB means doubling the loudness the Emberton is almost double of that of the Willem. As a rule of thumb, two Willems would have +3dB only. My experience was that the Willem has not enough power for a backing track while you simultaneously play a piano grand. That's why I'll return it and try the Emberton II. I hope it will suffice.
There are huge differences on both speakers. Willen tend to have more spacious sound signature but lack of bass. Emberton 2 have better bass, but sound stage is narrower. I am listening with my Emberton 1 😄
