To think I was here for this, it was so unbelievably fucking hot. The energy during their entire set & when Gerard came on during Thursdays set was fucking crazy. I cherish those memories now.
i wish i was there before all that fangirls bullshit happened.i dunno todays mcr fanbase is the worst fanbase i ever saw im my life they only talk about how mikey is moving too much how gerard and frank are cute but i dont see anyone talking about music bunch of posers if you ask me
It's weird to see MCR perform without thousands of shrieking fangirls in the audience. I would have loved to have been able to see them live back then.
Painfully true. Once only girls like a band, they become a chick band. I'm not saying I hate their fangirls, but I am saying that their concerts were a hellava lot cooler before all that crap.
Sydney A When to many young girls like the band it soften their image and less men show up, which then kills the roughness of the concerts and performances. They aren't as fun.
I agree with you completely. I love how much fun and hardcore this show looks. I would have loved to been there, but unfortunately I was barely even two.
I love this MCR more than Danger Days. This is violent and heavy punk, and Danger Days was a very fun album, but it just didn't really sit well with me. I am starting to like the songs on Danger Days, but I'll always like this My Chem more. (Along with Three Cheers, The Black Parade, and Conventional Weapons)
He is not doing anything...but heabanging... I actually expected him to go all out "Kurt Cobain" in this song... (By "Kurt Cobain", go watch Nirvana back in the 80s and youll see what I mean)...
OMG THE ENDING WAS SO AMAZING RAY STARTED FREAKING OUT ON GUITAR JUST TEARING IT UP! GOD THIS SONG MAKES U GET SO PUMPED I WANNA GO PUNCH SO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS FACE!!!!!!!!! WHOS WITH ME!!!!!!!!!
I saw them in our small, but most popular local club here in Oklahoma City called the Green Door. Letter Kills opened for them. I think it was an off show during the Nintendo Fusion tour. This is right when they blew up the following summer I think.
Record companies (Major Label ones) basically own bands, if you've noticed MCR have changed dramatically since they've signed to Reprise...Trust me, I know this stuff and major labels can make a band change into a style of music that's popular at the time (Pop-punk has become very popular from 2004-present which is what the past 2 albums are). It's not that they've gone happy, it's because of their record label. It's why people make music: For money, it's their jobs.
I could watch this video thousands of times and never get tired of it, i just love it. Actually i came here every once in a while just to get the energy of the performance and enjoy it. God i wish i was there.
I watch this video every once and a while to remind myself that there was a time when MCR was actually a decent punk band. Still think Bullets is a great album.
Same here. It's quite disappointing, actually. I hope (if they reunite) they go back to being a bit heavier and punkier than their last album which was dripping in pop rock and power pop elements.
***** At least the change in sound didn't make them awful. They're still listenable. (Although some people may argue and say the change made them sell outs or that they started sucking after Bullets.)
I liked all their albums for different reasons. Bullets is my favorite, but Revenge was also great even though the sound was a bit more polished- it had some amazing tracks. Between Black Parade and Danger days though; both albums took a very long time to grow on me.
I miss this too. But if you're a real fan, you'll understand why they've change. It's not for selling more albums, it's because they evolve. Any of their albums has been the same all the time. They change concepts. "Create and Destroy as you see fit". That's their concept. They're not a boring band who spends all their career making tons of albums that sound the same and bore.
Yup, most people thing that they changed because they 'got happy' when really reprise made them because loads of people hated them in TBP era so the record label probably threatened to drop them if they didn't change.
Personally, I found Danger Days to run flat with me. It's not a terrible album by any means, but just generic and a huge disappointment. They tried something new, and I commend them for it, but it did not work out. Bullets with its raw energy, metaphoric lyrics, and umber ambiance beats Danger Days hands down. However, I think Revenge beats out all of the other eras to smithereens. Revenge for life.
SO TRUE!!!!! Lets say if someone called them 'Emos' then about eleven fans would be having a huge rant at them and telling the story of 'how they saved their lives', most of the time they just say that as a retaliation to when MCR get called emos.
You guys have great points, but do you really think they would sell out just so Warner wouldn't drop them? Plenty of other major labels would have been happy to pick them up. Gerard just said that their 5th album will be very dark, and they'd be wearing costumes again, and they're still on Reprise so it wasn't their label. By the way, I agree with you that fangirls are the death of fanbases.
Just imagine Gerard singing vampires will never hurt you directly in your face
I think that’s what I try to simulate every night
Yes pls
Believe me, I love ALL their albums. But nothing beats Bullets. This was their prime
agreed.
The Black Parade was there Prime
Tyrone Black False
The only real post hardcore álbum
Im sorry, I gotta go with revenge
Play this at my funeral
Kurt.

I was there. It was so hot in that airplane hangar. I remember drinking hot water out of the spigot just to hydrate.
I was also here for this. I think I was 16 lol
Literally the best moment in time. It was raw and intimate. Not a 10,000 show arena. Damn, this was beautiful to watch.
I miss this era, so pure and pressure..
theyre all so passionate about their music and its so admirable and im not crying you are...
If you're crying then you must've come into the mcr scene during black parade lol
HOLY SHIT RAYS SHREDDING WTF IT WAS WTF I CANT SO AMAZING
Elliot ray is bae
He’s always shredding tbf
when you listen to fans say this band literally saved their lives, I'd say the lyricist is doing something right.
I'm the guy at 5:03 with a shit-eating grin on my face.
So what if a lot of girls like the band? How does that make them any less good?
Sydney A When to many young girls like the band it soften their image and less men show up, which then kills the roughness of the concerts and performances. They aren't as fun.
I agree with you completely. I love how much fun and hardcore this show looks. I would have loved to been there, but unfortunately I was barely even two.

I love how how treats his fans right here!!
the crowd so fucking cool and mychem is full of energy
I love this MCR more than Danger Days. This is violent and heavy punk, and Danger Days was a very fun album, but it just didn't really sit well with me. Yeah bullets and 3 cheers were amazing albums
In my opinion, bullets is better than the black parade.
Its very indebted to the smiths and the misfits and is a great time capsule for this shit for 03
i agree danger days has some good songs but its not rlly my taste
Damn you know Ray is a serious metalhead when he starts randomly playing the lead part from Am I Evil
Damn i really wish i could have been there back then.....but i was pretty young
the crowds energy is through the roof..i wish i was there
I still listen to bullets. Always will. They really need to release another album like this.
mikey calm tf down
Not Pete Wentz I assume you're being sarcastic?
He is not doing anything...but heabanging...
I actually expected him to go all out "Kurt Cobain" in this song...
(By "Kurt Cobain", go watch Nirvana back in the 80s and youll see what I mean)...
this is the best performance of My Chemical Romance
i thought franks screaming and facial expression was literally me, agh so cute
5:08 he screamed just like in the end of you know what they do to guys like us in prison
OMG THE ENDING WAS SO AMAZING RAY STARTED FREAKING OUT ON GUITAR JUST TEARING IT UP! GOD THIS SONG MAKES U GET SO PUMPED I WANNA GO PUNCH SO MANY PEOPLE IN THIS FACE!!!!!!!!! WHOS WITH ME!!!!!!!!!
apparently 19 people are with you

Saw them on that tour in LA. Couldn't believe they weren't headlining.
Still here in '24. Long live My Chemical Romance ♥️
Why is there such hate towards the current mcr fandom. Chill out guys.
Grumpy old dudes lmao
I have never seen so much passion like in this performance. That is awesome.
This is my favorite My Chem song.
This is the first time I've heard a live version of this song.
I think Gerard was drunk in this...
But that just proves he's an amazing singer.
this is so raw ,,, it's lit
its MCR not lit
+SpongeBob SquarePants well gee and frank were likely stoned sooo...
He's talking about the band called Lit. Yes, there was and still might be a band called Lit. It was a joke.
creekandseminole this was like from forever ago but im a girl
i'm so proud that hellfest is in france and that we actually had early mcr

I could watch this video thousands of times and never get tired of it, i just love it. Actually i came here every once in a while just to get the energy of the performance and enjoy it. God i wish i was there.
*_all of them literally snatched their wigs in this perfomance_*
I just got to FINALLY hear Vampires live in Boston. Never thought the day would come.
One word: passion
Bleeding Through killed it at this Hellfest \m/
I watch this video every once and a while to remind myself that there was a time when MCR was actually a decent punk band. Still think Bullets is a great album.
+redriverhautbois Bullets is my favorite. And I seriously miss their raw punk vibe from it.
Same here. It's quite disappointing, actually. I hope (if they reunite) they go back to being a bit heavier and punkier than their last album which was dripping in pop rock and power pop elements.
I also miss their older punk and heavier rock roots. Jalia Brodie

+Alexvlogzz it's 2016 not 2005. We all like to pretend it is by it isn't
Not Pete Wentz I was born in 2005...wish I was born in the early 90s or something so I could've gone and seen them.
everyone's going crazy during the end and mikey's just in the back like "the fuck are you guys doing."
where are the bands like this now wow this looks like so much fun
Yup, most people thing that they changed because they 'got happy' when really reprise made them because loads of people hated them in TBP era so the record label probably threatened to drop them if they didn't change.
the old times was the best!
Some guy just came on stage and hugged Gerard lol
This is the MCR I LOVE
I really miss the old fans..The newer fans are all little kids who like them mostly because they fancy the band members.
It makes me wanna get my vampire fangs (which i bought for Halloween) and run around singing this song. lol
i miss this.
how about toro's guitar playing in this song? he's never done anything like this since. it's awesome.
i love this

Agreed
The thing is I don't think I'll ever be able to see MCR live, i'd be unconscious for most of it

+jalen8r 2019 ;))))
@@jalen8r Yep
You made my day lol
genial!!
Finally! I've been looking for this vid for a minute.
This is back when the majority of their fans were guys.
I'm just here crying in the corner thinking about my angry depressive teenage years
I'm seeing this band in September.
SO TRUE!!!!! Lets say if someone called them 'Emos' then about eleven fans would be having a huge rant at them and telling the story of 'how they saved their lives', most of the time they just say that as a retaliation to when MCR get called emos.
this is so good

fuck man, its sucks not being a teenager or even an adult to attend these raw bullet era shows. 3 year old me had no clue who mcr even was.
frank has the danger days haircut and he looks exactly the same as himself in danger days except with gauges and piercings and less tattoos
sighs i was born too late this was fucking perfect U_U
