After my divorce, every Friday I'd take a hot bath with bubbles. I'd light a candle, turn off big light, put on calming music and have a glass of wine. I loved Friday nights. PS: Keep talking about what you are feeling. It'll help you and possibly others.

People sometimes talk about the grieving process like it's a straight line, but it really isn't. It comes in waves. You may wake up perfectly fine then something familiar will hit different...and you'll feel like you're back in the thick of it again. I think the best way to handle those times is to acknowledge them, allow yourself to feel what you need to feel in that moment, learn what you can from it, and let it go. There's no schedule on grief. Eventually, those little moments won't happen as often or sting as much. Believe that.

You are my new favorite comfort youtuber 😘. About the eating alone- I did that a couple times when I was single, and I started out with something not as intimidating like Panera. Then I worked up to a more casual sports grill type place, then I went to what people would consider a “fancier” restaurant. The waiter was so impressed with me when I told him I was there by myself, and he treated me like a queen the whole night. It was lovely! I hope you do that and vlog it!

Going out to eat, seeing a movie, visiting a museum or driving to a different town on my own is fabulous. I'm retired but my hubby isn't. Even before getting married I did a lot of things on my own. When I was in my early twenties I decided to visit all the capital cities here in Australia. I've been to all of them except Darwin. Far too hot for me up there! Having seen them on my own meant the time was mine. See what you like. Do what you like. History is facinating to me so being able to enjoy old gaols and convict sites was brilliant. Bored relatives or friends weren't an issue. And as you've found, when your alone other people are more comfortable talking with you because they aren't 'interrupting'. I've had facinating, funny and insightful conversations with people I've never met before. I think you are doing extremely well!

Don't worry about over sharing, we are all human and experiences the same emotions at some time in our lives! It is not only therapeutic for you to share but it is also therapeutic for us to help us process our own emotions and not feel alone!!! You have no idea how much your honesty during this time is helping so many of us get thru difficult times in our own lives. You are beautiful, you are smart, you are independent and most importantly you are kind and loving. This door closing has opened up so many other doors for you.... explore them, enjoy them. Use this opportunity to discover more about yourself, be happy and do all the things you have always wanted to do but could not as your ex was holding you back from so many amazing opportunities in life. Sorry that was so long winded, but I was in your EXACT situation and I have now found the love of my life, started a family and am extremely happy. You can do it too! Relax, don't be so hard on yourself, let go of all the worries about your video content and just be open and honest. Anyone who has a problem with that can X out if the video and leave their opinions to themselves!!!!

My dog is also allergic to chicken and always throws up. I feel badly because he loves it so much. In Chinese Medicine they believe feeding you dog neutral or cooling meats is best. If your dog has allergies, itchy skin, rashes, hot ears, pants a lot or sits in the shade, it could be a sign they are a more hot/warm dog and they may do better on cooling or neutral meats like Beef, Turkey or Pork so that’s what I do and it works with my little pupper :)

I use to feel awkward when I did things by myself. I have to say, I love it now. I go to movies alone, shopping, out to eat, I have even gone to dance classes alone, hoping to find a partner, which I did. Being along I think is a good thing, it means you enjoy being with you. I am also at an age where I really do not care what people think of me. So there is that. This time in my life has seriously been the best time of my life. I am almost 50, my daughter is grown, married and I have a grandson who is 6. I am single and have been for 9 years. I love that you push yourself to be uncomfortable, it is a true sign of growth. Good job Michel!! Keep stepping out of your comfort zone, you will be amazed how great life really is.

I've eaten alone at nice restaurants more times than I can count (including Valentine's Day). Personally I LOVE it! It's great people watching, I tend to get better service, and I enjoy the food more because I'm focusing on it rather than conversation. I'm sorry you overheard an (unintentially) upsetting comment but trust me, 99% of people at the restaurant won't care or notice that you're alone. It's a really empowering feeling experience IMO so I hope you go through with it!

I didnt have a divorce or breakup, but I moved out of the town I lived in for 22 years. I go to visit my parents and see businesses that have been painted differently, or one of my favorite restaurants that closed makes me SO sad, especially since I didn't know RIGHT away. This year I went to the street fair that I always went to until I was like 16 (always worked weekends) and it was so exciting but also a little sad. I ran into some good friends from high school and one kept saying "you're welcome to come over any time" and it broke my heart that I wasn't 5 minutes away and I didn't have the heart to tell her I probably couldn't.

I'm 38 and I eat by myself at cafe's and restaurants all the time. I've never had a partner though (I'm neurodiverse and just haven't found dating a priority/or the right person) so it could be different for me. And I just love eating out, if I want to ain't noone gonna stop me. I do get looked at, but I'm learning more and more over time to be unapologetic for other people's judgement, because sometimes my autistic ticks can be noticeable, and I can't change that, just like right here and now you can't change being single. Live your life and push that inner strength to the outside. You can do anything you set your mind to, especially in this time when you're free to make more choices on your own. *big heart hands*

Lovely Michel ~ Your dad is so cute and helpful with the song recommendations. You may do this already but as a single woman and just in general regardless, I put together different playlists for different things like, "Getting ready/makeup/looking cute", Dancing in my Apt for fun", "Cleaning my Apt", and "Confidence/I'm Beautiful" playlists. Music heals, is always there for your heart. LOVE when you go thrifting, the sweater set is perfection. Sadness is a necessary part of healing so thank you for talking about it. The best nights being single is ordering in, organizing and doing my laundry because it centers me for the rest of my week and I'm a dork too. :-) I like eating in restaurants being my own company, you don't have to keep up a conversation and you can order what you want. Since you're new to it, I suggest lunch sitting at the end of the bar or at a 2 top i the lounge area. In Seattle where I live, it's common to see single dining but the key for you is to find restaurants you are comfortable with re a great menu, staff and layout. I have fav places I love to go to! Cannot wait to see your dining table. Keep up the healing and transformation Michel, you are making progress!

You are still going through the grieving process. The 7 stages of grief
Shock and denial. This is a state of disbelief and numbed feelings.
    Pain and guilt. ...
    Anger and bargaining. ...
    Depression. ...
    The upward turn. ...
    Reconstruction and working through. ...
    Acceptance and hope.
Until you go through each of these, they will creep up! You cant skip any because they need to happen. OXOX

Hi Michel 😊. It's so nice to see you out & about instead of staying inside all by yourself. Keep exploring the areas around & I hope with each outing you find tons of joy filled moments 😁. Love the new sign that you've designed. Can't wait to see it in your home! Prayers & Wishes Lisa Hampton 😃

One of the alternatives to getting for a table for one (especially if I'm doing errands or am on a lunch break for work) will be just to sit at the bar. I know that you avoid alcohol, but, to me, bar seating is much more flexible, and people are less judgy about if you're there alone. Just a tip! :)

Sadness is normal as long as it doesn't stick around for long. The older you get you experience sadness more because you've lived through more of life. I'm 66. Now I realize that I have much to be grateful for. Things could of been alot worse, compared to what others go through. Now I can help others that are going through perhaps what I have gone through. I've fallen in pretty deep holes. But my faith has helped me climb back out, many times.

Our dog ) a pure breed border collie) was allergic to chicken. He presented with ear infections as a puppy. We changed him to a salmon and potato based dry dog food and he lived to be 14 years old we lost him 1 year ago. Our bet told us it's pretty common. Totally switching topics...I love your vlogs and just hanging out with you. I love how you always end your videos and I wanted to wish you the best rest of your day and I will be trying very hard to wait for your next vlog! I see an incredible change in you already, even with the hard days. You have been so strong and brave and so glad that you are surrounded with love and supoort. 🥰

I'm married, but my husband is gone for work travel often. I take myself out to dinner, table for 1 at least once a week while he's gone. I would not be embarrassed to do it at all! It's so nice to have a break from not doing dishes and to just treat yourself 😁 also you don't have to compromise on where to go for dinner bc it's just you!
