Great video Joe. Great trivia competition. All 4 of you were great and Tom Frangione has as much fun as the competitors. Fest trivia is worth the price of admission alone!
Unbelievable how kids this young, like Benjamin, still can get into the Beatles. 50 years later. They were the best thing to happen to music before and since.
George Alexander - That's nothing. You should have seen one round where two very much younger kids tried to compete up there. They were so small you couldn't see them behind the podium, you just heard them! LOL. Yet both of them got a couple of answers correct while playing "Name That Tune".. one of them even knew that a few notes played were from the relatively obscure "Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me and My Monkey"..!
If you hit the buzzer before the question is finished you should have to give the answer before the question is finished I don't understand these rules
MeanMr Mayo I am actually subscribed to him. He's been commenting on some of my videos including the Princeton Videos. I'll have to watch and comment on his videos.Someday you and me will play the Beatles trivia.
VinylCollectorJames - It was a great time, James! The pressure was very intense in the last round, yes! It sometimes made me draw a mental blank. I think everyone was kinda feeling it.
escaperabbit - That was a tough question about Stephen Foster, but it was a good one. I had no idea he wrote "Beautiful Dreamer". Glad you were on the edge of your seat, because w sure as hell were on that stage!
thanks just like being there , thanks for posting , it was like Beatles Jeopardy , wow the tension got thick , it was fun watching , congrads to Benjamin , service tea normally , take care & rock on
This was funny Joe. I was trying to scream the 3 songs (From Me to You, There's a Place, Misery) at you through my T.V. All in good fun. LOL. Take care. Peace!
Bungalow Craig's Vinyl ...that was truly the most frustrating and humiliating moment of the contest! I KNOW that answer like the back of my hand!! Those songs are as familiar as the back of my hand!...But what happens is you get nervous and cannot even recall your own name! LOL :) For some reason all I could visualize were Vee Jay 45rpm singles...I drew a complete blank and never even considered LPs like INTRODUCING THE BEATLES!
Loved this. It was so funny watching you buzz before the guy had even finished asking some of the questions. I bet the other 3 contestants in round 1 were quaking in their boots. Joe, I'm just about send you a pm with an interesting titbit, so check in a little while, cheers.
James Griffiths - I was quaking too. These other three guys were the top winners in the three other regular rounds! It was really an intense situation up there.
SilverShorts52 - I'm guessing he was thinking of the usual Capitol orange/yellow swirl label? The Kansas City one is the green "Starline" series. And is the Kansas City record the US or Canada?
He didn't mention anything about the Capitol orange/yellow swirl label only. Yes, the Kansas City/Boys 45 was released in the US on Capitol records in Oct.1965. I bought it at Grinnell Brothers Music House the day it came out. It was pull from the selves 2 months later at Brian Epstein's request. The Beatles wanted only their own compositions released on 45's by that time.
sure is. I added a photo of me to my channels wallpaper, so you can put a face to my name. Which guest were you most thrilled to get an autograph and photo from?
Tim Allen - I'll give Benjamin all the credit in the world - he won fair and square. However, technically I DID know the answer to the SOMETHING NEW album question which the host changed on me when I buzzed in too early. Also, I did also know the final answer "She's A Woman" in the HELP! movie, but again the buzz-in thing was not right. But all congratulations to Benjamin.
Wow awesome Joe. was there Saturday Night. I was the Winner on name that tune. Do you have a video of the name that tune before your final.... Richie from the Rock
RICHARD PARESE - Oh sure, I remember you - you wore a Beatles cap, right? I was hoping I wouldn't have to square off against you with your knowledge! But my girlfriend only recorded the rounds that I was in (for this channel)., and none for Name That Tune. Sorry...
MrJbuzz - You mean for admission? Kind of, yes.. but I had a great time and in the end it was worth it. But really, we have an entire year to save up. Benjamin won a great book of photos by Nancy Andrews, who was RIngo's former girlfriend in the 1970s. I really would have liked to win that book myself, but then later I found it very reasonably priced in the dealers' room so I got it there.
Yes, that is a good point, it is only a once of year price. Nice, you got the prize anyway later on. Well maybe you can make a video showing what you bought at the fest and if the merchandise and records/dealers at the fest are impressive or not.
Were you nervous . You looked like you were ready for it all. I can answer Beatles questions but not to fast I have to think it over . So jolly good for you. How about that chatty kid next to you . Wow..
Beatle Brad - It gets nerve-wracking in the Finals when everyone up there has won their previous rounds. It's unbelievable how the pressure can cause you to draw a mental blank and not recall things you already know!
Win was there .All it was is the flea market . And a video room WOW The big draw was the Beatles video hello good buy .And they showed it a lot . And the room was packed .... This video was new for all of us .It was a big deal at the time. And they also premiered the video of letter b. From sesame street . It is a take of the Beatles let it be . So get it letter b ok. Now no big deal. I have both video's in my collection now. With outtakes of hello good buy. It look's like it has come a long way from then :}... Keep in touch..
What did you think the question was about the cover of Something New, Joe? Quiz host obviously changed it since you buzzed in early. He was a skilled host.
Innocent Smith ...Ah, he changed the question on that! Back at the 2014 Fest Tom asked us a ridiculously difficult question: "On the cover of SOMETHING NEW, which song from Ed Sullivan are the Beatled performing in the picture?". Nobody on the panel or in the audience could figure it out, so Tom gave us the answer: "I Saw Her Standing There!". (I have since forgotten the details how to tell). I have always remembered that bit of trivia ever since. So now when Tom the host sensed I knew where he was going, he changed the question to "name the first 3 songs on the album". Well I knew that answer too, but was too frazzled to spit it out by then!
Surprised everyone missed the VeeJay "missing songs" question. Anybody around in the 70's trying to complete their Beatles songs collection should have known "From Me To You/There's a Place/Misery" as the missing VeeJay tracks. I used the red album for "From Me to You" and "Rarities [US]" for the other two.
Seederman - Same here, as I grew up in the 1970s. I seriously DO know about those three songs like the back of my hand, and I grew up buying the Red album and RARITIES - which is why it was extremely humiliating to draw a blank up on stage. Of course it is common collector's knowledge that three songs not on the Capitol albums were "From Me To You", "There's A Place", and "Misery". But what happens is, the pressure (for all of us - as you can see none of us got what was basically a very easy question) takes over. In the case of the Vee Jay question, for some reason I was only thinking in terms of 45rpm SINGLES.. and for some reason I never even thought about the INTRODUCING THE BEATLES album. So I'm standing up there trying to think of all the Vee Jay 45s (the song "Misery" was not on a Vee Jay 45 except I think for an obscure EP). And the song "There's A Place" was on the "Tollie" label as a 45 (not Vee Jay). Anyway, it was embarrassing for sure... but only because with the pressure of being up there trying to compete, and with a large audience down there staring back at you ... it's complete "space-out" time! :)
Seederman - Thanks. I don't mean to sound defensive about it, if that's how it looked in writing. But I mean, wow - when you've grown up always so aware of those 3 songs and then your mind is on some other track in the contest... just crazy. That is the ONE question of the two days (there will be another trivia contest video uploaded soon) that really haunted me! :)
Hi Joe. i would like ask you if you heard about the discussion with Tom Frangione on Things We Said Today podcast, about people leaking videos about the fest. I mean it was ok with him, but they need to change a lot of the questions for the next trivia contest. But hey, I love your videos. I can't go to the Fest being in another country, so thank you for this.
levik19 - Yes, I heard the discussion with Tom (I love the 'Things We Said Today' Podcast and I listen regularly). Being such a fan of the trivia contests, I was actually kind of dismayed that Tom was somewhat disappointed to an extent - though yes, he did also say the video was sort of okay with him, too. .... I honestly think Tom is a fun guy and a terrific host (and any fan of "The Honeymooners" is good with me!). I sort of understand his feeling in a way, but also I honestly feel he may be overly concerned, naturally because he is very close to it himself. But please consider: there are a total of 15 Rounds of trivia all during the whole weekend at the Beatlefest - and I've only recorded 4 of them (the 4 rounds which I was in). So that leaves 11 rounds of questions not covered. ... Also - at the end of the day I seriously doubt that any future contestants for trivia at the Fest will have even seen this rather elusive video; and even if one or two fans have seen it, they still are required to have instant recall, and to remember some of the answers - and that's IF they even happen to be asked any of these same questions ever, and if they happen to be on the stage. ... So as I say, in my opinion it's such a very slight chance. .... However, I have pretty much decided in fairness that if I should ever be privileged again to record any segments of the contest in the future, I will from here on only use snippets or small portions, and not "the whole thing". I really hope it's okay with Tom ... as you've said here, for example, you are in another country where there is NO Fest, and so you can appreciate the fun. ... Lastly, I also have placed these comments for these videos on a "screening" basis, so I have to first approve any public remarks which may be potentially problematic. .. One final point: I myself have learned some cool trivia answers just by virtue of being present in the audience for past Beatlefest trivia challenges (ie: "What song are The Beatles performing on the SOMETHING NEW cover?")! Surely we ought not also rule out people playing trivia who've learned some of the questions and answers just from observing past contests while sitting in the audience over in New Jersey and Chicago - right? And I'd think there are probably more of them as potential future Fest players than have seen this video, if you think about it. :)
Marc Discotek - Actually, the kid who won (Benjamin) has a channel here on UA-cam as well! His screen name is Camera Sparks. He is a good guy and knows a lot of Beatles trivia. I knew the final answer of the contest, but due to timing and jumping the gun, I sabotaged myself!
Kenneth koglin - I wouldn't have missed it. I knew about "She's A Woman" and HELP!, long before Benjamin was born. It's just that I buzzed in first before I heard the full question. For all I knew, the question might have been something else.
Great video Joe. Great trivia competition. All 4 of you were great and Tom Frangione has as much fun as the competitors. Fest trivia is worth the price of admission alone!
Astrosjer - I can't even begin to tell you how much fun I think Tom Frangione is as the host. The contests are my favorite part of the Fest.

I don't understand these rules
This was a real treat to see, Joe! Can't wait for part 2! :) Damn that Benjamin! :P
Hey dude!!! You sure know your Beatles! :D
Great fun Joe! You are all very knowledgable on the Beatles.
The B-side - I do okay but there is always more to learn. And I learned more this weekend. Thanks!
Nice work Joe. Great videos of the Fest . Thanks.
Next time I go to the Fest, I'm playing the Beatles trivia game. I enjoyed this!
Beatlevinyl85 ..It would be awesome if you and I could play together. By the way, Benjamin has a UA-cam channel as "camera sparks".
MeanMr Mayo I am actually subscribed to him. He's been commenting on some of my videos including the Princeton Videos. I'll have to watch and comment on his videos.Someday you and me will play the Beatles trivia.
This was a fun video, Joe! To me you are the champion!
Adilia Reis - Thanks.
Lmao Joe I loved it "Just answer the question." You sir are a patient contestant! Thanks for posting this awesome vid :)
GBPackers3224 - Glad you liked it. Thanks.
oh man haha, the pressure got ya Joe but this was fun! Loved it. Glad you had a blast
VinylCollectorJames - It was a great time, James! The pressure was very intense in the last round, yes! It sometimes made me draw a mental blank. I think everyone was kinda feeling it.
MeanMr Mayo I sure would be, it was fun to watch
Congratulations Joe! You did a great job!
Beatle Master - Thanks for watching.
I was on the edge of my seat like it was the Super Bowl! I knew that Stephen Foster song had to be a cover on one of the BBC albums.
escaperabbit - That was a tough question about Stephen Foster, but it was a good one. I had no idea he wrote "Beautiful Dreamer". Glad you were on the edge of your seat, because w sure as hell were on that stage!
I remember seeing you win the first round at beatlefest
Really cool vids Joe!! Totally entertaining and just dang good fun peace to ya-- Lis
L.E. - Thanks again, Lis. Peace and Luv!
Benjamin reminds on of the young Albert Brooks character in the movie Broadcast News, when he flashes back to getting beaten up in high school.
thanks just like being there , thanks for posting , it was like Beatles Jeopardy , wow the tension got thick , it was fun watching , congrads to Benjamin , service tea normally , take care & rock on
BMXseeker - Thanks for watching. It was a great time.

Awesome video, those questions looks hard 👍🏼👍🏼
Melissa - Thanks. Yes, some real tough ones in there.
This was fun. Benjamin was fun to watch
smfcpthowdy - Extremely fun. Benjamin is impressively knowledgable in Beatles.
There were actually 2 Capitol singles that had cover songs on both sides. 1. Slow Down/Matchbox (August 1964) and 2. Kansas City/Boys (October 1965).
You represented the Beatles VC well Joe.
All your subscribers were hoping you would win. :-)
BeatUpCollector - Thanks, John (your name is John, right?).
sure is.
I added a photo of me to my channels wallpaper, so you can put a face to my name.
Which guest were you most thrilled to get an autograph and photo from?
BeatUpCollector - Klaus Voorman, easily.
looks like great fun!
new mercury - It was a blast.
Hey Joe, look what you started. You really pulled a Ralph! I was really rooting for you. I can't believe the kid won. Great to see this. Take care...
Tim Allen - I'll give Benjamin all the credit in the world - he won fair and square. I was there and it was a very impressive and well played match. I lost to Benjamin (of course) but still had a lot of fun
NEVERMIND Reviews - A ton of fun! Thanks for commenting.

You sure know your stuff Joe !
DarkHorse17 - I do okay, but nobody's 100% !
What if Paul and Ringo showed up to play this game . . .And Lost !
bikebeerrun1960 - Paul and Ringo would most assuredly lose. They're not as fanatical about their history as the fans are.
"There's a place" and "Misery" were released on Capitol but in Canada! :D
aldiakarrofus - All sorts of things like that were in my mind under pressure and tripping me up during that question.
yes that was me with beatles Hat at the fest!!
RICHARD - Great! Sorry that I didn't record any other rounds in the contest, though.
Good job Joe, especially on the Christmas question. What did Benjamin win? By the way, do you think $78 is a bit pricey?
MrJbuzz - You mean for admission? Kind of, yes.. but I had a great time and in the end it was worth it. But really, we have an entire year to save up. The host made up the questions.
The Mighty Joe!!!
Oh man you let me down I was rooting for you the whole time Joe and you let that punk kid win!! Boo!!
Peace and love but no autographs - Ringo Starr
Marc Discotek - Actually, the kid who won (Benjamin) has a channel here on UA-cam as well! His screen name is Camera Sparks. He is a good guy and knows a lot of Beatles trivia. I knew the final answer of the contest, but due to timing and jumping the gun, I sabotaged myself!
MeanMr Mayo - it was pretty cool though I haven't been to Beatlefest since 2011 seems like something I would enjoy doing.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
YOU GO JOE!!
How could you miss She's a woman, I was pulling for you.
Kenneth koglin - I wouldn't have missed it. I knew about "She's A Woman" and HELP!, long before Benjamin was born. It's just that I buzzed in first before I heard the full question. For all I knew, the question might have been something else.
