Andy punches that wall for the second time. We meet Ravi. Ryan dresses up to win Kelly back.
Lots of things are happening. What does a bean mean?

Nate's line about preferring Ravi over (B)Ryan without ever having met Ravi is one of my favorite Office quotes

And when Darrell accidentally gives him cashmere gloves for Christmas meant for Val…He says “How did you know?”😂

They really did Andy dirty he didn’t deserve that. Especially losing Erin like they built it up so much for them to be together and then they didn’t end up together

@@jadacampbell9331 Andy was always a comically retarded character who baby talked and sang every chance he got, held onto any vanity he has like being from that one school and also being in a band at one point
Only he also lost the kissass behaviour and gained some nuance over time

Sweet detail point. Nellie replaces the plaque to Ed Truck with her portrait, between the manager's office and the conference room. Then the portrait is replaced again with the Ed Truck plaque. Really sweet little detail, letting Ed live on.

    So three things:
    1. Andy was definitely fired. You can look at it as he chose to get fired which would grant him severance but for all intensive purposes, the company severed their relationship with him, not the other way around.
    2. Kelly and Ryan's relationship has always been "on again/off again." Meaning that they have broken up and gotten back together several times offscreen. Pam obviously decided to set up Kelly and Ravi during one of the times they broke up.
    3. I think the reason the staff don't back up Andy despite not liking Nelly in he previous episode is similar to the reason they did not back with Michael with Charles. They are jus listening to the power dynamic to preserve their own jobs.

    • @YouLousyKids

I was about to say "it's all intents and purposes" and then I realized you're doing a Michael thing. Good job!

    • @MrAwesomenesh

I get what you're saying but Andy had the chance not to say "no" again and *not* be fired.

    • @henrypeters5291
      @henrypeters5291 5 місяців тому

@@MrAwesomenesh I mean, that assumes that Andy thought saying no would get him fired. t worked for Nelly in the beginning of the episode, so he might have assumed that Robert was bluffing and that that would work.
Also, again, getting fired allows him to collect severance, which if he took, definitely would lean to him getting fired.
Lastly, the best evidence is the characters in the show. If they say he got fired, then we should believe them.

And a missed scene features Hank!! The hidden gem of The Office universe!!

Here's what I don't get: Isn't Andy the manager? Doesn't he have some Paid Time Off that he isn't using? The guy may have taken an unplanned vacation that wasn't on the calendar, but why does he have to go through the rigamarole of dodging work? He could even make the case that the "Sabre Store" debacle had made a mess of his staff and he was retrieving an employee that they had left behind in Florida, since she hadn't officially quit. Or something like that. A manager returning to his office to find someone in his desk but the big boss won't make a decision? Andy should be threatening to sue Robert if he doesn't get his office back. (Again: an actual HR emergency and Tobey is ... impotent, an appropriate word!)

I haven't watched Office episodes aside from occasional episodes in reruns, and I have a much harder time remembering episodes from the last 2 seasons than from the first 7. I had no memory of this episode.
I've been watching these videos and listening the Office Ladies podcast and I ended up getting the DVD box set so I could watch the last 2 seasons because I have a hard time remembering specific episodes from these seasons.

Surprised you didn't talk more about Andy punching the wall again aside from Daryl referencing that he already did. Kinda felt that you forgot he did before in "the return" after Michael calls him annoying and the climax of not finding his phone but still hearing his acapella version of rocking Robin ringtone

Hate this stretch still. I'd rather read a book, go outside, or talk to my ex girlfriend.
The conference room scenes is straight out of the golden age and I liked Nate's bit but still yuck. And considering how they once again ruined Andy's character, the character arch feels even less important.

So, when you stream The Office nowadays, you're forced to watch the extended versions, not what was initially broadcast?? If yes, that's ridiculous. I want to experience the original version of The Office, what was broadcast. I actually don't like these extended cuts. Sure, it's fantastic that they're out there, but they shouldn't be the default. Or, at a minimum, we should be given the opportunity to stream either version. I mean, that's what streaming was designed for, giving people different versions of something quite easily.

It would be the first instance of animosity between the two of them since they broke up. Otherwise they have been pretty cordial, especially if you remember Secretaries Day.

I always saw it as that, too, but Angela's tendency is to be nasty anyway. It's actually odd that Andy is in charge of the woman who royally screwed him over and played him for a chump and he never does anything malicious. I remember the episode where Erin finds out Andy dated Angela and it's baffling that she isn't told the whole story about how Angela was cheating on him.
