Lovely video of a pleasant walk in a gorgeous park. You may not be happy with some images but that's not what's important. Being out doing what you love is great for the mind and soul. Thanks for sharing taking and sharing the video.
There is nothing like a wet woodland walk for me.. I love the atmosphere it gives out but the one thing that puts me off is the wind. I bought a macro lens a little while ago with the intention of doing some fungi but since then I have hardly seen any... that 1st shot was more fungi in one bunch that I have seen in 2 months.... great shot. I have to say I always pack a brolly on days like this - as you walked abt I thought there didn't seem to be the wind you mentioned at the beginning of the vlog... I was looking over your should at potential images..lol Totally agree re the invasive species.. blight on our plants. Like the way you self critique your images throughout. Its my habit to pause the video and make comment as I am watching - else I forget stuff I want to say (its an age thing, lol) and then at 14 mins I hear you making recommendations... what can I say you are too kind - thank you for those lovely words (unpauses video to carry on) Hope you dried out ok...lol - its only water. atb Al
Well I enjoyed that little stroll around the park Alan, and the rain didn't bother me at all! I was following along as your roving eye was looking for something that was photo worthy, I thought the mushrooms looked great. Can I suggest an upgrade to that hat, the leaf helped a little but I think it needs jazzing up a bit, or how about a personalised hat with your own photo logo 😃 Cheers Alan, Keep safe 🍺
Haha, you have noticed my less than perfect fashion sense! I will see what I can do to jazz things up, but another leaf hitches a ride in 2 weeks time!
you should patent that hat design Alan - well, once you've found a solution to keep the leaf on top!! 🙂 the rhododendrons at Craig y Nos have morphed into hard wood sculptures at this time of year, making for some great compositions. but yes, they are a pain. at 5:30 around the pond there were some interesting shapes in the tree branches. in general I find woodland really very tricky whereas someone like Alan Coles as you said is a magician with the stuff! Thanks for the shout out - you are too kind 🙂 and please don't fall over like that again - OUCH!!!
I know about the damned leaf! In 2 weeks time I get another one, as you will see. The shout out to both of you was heartfelt, the shots you have both taken this year have been just superb! As for the head? My own stupid fault, I was so keen to save the camera that my head came off worst!
As always, the consummate professional. Lovely images, really liked the highlights on the wet fungi, a new one for me. I have the old Zuiko 35mm f3.5, four thirds lens. I find it awkward to use for some reason, whether on my E5, or my E510.
Thanks so much Clare, it always makes me smile to get a comment from you over there, at the start of your springtime I guess? I've not looked into using 4/3 lenses yet, it might be something I can do in the New Year.
Very enjoyable walk and talk on a very wet day. You're too demanding on yourself Alan, the images are really nice, especially the mushrooms. By the way, you're giving too much credit to Nick, everyone knows that that it’s Dexter and Chico doing the heavy lifting. Be well and stay safe (and dry).
Is the P3 water resistant/proof Alan? Rhoddys are a native species here and non-invasive. They are used in the landscape as ornamental shrubs, but can grow very large. We have two large cultivars 'Nikko Blue' in front and a smaller variety along the side of my garage. Enjoyable vlog Alan and lovely images. (I'm not a fun guy either!) How would you compare the joy of landscape photography against cityscape/archectecture photogaphy? "Simpler, cleaner, better?" I would suggest an increase in saturation, but I'm no "During the Meanwhilst" by any stretch of the imagination!
Well TC, the city is more my 'natural habitat' now since I left Wales many years ago, with its wonderful landscapes. I know other photographers are concerned about taking photos on the streets but I have never worried at all, confidence is a great gift. No the P3 isn't weather resistant, the micro SD card slot is unprotected.
Beautiful video, beautiful photography, love your choice of music, another great episode from my favourite youtuber
Heck thanks Karl, glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you Simon, I couldn't agree more; getting out is a wonderful way to relieve stress and maintain sanity (well I think I am sane anyway!).

Well Enrique, I have to give him some incentives from time to time lol. Glad you liked the 'shrooms!
I hope you enjoyed a cuppa when you got home.
Crikey, another Alan..! Yes I certainly did have a nice warm cuppa after that soaking, and thank you for both asking - and commenting 👍

@ And you weren’t worried about moisture getting in?
Not really TC although I was careful to shield it from the worst of the rain.
