Starbucks Oleato Recipe
1/3rd cup / 80ml Nut milk (Starbucks uses oatmilk)
1Tb Extra Virgin Olive Oil (Starbucks uses Partanna®)
2 shots Espresso (Starbucks uses Blonde roast)
Foam the warmed milk and olive oil together and pour over the coffee

Not sure how high the damage was, but I think it is from 🦌 or elk. They rub their antlers against trees to get rid off the skin.
Reasonable guess. We don't have elk but we do have moose. In this case it was woodpeckers. Thanks for commenting

Great video as always Mark! I am Norwegian and I can't pronounce that word LOL. I have also seen people make them out of wood and they work really well. Olive oil is very healthy for us all. I have heard people putting that and also coconut oil in coffee to make it smoother. I really need to get me a micha pot. I love coffee in the woods and my favorite is "bush coffee" in my canteen cup right on a fire. Have a wonderful day!🙂

As always, thumbs up. I can imagine that this brew would be quite tasty. I was personally glad that you did not use Starbucks coffee. That stuff is horrid in my opinion. lol However there seems to plenty of folks who believe very differently on that subject. Years ago my wife and I were in the Seattle airport while traveling through. We both badly needed some coffee and so were enticed by a brand known as "Seattle's best". Even though neither one of us waste food and will eat stuff we do not like in order to keep from wasting it, If memory serves me correctly, I don't think we were able to finish that coffee, it was soooo bad. That coffee stands out in my mind as probably the worst coffee I may have ever had. Starbucks coffee reminds me of that coffee that we relabeled "Seattles worst" coffee. Connie and I were in the Anchorage Alaska airport yesterday on a return trip from having been down South for a month. Having jet lag and a bad need of coffee for both of us, I passed by the Starbucks booth and on to one that served Kaladi Brothers coffee, a local roaster. They were two very good cups of coffee that really hit the spot.
LOL.. Seattle's worst. Love it Lonnie. I think, at least around here, Starbucks was the first place serving "good" coffee, or at least the first place people took notice of in a big way. There have always been small craft roasters and coffee shops that made better coffee but they were not a big chains. Let me know if you try this recipe out. Thanks for commenting
Mark, the tree damage looks like a leftover deer or moose rub from the fall to me. That would be my first guess based on similar damage done by deer in the midwestern part of the US. May second guess would be a bear rub or clawing at the tree. Really enjoyed your video and and thank you for sharing.
Both are good guesses but the damage extends quite high up. Higher than a bear could reasonably reach. Thanks for commenting
Depends on how high the damage is . Looks to much damage for moose or deer . Do you get wood pecker around there . I'm in Australia so not great with your wildlife . If you were here in Australia I'd say cockatoo.

Very interesting coffee make, enjoyed the process. I think coconut oil would also be good. The shredded bark on the tree looks like bear marking because it appeared quite high, as if the bear was on it's hind legs. The camera can be deceiving on height so if it was actually lower I will say deer antler scraping. If there are mainland moose in that area I may have guessed those as well if high. Right on Mark, nice looking cup of coffee. When I see that kind of damage to a tree I always think it is Woodpeckers that do it, although I haven't caught one in the act so I'm not certain. Thanks for sharing.

In my country - Poland, in the city of Gniezno, we have a museum of the beginnings of the Polish state. This museum presents, among others: firlejki (scand. tvare) from the early Middle Ages. This tool has several dozen proper names in Poland: firlejka, mątewka, rogólka, rogal, kutewka, mątwica, koziołek and a few others :)) Regards

Mark, do you know the old trick of putting a big pad of butter in your coffee before bed? It's supposed to keep you warmer at night due to the slow burning lipids. This kinda reminds me of it. Ever tried it? Future episode?
I have not heard that one. I have a video on Bullet Proof Coffee that uses butter and I agree eating fat or protein at night will help keep you warm but I wonder about consuming it with caffeine will cancel out the benefit. Thanks for commenting

What a wonderful spring day! We’ve had a couple nice days, then it snowed like crazy, and now we’re back to never ending cloud and rain.
You mentioned Costco. I’m a late hold out, and have just started enjoying the store. However, I’m guessing you’ve noticed that they don’t seem to have a clue about keto. There may be no starches, but there almost always seems to always be a ton of sugar.
Hi Jim, There is a lot of not-good stuff to eat at Costco for sure but, if you look around you can find a few Keto items. I get my monk fruit there as well as olive oil, keto granola and a few keto snacks. Thanks for commenting
@@MarkYoungBushcraft Yeah yeah, don’t get me wrong. There’s tons of good food there for keto. Like I could never afford almond flour, if I had to go somewhere else, for example. But it’s those "keto" snacks that I’m talking about. They have a couple good ones, but most of them are very sweet.

The tree was damaged because you had an itch in the middle of your back that you couldn’t get to. 🤪 The scenery looks great. Starbucks sells olive oil in the stores here In California. A manager at the local place I go to gave me some for free. To be honest, I just get basic coffee, so I had no idea they added olive oil in some of their recipes. Wait, was there a small fan at the bottom of the stove? It looked like it was hooked up to a power bank. ✌️🇺🇸🇨🇦✌️

I certainly can understand the olive oil taking away some of the bitterness And the var whisk, ( t is silent) is of a soft 1/4" feather stick? Fun coffee visit.

Perhaps timing could be improved by tweaking the sequence -- pre-heat the moka pot, heat and froth the milk, then finish the moka pot.
Yes, I normally make coffee in the Moka pot starting with hot water to shorten the brew time and make a less bitter taste. I did not do it this time but may in the future. Thanks for commenting

Mark … I both love you and your channel; I truly do. It pains me that you mentioned Star••••s coffee shop. They lost my business forever when they refused to mail paid for product to the Middle East during Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Enduring Freedom. Not only did they do it, they were proud they did it and bragged about it. The men and women who were over there (and several were/are my friends) were over there because our Commander in Chief ORDERED them to go. Whether or not you agree with the conflicts or not, that was a lousy and unconscionable way to treat our men and women in uniform!!! Star••••s actually bragged about it!!! Please know I will forever love your channel love the man behind the channel, but because a couple of my friends left blood over there, I felt like I had to say something. Sir respectfully I think you’ve been misinformed of the situation you are referencing; I would know, I was in retail management in the U.S. for Starbucks, at least during the more recent military operations under GW Bush; I wasn’t old enough during the initial conflict in Desert Storm. The stores in my area had collection bins for people to purchase coffee and then have local people ship coffee to people stationed overseas. As a company, Starbucks did not want to handle customers product, which it was once they purchased it whether they took possession or not, and then potentially have it not go to where it was intended to. Starbucks as a company isn’t a shipping company and the logistics of trying to get coffee there from customers in good condition was too difficult a challenge. But again to that point, we let customers buy coffee and give it to local groups to ship to the military…At that point it was out of our hands and between the customer and the people in the local organizations.
Granted, I can’t speak to what was being done on the other side of the country but that is what we were doing in our region (about 120 corporate stores) for at least a time. So take it or leave it but I think you may be broadly vilifying a company over a very nuanced situation without actual direct first hand knowledge.

@@MarkYoungBushcraft Visp yes . sound about the same on Norwegian and English , we say in "bushen" when out in the dense forest or bush for an all-round word when out camping and hiking the forest . Kaffeost is not the same as Brown cheese . kaffe ost is white and very different taste.. kaffeost you can make at home look "oppskrift-pa-kaffeost"
