do i need a 3/8 to 5/8 adapter to attach it to a boom arm?

If I recall correctly they provide the screws but if not then yeah you'll need an adapter.

I bought it and kinda disappointed you have to crank the input volume all the way up on the hardware and in the control panel including any software you subsequently use it on, and its super duper quiet so you have to have it right next to your face facing forward always or it wont catch it; otherwise it sounds good if you can do that. Also It can hardly pick up my voice but others peoples voices from any angle suuper far away and I mean far like 2 rooms away across the house will transmit and receive bright as day, I dont get it.

I have had it just a few days, but your experience is not the same as mine. I have a Blue Yeti and this is comparable. I do have to turn it all the way up, but that ensures that it is good sounding. I think it's capturing my voice well and sounds much better than default mics in Zoom meetings.
