The reason this is viable is because of the slow pyro application of thoma. It guarantees that thoma is the one creating the reaction. Truly genius to use him like that. Back then when he just came out, everyone said it was his weakness, now he is a burgeon master.

I've been using her on a hyperbloom spread team with kokomi, kazuha, and raiden. Kokomi and raiden triggers hyperbloom and spread off field while kazuha sucks in bloom cores and it all blows up in a very satisfying way.

The burgeon team comp is really interesting. Just like Shinobu overload playstyle, people were thinking she wasn't metabecause they aren't used to rely on elemental mastery for damage, but rather on crit. The good thing is, elemental reactions CAN'T crit, which makes it potentially easier to get consistent damage without too much crit rate needed
A team i had decent succes in using would be: Childe, Collei, Kazuha, Bennett. The idea is that Kazuha swirls pyro with Bennett Ult afterwards use Collei Ult and switch to Childe elemental skill to activate Bloom, Kazuha activates through the pyro swirls burgeon and since he has high amounts of elemental mastery the damage is pretty high, it atleast worked for me
Even if IWTL has access to the media server, that shouldn't take away from the fact that he takes his time testing the new charscters, understanding their kits and comming up with teams that can clear all both overworld and abyss with 4* characters and weapons.
the reason why her arrow drops (the first two shots of normal atk), i believe is a character setting due to her illness, which causes her hand/finger to loose strength, thats why the third and forth shot, she throws boomerang in stead
Im having lots of fun playing Dendro Aether with Xingqiu + Bennet !! I like Aether's elemental burst. Can't wait to get Collei but I'm taking my time with Sumero Archon Quest so haven't done the Collei event.
in the same team you can switch out thoma with kuki shinobou, you will get huge amountsof the other reaction i don't remeber it's name childe (or hydro carry)+ collei + dendro mc + kuki (full EM build) was giving me many 22k tics

@@red_dll dendro mc and collei are simpley your average sub dps, ER, Elemental dmg bonus , crits, i gave them the new dendro set for collei, and the em set for mc, so i can stack buffs for team. kuki is full EM tenacity of melilith (gives around 3k healing ber tic) and iron sting and childe is the usual heart of depth childe right now i can do more than 30k for now, i still need to farm the new weapons and trythem out but i can do one rotation azahda easly, and with full ER build i have no problems getting bursts on cooldown
I've been using Collei for Hyperbloom and Spread with Raiden, Xingqiu, and Kazuha. It's very fun. I love Thoma's personality and I'm super happy to hear he's much more viable now with Burgeon. I'm definitely gonna try this EM build on him. Thanks for the vid!
Xinyan's E triggers reactions with every tick of its shield, if I'm not mistaken, so she would actually be better on an Overload team with the role of Pyro applier: equip her with high refinement Sacrificial Greatsword and solely invest on Def and ER and voilà. Dendro reactions so far seem to be either for buffing Electro (Superconduct 2.0, but for Electro and Dendro dmg), triggering a meaningless dot for a couple of seconds (Burning is just... pointless, unless there is a way to multiply its dmg fivefold) or playing with a seed that goes boom an eternity later if no more reactions occur; as for Bloom, it is Overload 2.0 as its final dmg depends on the EM of the character that applied the first between Hydro and Dendro, but Burgeon is actually an interesting reaction, as it can only be triggered by Pyro... if it were not for the absurd limitation of only two Burgeon explosions within a short time (probably we're not going to trigger more than two anyways, in order to optimize team rotation, but such numerical limitations are way to crafty, such as Shenhe's 5-7 instances of buffed dmg per character).
@@DahRahzor I tried Xinyan with sac R5 REALLY good substats the way you described and she still is underwhelming though for overworld exploration and most of the challenges there she is fine. Though I won‘t ever take her into abyss. Edit: Using some of your worse characters can actually be quite fun for overworld since you actually get to fight for once and not 2 hit everything so I do kind of recommend Xinyan. I also made quite a weird but fun teamcomp. Xinyan, Rosaria, Anemo grouper, Mona with Prototype Amber and they all have stupid high Er and the plan is to basically spam bust constantly. Of course there is barely any synergy here but for me it strikes a good balance between fun and ease of play.

Collei in a hyperbloom team is pretty good, pair her with an electro sub DPS like Raiden, Yae, and/or Fischl then a hydro applicator like Kokomi, Mona, Xingqiu and/or Yelan and those hyper blooms add more dmg, then an Anemo character that can gather enemies like Kazuha, Venti, Sucrose or Traveler. Also it looks chaotic
But it'd be better if you just put a stat stick as his weapon since Sac Sword's base attack is low. And his atk buff comes from base atk and nothing else
@@Rex_Nichts but he's not testing Bennett or using the buff at all, he's literally just breaking the orb so the flower doesn't attack. He could do it with Amber charge shots, this isn't about Bennett it's just a convenient way to break the shield. The strength of Bennett's buff is irrelevant if he's not casting it.

Anemo is honestly one of the core elements of hypercarrry so I don't think that team in particular will change but rather other team varients that are not specifically hypercarry will start coming out. One team that i can think of is Yae Raiden with dendro + anemo. Yae on Gilded Dreams could allow her have a lot of damage due to her em and attack scaling.

@@jose11luis29 They have different uses. Dendro traveler's ult ends when contacting pyro, causing an explosion, so no continued dendro application. This would be a problem for burgeon comps. You can apply pyro to Collei's burst without losing the consistent dendro application. In a mono electro team though, traveler will be better!
I honestly like using Sac bow the most on her. Being able to constantly apply Dendro with no ICD and if you time it all right you can have a crazy amount of up time on her E skill.

Basically she’s good as support for tighnari similar to how kazhua debufs with VV so use the Dendro 4 piece set on her use skill then burst then use tighnari skill and burst
Aggravate teams need anemo for resistance shred (and em buff if you have Sucrose or Kazuha). Fridge teams use cryo to keep the hydro aura longer, and get more blooms. Geo is used to having no reactions, that’s why characters like Yunjin, Zhongli, Albedo, and Noelle were made so flexible.

Literally how I planned to roll the thoma, just have kitain instead of dragons bane, its fun. No one believed me, he does pretty well in a driver overload comp too pre dendro
I used her in my very strange friendship farming team: Mona, Collei, Kazuha, Kuki; and it turned out great, despite her being at Lv20 with tanlents Lv1. Considering that others aren't properly leveled and geared either, and that I generraly don't use bursts at all in normal rotations, I was genuinely surprised by the damage. The rotation is Kuki E -> Kazuha E -> Collei E -> Mona E, N, N... It seems that quickend enemies are still considered as under the dendro, so you can create dendro core from them. Next Mona activates sprout and generates 3 cores per enemy. After that you have some time to switch to Kuki and heal her up. Kazuha is here just for grouping and knocking enemies. Overall very suboptimal but fun team.
That's pretty cool. Glad to hear this team can be decent. I was a bit sad that Thoma was kinda underwhelming as a shielder, so I'll definitely try to build him EM for a Collei team.
I've been using Dendro traveler,Kokomi,Yelan and Lisa.That team literally shreds with hyper bloom and the new hydro resonance helps a lot for Yelan and Kokomi.(if you're wondering Kokomi is used as dps in this build)
Hope I have more fun tonight and I was just in a mood last night because I couldn't he bothered to even learn any of the new area puzzles. Went straight to boss through portal and got my 5 star to 50 and logged off. Been feeling that way on genshin and tof lately. Hope it passes!
Great video; one small note: you state at 8:50 that Thoma's free to spam his autos because he's a polearm user, but polearms also become Pyro under Bennet's c6 (all melee weapons do).
I have a 1-1-1 c2 level 50 Collei and no dendro artifacts yet: 2pc glad, 2 pc noblesse. 1552 atk, 71 em, 46% crit rate, 172% crit dmg. I'm using Aqua Simulacra though. But despite this awful build she is just so much fun to play! My team is 4-4-4 c0 lvl 70 Lisa, Collei, 1-1-1 lvl 90 dendro traveler for no reason (a replacement with Yanfei would be better, but dendro traveler is fun) and 10-10-10 lvl 90 Kokomi. And this team is simply so much fun! In general this team is Collei-Kokomi core and the rest whatever I want. I always use Kokomi for the hydro reaction with dendro and then my "dps" Lisa (I'm actually building her right now) for triggering the homing projectile effect. The surprising thing is that this team works completely fine at world level 8!
I'm enjoying traveler right now. The multipliers are a lot higher than the other 2 dendro characters right now. Something like 230% for skill, 80% per tic of burst and 400% if you dare use pyro to blow it up all at lv 1. I haven't looked up how high it goes but traveler gets the guaranteed constellations so they can be lv 13 at max for everyone.

You could probably try his Burgeon team but with Xinyan instead of Thoma!
The problem with xinyan is her shield is weak. If that thing breaks then you lose all of your pyro application.

Pro tip: Bennet's c4 can break the Cryo Regisvine's orb in two hits with the Sacrificial Sword, thus speeding up testing by quite a bit

I think theorycrafters have said that the traveller is better even both c6 in every scenario

@@jose11luis29 They have different uses. Dendro traveler's ult ends when contacting pyro, causing an explosion, so no continued dendro application. This would be a problem for burgeon comps. You can apply pyro to Collei's burst without losing the consistent dendro application. In a mono electro team though, traveler will be better!

I honestly like using Sac bow the most on her. Being able to constantly apply Dendro with no ICD and if you time it all right you can have a crazy amount of up time on her E skill.

Basically she’s good as support for tighnari similar to how kazhua debufs with VV so use the Dendro 4 piece set on her use skill then burst then use tighnari skill and burst

Collei is really fun but my issue is that not having cryo, anemo, or geo reactions really limited the amount of teams dendro can be used in
Aggravate teams need anemo for resistance shred (and em buff if you have Sucrose or Kazuha). Fridge teams use cryo to keep the hydro aura longer, and get more blooms. Geo is used to having no reactions, that’s why characters like Yunjin, Zhongli, Albedo, and Noelle were made so flexible.

Been advocating em thoma since his release. If you go mixed em/DMG, you can have good overload DMG and good melt/nape DMG as well

Literally how I planned to roll the thoma, just have kitain instead of dragons bane, its fun. No one believed me, he does pretty well in a driver overload comp too pre dendro
I used her in my very strange friendship farming team: Mona, Collei, Kazuha, Kuki; and it turned out great, despite her being at Lv20 with tanlents Lv1. Considering that others aren't properly leveled and geared either, and that I generraly don't use bursts at all in normal rotations, I was genuinely surprised by the damage. The rotation is Kuki E -> Kazuha E -> Collei E -> Mona E, N, N... It seems that quickend enemies are still considered as under the dendro, so you can create dendro core from them. Next Mona activates sprout and generates 3 cores per enemy. After that you have some time to switch to Kuki and heal her up. Kazuha is here just for grouping and knocking enemies. Overall very suboptimal but fun team.
Collei is great but MCs Dendro application is fantastic I'm and it can last up to 15seconds with constellation

I was a bit sad that Thoma was kinda underwhelming as a shielder, so I'll definitely try to build him EM for a Collei team.
I've been using Dendro traveler,Kokomi,Yelan and Lisa.That team literally shreds with hyper bloom and the new hydro resonance helps a lot for Yelan and Kokomi.(if you're wondering Kokomi is used as dps in this build)

Great video; one small note: you state at 8:50 that Thoma's free to spam his autos because he's a polearm user, but polearms also become Pyro under Bennet's c6 (all melee weapons do).
his thoma is pure em build so it is intended for thoma to spam auto.

I have a 1-1-1 c2 level 50 Collei and no dendro artifacts yet: 2pc glad, 2 pc noblesse. 1552 atk, 71 em, 46% crit rate, 172% crit dmg.
I'm using Aqua Simulacra though.
But despite this awful build she is just so much fun to play!
My team is 4-4-4 c0 lvl 70 Lisa, Collei, 1-1-1 lvl 90 dendro traveler for no reason (a replacement with Yanfei would be better, but dendro traveler is fun) and 10-10-10 lvl 90 Kokomi.
And this team is simply so much fun! In general this team is Collei-Kokomi core and the rest whatever I want.
I always use Kokomi for the hydro reaction with dendro and then my "dps" Lisa (I'm actually building her right now) for triggering the homing projectile effect.
The surprising thing is that this team works completely fine at world level 8!

I'm enjoying traveler right now. The multipliers are a lot higher than the other 2 dendro characters right now. Something like 230% for skill, 80% per tic of burst and 400% if you dare use pyro to blow it up all at lv 1. I haven't looked up how high it goes but traveler gets the guaranteed constellations so they can be lv 13 at max for everyone.
I haven't played the game yet since the update, so hearing "burgeon" was a welcome surprise lmao
