For the dress, if you want to make it quicker and more motivating to work on; you could try to alternate a few rows with a different stitch or technique. Especially towards the end I think that would be visually interesting :) For example a stitch that is more loose, therefore takes less yarn and is quicker to make. I'm excited to see the finished result!
