Simple, simple, simple, my mantra. Like fellow followers, my brain also fighting my heart! But I will continue to practice. Also, for the record, although following you for a while, I still enjoy the repetition of “ similar “ practices. I need to hear it more than once, twice, ……Thank you Toby.
This is a great exercise to try, Toby. I have some Sharpie markers I can use and I love the effect of a mop brush. Practicing this type of simplification will go a long way to teach me not to over do.
Thanks Toby that was really useful. I've completed your online courses and my confidence in this style of art is growing. Hopefully I will get out there and start doing it Plein air soon , weather permitting!!
Thanks, Toby. This is just a practical tip that you can implement right away. Your content is much appreciated! Congratulations on crossing 100K subscribers-I'm glad the word is getting out on your channel.
I wish I wish I wish I could simplify to this extent, but my brain won’t let me! I love your videos and love what you do but my brain won’t compute 😖 I will continue to watch your videos in the hope my brain will be forced to surrender to simplicity! 😙👍🏻
I generally really like your videos, but many of them are starting to feel the same. You've covered simplifying really well perhaps you should tackle some different aspects of watercolor.
@@carolwilcox6459 Thanks Carol :) I have been away from UA-cam for a while focussing on a couple of big projects, and @rick72035 is giving useful feedback. I really appreciate hearing both sides of the debate - I won't change too much that I'm doing, but I could have been more creative recently!
I worked on that folly in 2014! One of a bunch of masons, conservators etc involved in the restoration.
Awesome! Small world!!!
Wonderful again Toby. Great reminder to simplify simplify simplify.
Loved this one! I’ve been getting too focused on details and needed this reminder to pull back. Thanks TH!
Love this, off to try it.
This is a wonderful technique for those of us that tend to over think or over work our projects. Can't wait to try this. Thank you Toby!
Have fun!

Great idea!
An excellent video Toby! No-one ever explains/demonstrates re watery/thicker/thickest paint 👏. Just need to master it now 😁
Happy to help
Brilliant tip, Toby. I am going to give this is a try. Thank you!

Appreciate the feedback ☺️
Mmmnn not sure I agree with you there. I still find all the videos enjoyable. There’s always something to take away with you.
