I've found your channel during your break and I have loved catching up on your videos, I'm returning to riding after an 8 year break and seeing all the vlogs you've made makes me feel like getting my first part share in a year or so is attainable even though I'm "old", so nice to see a supportive community after growing up in an area where pony club was only for kids who could afford their own ponies!
This is my absolute favourite type of comment to read - it makes me feel really proud that my channel has made you feel that returning to riding can be inclusive, can be attainable, can be reached! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for the video. Really enjoyed seeing these beautiful big horses on the beach and great to hear you having so much fun again after the tough time you had with Woody. The owners passion for her animals is so lovely to see and infectious. I used to ride my friends 17.2 hunter on the beach and it brought back memories of him as its such a long way down! Had to giggle at the speed the chestnut took off with when you swopped! Well done Rhi
I had no idea heavy breeds could be used for endurance!! So cool to see these gorgeous animals, a beach ride with CHH is definitely on my bucket list ❤
Oh wow Deeks rocking horse canter!! What an opportunity, you lucky duck!! Jealous of you, I’m glad you loved it. My boy is perch x so I am a bit partial to the drafts 😉❤️
I LOVE a rocking horse canter hehe. He was quite the gentleman. I am actively looking for an Irish Draught for my next horse - not quite as heavy but in the same world!
11:48 - I've actually had the opposite of this. At the time I was used to riding at the smallest, a 17.2hh One day I was asked to come in and just school a bit of sense into this maxi cob (Don't ask. He was just trying his best to get out of work). I went to dismount and... kind of missed the ground. My legs didn't make it underneath me in time since he was only 16.1. I can attest these big horses can get a bit of wind up their tail and move. The percheron cross I used to ride was an absolute beast.... and wasn't a slouch either for his size, but I think that was the Irish Draft and Hanovarian from the sire that gave him the edge. Never underestimate your heavy horses. I always feel safer on gentle giants in comparison to others.... Especially the Welsh cobs around here. lol, I don't hate them.... but boy the welsh ponies be spicy
How does it feel riding a horse? I've rode a horse once but it was walking and I was under supervision and never allowed to make it run 😢 I hope one day I properly ride a horse!
How lovely that you're getting to have so many adventures Rhi. I'm off to Silecroft beach on Friday to ride with Murthwaite Trekking Centre, you should check them out too if you're ever going back to the Lake District :)
I have restarted riding this year after a long gap I live in Cumbria and occasionally do go for a hack but unfortunately can't justify stretching to this place the trekking place a sometimes uses(which has great views) charge £40 an hour these guys charge £75.
I want to know what it feels like to canter these horses!! On one hand i think it would feel like a slow rocking horse but on the other i thibk it could actually feel quite fast because they have a lot of ground cover!! Rhi, i need to know!!
So windy

I've never seen these horses being riden before it's always been photos, but they are stunning!

What a wonderful place to visit, and what gorgeous horses! Must have been an exhilarating ride, so wonderful to see
It really was, just a gorgeous day all round.
What a fabulous experience you had with those beautiful horses. I feel quite envious!
I have to say, I felt incredibly lucky as we headed down on to the beach. Just the most wonderful day.

It really has been a summer of exploration and riding lots of different horses. A lovely thing to have come out of an awful experience.
(and thank you for the recommendation!)

Haha! It didn't feel fast until that last canter on Pendragon. It does feel like you are covering ground, but the rhythm feels slow.
@@RidingWithRhi ugh that sounds so dreamy!!
