    Just got one as a gift. the more I learn about this guitar them more I like it. I like stripped down hardtail guitars. Chambered, and hard tailed make the pitch, sustain, and resonance so awesome. The vintage style single coils deliver on tone.

    This is just the sort of guitar I like, it sounded better than I expected, like a Strat on steroids, would love to try it, your playing demoed the guitar really well.

    Why did you play it through a Blackstar amp of all things? The clean tone sounded great though

    Fender would be doing newer players a favor if they offered a version of each of their guitars without a toggle switch in the strum path.
    Eliminating the toggle switch and/or slide switches completely is a welcome sight!

      Well Ben didn’t really start playing these consistently until about 5 years ago.....and they’ve been putting out music like crazy the last couple of years

      @@zachummertube ok, but there is a reason I didn't know they've put out new music even though I'm a fan. My point was simply that their best days are behind them. The last album I have is Kintsugi and I only like a few songs from it.
      Nonetheless, thank you for the info. Maybe I'll give the new stuff a listen.

    Tinny brittle no character. Better with clean but the drive sounds horrendously brittle.

    • @lassesuurmunne8340
      @lassesuurmunne8340 3 роки тому +6

      Brittle is what some people love though. Vox amps are all about that brittle sparkle. In this video it’s more the amp than guitar. I have 7 Mustangs. If I plug a Mustang into my Marshall or Orange, it’s big and thick. Then my brownface Fender amp, it’s more chewy, glassy, Mustangs sound a little like that tele neck lipstick pickup. They have that nice chewy sticky sound. That for me is to die for when playing blues and jazzy stuff and Americana type sounds. Very punchy too. You can really do that Link Wray thing. Sometimes they need a boost, but totally depends on the amp being used. But that’s due to low output pickups. But low output gives you a more dynamic tone. Mustangs sound very rich actually clean. But we all chase a different sound in our heads. Mustangs aren’t for everyone. Norah Jones gets an incredible tone from her 1964 Mustang with a Vox amp, but you might not dig that at all. But if someone does, like I do. Only Mustangs get that specific type of sound. I also want a telecaster badly because I just love the telecaster sound as well. I love Strats but I seem to only really love the neck position. I don’t dig any of the other positions and I’ve tried. Owned many Strats. Where as I love all the positions on a Mustang and all the positions on a telecaster. Just preference

      @@lassesuurmunne8340 Thanks for the list of mustang users to check out! I always love seeing how people use the same equipment

      @@micahchambers5096 Norah Jones is my favorite Mustang player just because of her voice on a Mustang is so unique. Even when she’s mostly playing open chords, the way she plays is still so her own. She plays through a Vox amp. Also if you haven’t already you might dig Eric Haugen on UA-cam. His main guitar is a 1966 Mustang and he also gets incredible tones. Incredibly versatile player and incredibly versatile tones. Michael Lemmo now famous for doing demos on Norman’s Rare guitars. Although his favorite guitar is the jazzmaster. There are some very nice demos he does with Mustangs. He did at least four demos with vintage Mustangs. And he really loves them and sounds amazing on Mustangs. They somehow just suit him. All the offset Fenders seem to suit his style the best. Then there’s the famous Japanese guitar virtuoso Char who plays a Mustang often. Check his song Smoky, he plays his 1966 Mustang on that. Plays incredible stuff, incredible solos on that Mustang. For me it’s such a pleasure to hear Mustangs being played like that. They are my favorite guitars in the world and at this point I think they always will be 🙏.
