You are a champion sir. I am Australian with zero knowledge of bootloader or flashing and you made it so easy. You should be a teacher, because you made it so easy. Thank you so much sir.
Finally, great tutorial sir, Pixel 4 XL
WOW for once everything went absolutely perfect from start to finish. EXCELLENT tutorial! You saved me so many hours of pain and frustration. I appreciate you a lot bro.
Great to hear!
@@ProgeeksblogCan I choose an older version of android and downgrade my phone with it ? Please reply..
Works like a charm on Pixel 7 Pro, I tried a manual root just to play with 32 bits apps, and it messed up the boot getting me stuck on the G logo forever, after seeing this tutorial, it fixed it
I'm glad it worked for you.
hi, i have rooted my pixel 7 to use 32 bits apps, how did u enabled it? guide me please.
thx u, ur first tutorial didnt work for me, but this one does and now my p7p is rooted
Glad to hear that
ok this method works on the new firmware version of the pixel 7 pro, finally! thank you
Thanks for the update, glad it worked.
@@Progeeksblog However, I'm noticing a strange defect, it's as if magisk is not doing its job properly. Because even if, as I have always done, I use the list of apps to hide the root, my bank's app still detects the root and therefore does not open.
OK I solved it, I also listed the system apps, probably one of the system apps is reporting to the root app of my bank, now it works perfectly thanks
@@daridima2 You can follow this tutorial to hide Magisk from apps:
ua-cam.com/video/Pw2GzOeU-rU/v-deo.html
@@Progeeksblog I already knew how to do it, it's not that it's difficult, haha it's just that maybe for the latest updates it's not enough to just hide magisk from the bank app, but also from some Google system app, but as I wrote you in the second comment, it all works now, thanks
Worked perfectly. Thank you so much. :D
Great to hear!
Tq so much sir🎉 finally root pixel 7 pro!! By the way, Can you do ada video how to update OTA every month??
I'm glad you find this tutorial helpeful! I will definitely make a video about that but I have already written a step-by-step guide that you can follow over here:
www.progeeksblog.com/install-official-ota-updates-rooted-google-pixel/
this method is functionaly in android 14 for pixel 7; Thanks much
You are welcome!
Great and informative video sir. Does this work with Android 14 now?
So after about 10 times it finally showed my phone on the pixelflasher but when I process the zip file it brings up a error telling me to download the file instead or click ok. After clicking ok it seems to extract it but when i go to "patch" its grayed out so i cannot move forward.
Edit: Now im back to not being able to find the phone. It just times out after 1 min of searching. The only way I have found that it will recognize the phone is to be in the fastboot menu but you are not in it in the video
THANK YOU FOR THE TIP! PHONE SHOULD BE IN RECOVERY MODE, PEOPLE!!!
I used your tuto to root my Pixel 8a. Now I want to update it with the monthly July update. Is it the same procedure?
Great video, thanks a lot, but I have few questions:
1. I need root ONLY for recording calls - necessary thing at my work. Will it (steps presented on video) be enough, to use voice call recording apps, which needs root to work correct?
2. What with official system updates? Will I be able to normally update my rooted Pixel 7 like non-rooted device?
3. What with nfc payments? Long years ago, there was no possibility to use it on rooted android. What's actual situation? Will I need to install something else?
*4. And like I see - I'll not lose any data, right?
Yes after rooting you can install Magisk modules to record calls.
There is a method to install updates without losing the root access. Or simply install updates manually, I have video tutorials on my channel.
For payments, there's workaround to use secure payments, I have also made another tutorial, it is on our channel. I am working on a new video for Android 14.
Only unlocking the bootloader will wipe data, rest rooting the phone will not.
@@Progeeksblog Thanks for instant answers, but is there any major difference between doing presented steps for and 13 and 14?
I have to wait for phone anyway (It's ordered, but I'll be home in 2 weeks), but it would be nice to know it already, and just do it instantly, when I'll arrive my place. :)
Great tutorial. Can you show how to enable volte on pixel 4xl using any module?
hey man...awesome video!....Could u please make a video on how to update our rooted pixels to android 14?
Yeah, i cant manage to get this to work on android 14 :(

Hi, I followed all the steps and got to the point where I can flash the patched boot, but when I run the flash boot command it goes to fastboot mode as expected, pixelflasher does its thing, but then nothing happens...
While in fastboot mode my phone also disappears from pixelflasher so I can't reboot from the flasher.
After manual reboot and opening Magisk app it does not prompt the additional setup. How can I fix this? (I'm using a Pixel 6a running android 14 with 5 May 2024 security update and 1 March play system update. )
Ensure that your USB drivers are correctly installed and that your phone is properly connected to your computer. Sometimes, the connection can be interrupted, causing the phone to disappear from PixelFlasher.
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked. If it's not, you won't be able to flash the patched boot image.
If PixelFlasher isn't working, try manually flashing the patched boot image using fastboot commands:
fastboot flash boot .img
@@Progeeksblog Thanks for the reply.
The weird thing is it was rooted with magisk before, I just reset my phone and updated everything and now it doesn't work anymore, so I'm pretty sure it's not a pc driver issue. This is my first time using pixel flasher, I always just did it manually but that didn't work either for some reason (which is why I tried pixel flasher in the first place)
@@RubsNL Currently I have pixel 4a 5g running Android 14. I will record a new tutorial this week and check myself.
After flash booting the patched system image, it says no devices found! Can you please help?
Make sure USB debugging is enabled, use a good USB cable, and check that your device is recognized with adb devices and fastboot devices. Also, ensure the USB drivers are installed. Try a different USB port or computer if needed.

hi I am having trouble with the android 14 beta root, it boots up but it doesn't have root for some reason can you please help me with this?
PixelFlasher is currently not working on Android 14, but you can use the alternative tutorial pinned under this video.

Pixelflasher shows firmeware is unsupported when trying to process pixel 7 firemware:
13.0.0 (TQ2A.230505.002, May 2023)
Is this not doable yet? Can I flash to an earlier version to root?
Never mind! I was not downloading the correct factory image. Your method works
Yes I rooted my pixel phone yesterday on the May firmware and it worked without any issues. And yes, you can also flash an older factory image as well, meaning you can dowgrade android version.
Great video! Why do you click on "Flash boot" instead of the big "Flash Pixel Phone?"
Flash boot is for rooting and Flash pixel phone is for flashing the full factory image.
Thank you so much! That makes sense! Subscribed!
hi, don't run on pixel 7 pro with android 14, have a solution?
Try this tutorial:
ua-cam.com/video/QMTOzgwY4bM/v-deo.html
one quick question, this method doesn't loose any data or clean flash the phone?!
For rooting: If your bootloader is already unlocked, which you should then rooting with PixelFlasher will wipe or erase data.
For Flashing: You get the option to wipe or not, so it is your choice. In fact I have made another tutorial that I will publish this week on how to flash factory image without losing data.
after booting the .img it will not be detetct my phone :( and just keeps rebooting
update when i get to the patch step i already installed magisk through PixelFlasher.... but when i do all the steps again I can't download Magick again.... so i try clicking Patch but i get an error that the device isn't in adb mode then it aborts...

@@p4ascal123 If your phone bootloader is already unlocked, then it will not erase any data. Only Unlocking the bootloader wipes your phone storage.
Hey if I was to buy a new Google pixel 7 will this still work straight out of the box?
Yes sure, to root your phone, you also need to unlock the bootloader, the tutorial is given in the video description.
Hi again. I tried following your procedure on my pixel 5 as per your tutorial. First the phone didn’t scan the second time and then after I got into the Home Screen inside Magisk app it says Installed - N/A

@@suraization Make sure you've installed Google OEM USB drivers on your PC, also you need to enable USB debugging from Developer Options. Finally make sure, your phone bootloader is already unlocked.

will root remain after pixel update or what to do to keep phone rooted after android updates?
You've to root your phone again.
HOW TO OPEN THE ORIGINAL OEM UNLOCKING (CONNECT TO THE INTERNET OR CONTACT YOUR CARRIER)
Normally, unlocking the bootloader on a carrier-locked device requires obtaining an unlock code from the carrier, which can be a difficult process. Some carriers may refuse to provide an unlock code, or they may charge a fee to unlock the device.
Patch Button is greyed out?
Make sure your phone is in MTP mode.
Hallo Sir, how to change imei on Google Pixel 7?
At this point, there is no way to repair the IMEI on the Pixel 7.

latest august image cant be patched ? any ideas ?
I have rooted it without any issues, please try again! Let me know if you're getting any specific error?
Hello sir. Does this work for the pixel 7a as well? Ty
Yes it should. I have also pinned alternative tutorial in the comments section.
Hi! is this going to work for pixel 7 japanese version?
Yes it is going to work on all Pixel 7 and 7 Pro models, just make sure your phone is factory unlocked. Also, follow the tutorial given in the video description to first unlock the bootloader.
whats the benifit of Rooted Mobiles?
You get access to modify system, installing custom roms, kernels, install apps that requires root access, some users use it for game hacks (which is normally not possible without root), install call record apps, get rid of system apps that you don't like and many more.
Will this work on the 7a?
Yes sure, any Pixel model!
Can you show how to update ota using Pixel flasher?
Do you mean update without losing root access?
@@Progeeksblog yup

Yes, working for any Pixel model.

Not tested, but it should work! Give it a try and let us know.
Can you confirm whether it works on Pixel 7 after June update?
Yes, 100% working, personally rooted my Pixel 7.
Maybe i could understand you next time, when you don't have four hot potatoes in your mouth while speaking.
Haha, noted! I'll try to tone down the potato vibe next time.
I forget the last step click on “Scan button to reselect your device and click on Reboot to System" and just pressed Start on the phone. Now when I open Magisk it doesn't say "requires additional setup" and i'm not rooted. So I tried flashing the patched boot file again but that doesn't work anymore. It keeps giving me an error and says can't flash because the bootloader is locked! I checked in developer options but it is turned on. What now??? :(
You need to first unlock bootloader of your phone. Here is the video tutorial:
